Chapter 60 Chapter 60

Nov 14, 2025 641 words

"What's going on now?"

Ning Chu paced restlessly around the dorm room, mumbling under his breath.

He kept glancing at his phone, desperately waiting for Wen Yang’s reply.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to chase after them—his short legs just wouldn’t get him far. He’d only end up being a burden.

"There are so many hotels near the school. Shaoqing might not run into them."

"But if he really walks in on them…"

Zhang Shaoqing would become the third wheel.

The description felt a little off, but Ning Chu couldn’t be bothered to correct it.

He continued circling the dorm, muttering nonstop.

"It took so much effort to settle things with Wen Yang, and now Shaoqing has issues."
"If he really turns dark..."

Remembering the antagonist behavior described in the plot, Ning Chu shuddered.

"Should I just leave now? Even if I skip school, working in a factory would at least keep me alive."

What kind of time-travel protagonist had it this miserable?

Other leads get yachts, beauties, and wealth, but him? A factory job? Seriously?

Willing to lie about how we met*

"And this world is actually pretty dangerous..."

Even though this hentai-like world appeared to have normal social order, the chances of running into a pervert were much higher.

Plus, settings originally meant for fanservice could easily turn into actual disaster for Ning Chu—one wrong encounter and he could get used by someone.

Half a month ago, if he’d realized Zhang Shaoqing might fall into darkness, he would’ve rushed out without thinking, instead of handing Shaoqing over to Wen Yang like he did this time.

Before he could continue spiraling, footsteps sounded in the hallway.

Ning Chu quickly opened the door and peeked outside.

He saw Wen Yang and Zhang Shaoqing returning, Wen Yang walking ahead.

"Nothing happened?!"

Ning Chu rushed out, stopping right in front of Zhang Shaoqing. His face was tense with worry. "How did it go? What happened?"

"…"

Wen Yang turned back and explained, "We didn’t see them. He contacted Lingling, but she didn’t respond."

Good, good, good!

Ning Chu let out a breath of relief.

He studied Zhang Shaoqing’s blank, emotionless expression and followed the two back into the dorm.

Zhang Shaoqing still said nothing.

He silently sat down in front of the computer. Ning Chu scooted over to Wen Yang and whispered into his ear on tiptoe, "His condition looks really bad. What do we do?"

His voice was so soft that Wen Yang leaned in, confused, getting closer to Ning Chu’s lips.

"He's in a bad state…"

"Yeah, that’s normal. His first love got stolen—how could anyone be fine after that?"

"But the problem is, he isn’t talking, crying, or reacting. He just sits there. It’s scary."

The faint feminine scent in Ning Chu’s breath drifted past Wen Yang, making him glance at the delicate lips so close to his own, then back at Zhang Shaoqing.

After hesitating, he said, "I’ll order two boxes of beer for him. Maybe drinking will help him vent."

"Yes, yes, hurry!"

Ning Chu nodded repeatedly.

He hoped that with his roommates’ comfort and the boost from alcohol, Zhang Shaoqing would finally release his bottled-up emotions.

Otherwise, falling into the dark path would be inevitable!

He actually missed the cocky, loud, yellow-haired rich kid.

Wen Yang reluctantly opened the food delivery app, sneaking glances at Ning Chu. "I’ve never seen anyone care this much about a roommate."

"We’re all friends~"

"But we’ve only known each other for a little over a month."

If they had been friends for years it might make sense—but they had only lived together for just over a month.
