Chapter 101 Chapter 14: Whether It's A Boy or A Girl, Cuteness is Everything!

Jan 11, 2026 1,760 words

Liang Lin, clutching her blanket, took several steps back, staring at the little one in horror.

"You, how could you... No, no, no, no, this should be a good thing!"

"Ah ahh..."

The little tentacles—no, it shouldn't be called little tentacles anymore. The upper half of this little one's body already resembled a normal baby, with fair and tender skin, and chubby little arms and hands. Looking further up, you could see short, ungrown black hair and a pair of large, watery blue eyes. She looked a lot like Liang Di, only her eyebrows and hair color resembled Liang Lin's.

"You, you're human! But, but, your legs..." Liang Lin's gaze gradually moved downwards, discovering that the little one's lower body was still tentacled. This combination of a human body and tentacles looked incredibly bizarre.

The little one opened its arms, babbling "ee-yah-yah," its arms waving up and down, seemingly wanting a hug.

Liang Lin hadn't been around a human baby in a long time, and for a moment she felt awkward and unsure how to hold the little one. Before, when this creature was just a tiny tentacle, she could grab its head and lift it up. Now that it was a human child, she couldn't just grab its head and lift it up—its neck would break!

Liang Lin hesitated for a long time before finally making up her mind. She opened her arms and hugged the little one in front of her. The little one held her tightly in her arms, its clear, big eyes staring at her, making her feel a little embarrassed.

Liang Lin still couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl. As everyone knows, newborn babies don't have hair, but after so many days, the little tentacle had grown some hair, though it was short and just a thin layer of fuzz. Its little face was chubby and very cute, but unfortunately, it was impossible to tell if it was a boy or a girl.

"Sigh, you know, I don't even know if you're a boy or a girl, how am I supposed to name you?"

Liang Lin lifted the little one high in the air. The little one, like before, still had its lower tentacles flailing wildly, but now it had little hands on its upper body, and its little arms were also flailing about.

However, the fact that her child could become a human child truly delighted her. Liang Lin held her child, looking at it from left to right, finding it adorable no matter how she looked at it. Its chubby little face looked soft and sweet, making one want to pounce and take a bite; it must taste so sweet, like a freshly baked meat bun.

"Hmm..."

Liang Lin nodded in satisfaction, then said self-satisfiedly, "As expected of my child, you're so beautiful, just like me. Hmm, there's even a heroic air about it in your eyes. You will definitely take after me and become a skilled swordsman."

In reality, the child looked more like Liang Di.

“But why do I feel like there’s something about you that doesn’t quite look right?” Liang Lin muttered, scrutinizing the child in front of her. “Ugh~ why do I feel so suffocated just looking at you?”

Of course, Liang Di had given her a psychological trauma from imprisoning her.

“But now that you’ve become a human child, your size is… uh, you,” Liang Lin lifted the little guy high, “you’ve grown quite a bit, it’s not easy to take you home.”

Liang Lin was troubled, scratching her head, clicking her teeth, her brows furrowed.

“You know, if you were completely a child, it would be fine, I could just tell them you’re a child I found, and I think you look a lot like me, so I’d take you home and raise you. But now you’re half human and half tentacles, so what am I supposed to say?”

How am I supposed to explain this to my subordinates and uncle? Should I say I brought home a little monster? Or should I buy a big blanket and wrap the child’s lower body so they can’t see it? Both of these things sound rather illogical.

Liang Lin racked her brains for a long time, then the little guy waved her hands in the air, grabbing at things, and then pointed to her mouth, making "Aba aba" sounds.

"Uh, your posture, your movement, you you you..." Liang Lin instinctively hugged her shoulders and took two steps back. "Are you hungry? Don't tell me you're hungry!"

Feeding the tentacle that had turned into a human child was too strange. She was already used to feeding the tentacle, and now that it was suddenly human, the thought of a human child lying on her breasts made her feel awkward again, just like when she hadn't accepted feeding the tentacle—it was incredibly embarrassing.

"You, oh well, never mind, it's just a little baby, my child, why am I so shy?"

Liang Lin suppressed her embarrassment, pulling open her clothes, only to meet the little one's expectant gaze. Liang Lin's face flushed crimson, but she was helpless.

She couldn't just stop feeding the baby because of shame and let it go hungry; that would be too cruel.

Liang Lin picked up the baby with one arm, holding her clothes with the other, avoiding looking at the baby drinking milk, and began to mentally chant, "As long as I'm not ashamed, it's others who are ashamed."

Overall, the feeling hadn't changed; it was still the same as before, nothing unusual.

Liang Lin's face softened a little, not so red anymore.

Only after finally finishing feeding did she breathe a sigh of relief and put down her clothes. It was during the feeding process that she thought of a solution.

“Since your upper body has become like a normal baby in just one week, then your lower body… in at most half a month, will it also become like a normal baby?” Liang Lin guessed. She picked up a small, white, tender tentacle and examined it carefully, noticing that the suckers on it had shrunk even further.

Now, Liang Lin said with even greater certainty, “Yes, I believe in you, child. In two weeks, no, less than two weeks, you will become a real human baby!”

As for why she was so certain… well, actually, Liang Lin wasn't entirely sure herself. She was just saying this to encourage herself.

With this thought in mind, Liang Lin decided to stay in the surrounding cities for a few more days, taking this little one out to play and see the world. It was perfect timing; she hadn't relaxed in a long time. This was a break for herself before going into battle.

“You don’t have any clothes yet. Come on, I’ll take you to buy some.”

Liang Lin pulled a coat from her bag and wrapped the little one up tightly, making sure no tentacles or skin were exposed. Then she picked her up and went out the door.

This was the first time Liang Lin had openly carried the little one outside. The previous times, she had tucked the little one inside her clothes, letting her cling to her belly.

This was the little one’s first time seeing the outside world. She sucked her thumb, her eyes wide, shaking her head like a rattle. Whatever she saw, she would stare at it for two seconds before looking away. Everything around her was so new and exciting, keeping her constantly busy, even though she wasn’t walking.

Seeing her child's adorable yet comical reaction, Liang Lin laughed. She pinched the little one's chubby cheeks. "Alright, stop looking so naive. You're a noble lady now, you'll see much more in the future. If you act like this every time, people will think I'm abusing you and not letting you go out."

The little one licked her lips and pulled her thumb out of her mouth. Then, she reached out and grabbed Liang Lin's hand, "Awawa!" and sucked on Liang Lin's thumb, enjoying it immensely.

Liang Lin's expression changed. Although she blushed slightly, she was mostly reproachful.

"Really, your hands are so dirty! Why are you doing this? You can suck your own hands, why are you sucking mine? I need to grab gold coins and silver coins later! You child, how come you don't know how to be clean and tidy from such a young age? No, when you can understand me, I'll definitely give you a good talking to."

Liang Lin continued her nagging, already behaving like a mother.

She walked into a high-end tailor shop quite naturally. Although she hadn't frequented such shops much when she was a young lady, she had been a few times and had some experience. However, buying clothes for her child was a first for her.

"Uh..."

Just as Liang Lin was hesitating, the shop owner noticed her predicament. The shopkeeper, quick-witted as ever, immediately approached her with a standard business smile. "Miss, would you like a custom-made dress, or something else?"

Liang Lin waved her hand, pointing to the little one in her arms. "It's not me who wants custom-made clothes, it's her. Um... this, this is my daughter, what do you think? Isn't she cute?"

"Eh?"

The shopkeeper was clearly taken aback, probably not expecting such a question. He awkwardly scratched his head, looking into the child's big, watery eyes, though it wasn't exactly flattery for the sake of making a sale.

"Adorable! This little girl will definitely grow up to be a beauty."

Liang Lin's doting motherly nature was finally on full display at this moment.

"I told you, my daughter is the cutest!"

Although I don't know the gender yet, she is so cute, it must be a girl!

Liang Lin vigorously rubbed the little head of the child in her arms.

"A pink outfit, please. Do you have any clothes in stock for a child her size?"

The shopkeeper glanced back.

"Hmm… maybe a little big, but it's not a problem. However…" The shopkeeper hesitated, then continued, "Miss, are you sure you want to buy a pink outfit?"

Deathly Barbie pink, you deserve it.

The shopkeeper's gaze towards Liang Lin was indescribable; he felt that such a beautiful young lady had seriously questionable taste.

"Are you sure you want this set?"
