73 Chapter - Pass

"I say, Wen Ge, why are you so impatient, have you never seen a woman before?"

A mocking voice came from the crowd.

At this moment, all the Treants had surrounded the treehouse, leaving Bai Cheng with no escape.

Despite the rule that Survivors cannot harm each other, almost everyone still tacitly hid behind the Treants, just in case.

Of course, this Survivor named Wen Ge was an exception.

"Wen Ge, what if they counterattack in desperation..." His subordinate also reminded him with some concern.

Unexpectedly, Wen Ge looked impatient, first glaring fiercely at his subordinate, then looking at the other team that mocked him and responded coldly.

"I've seen more women than you've hunted, deer!"

He then changed the subject: "But for such a beautiful one, it's first come, first served, heh heh heh...."

However, before he could finish speaking, a circular purple light suddenly flashed from the treehouse in front of them, and an incredibly sharp aura spread outwards, instantly freezing everyone in place.

Buzz! It seemed as if even the air was reverberating with a trembling hum.

Wen Ge was startled, feeling a chill on his scalp and breaking out in a cold sweat.

His subordinate behind him quickly reminded him: "Wen Ge, your hair..."

Wen Ge subconsciously touched his head, only to find it empty, with only smooth scalp remaining.

Before he could yell in anger, everyone was staring intently at the treehouse.

The thick tree trunk would probably require ten people to encircle it, but at a height of about two meters, a smooth, even thin line had appeared at some point.

It was diagonally distributed, cutting across the entire tree trunk.

Everyone looked surprised, because they knew this was the crack from which the purple light had just emanated.

"It can't be..." One of them spoke, somewhat dazed.

The next second, the tree trunk tilted with a 'crack', and the huge ancient tree began to fall to one side.

In an instant, the people on the side where the ancient tree fell panicked, and the hired Treants also scattered in disarray to one side.

Although the ancient tree was very thick and covered a wide area, fortunately, it did not fall quickly, as the canopies of other ancient trees above provided a buffer.

So everyone avoided being crushed by the ancient tree, but the loud crash it made when it hit the ground made everyone's hearts tremble.

Why would such a massive ancient tree collapse?

They couldn't believe it, and before they could react, they saw a red-haired strong man carrying two girls, leaping effortlessly out of the encirclement and escaping into the depths of the town.

Wen Ge in the crowd immediately roared: "They ran away!"

"Hurry and chase them, we can't let her hire other Treants!"

In their view, a Pioneer's assets must be stronger than everyone present.

Although no one believed that one person could surpass the combined assets of their nineteen people, as long as the other party successfully hired a group of Treants, they could engage in a standoff...

There was no retreat within this platform, and although some Survivors were amazed by the other party's strength, they still tended to believe that the other party had used some kind of item.

Finally, they could only take a chance and follow the other Survivors in pursuit.

However, in reality, Bai Cheng had never considered wasting her unlimited coins on hiring Treants.

Even when she had just seen on the screen that she only needed to pay three times the hiring fee to make the Treants betray them, she remained unmoved.

After running through several streets, Bai Cheng also found that the town was as usual, and no unknown changes had occurred.

She breathed a sigh of relief: "You can't harm Treants, but destroying buildings is clearly not affected."

Even the system probably didn't expect such a thick ancient tree to be cut down.

And with that, things became much simpler.

"The one thing this town doesn't lack is ancient trees."

In front of a treehouse, Chiyan put down Bai Cheng and Zi Yuan, and he quickly said respectfully: "Miss, I apologize for the offense."

Bai Cheng waved her hand indifferently, then turned her gaze to Zi Yuan.

"Miss, Zi Yuan will block them, Chiyan will be responsible for protecting you."

With that, Zi Yuan gripped her blade and walked back, then swung another slash, cutting down an ancient tree on one side, which then crashed down to block the middle of the road.

She leaped up onto the tree trunk, sat cross-legged on it, and calmly looked ahead.

Those Survivors all had mounts, so their actual speed of arrival would not be much slower, and the Treants' speed was also not slow.

Bai Cheng and Chiyan also did not waste time and immediately began searching the surrounding treehouses.

At this point, she no longer cared if she would be hostile to the ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) Treants; as long as she didn't harm them before finding the pass, it would be fine.

But Bai Cheng didn't know what exactly the pass was.

She could only use the most primitive method, conducting a carpet search for the most suspicious items.

"Logically, in such a large town, there shouldn't be only one so-called pass."

Bai Cheng frowned; at this point, she and Chiyan had already searched several wooden houses in a row, but had found nothing.

Her frown deepened: "It shouldn't be this hard to find, should it?"

Unbeknownst to her, Bai Cheng had already arrived at the very center of the town.

Unlike other places, a wide area here had no ancient trees; instead, it was covered in lush green saplings, none even as tall as a person.

And in the very center, surrounded by this forest of saplings, there was a magnificent three-story house, or even a palace, built of wood.

The wooden staircase extending downwards was lined with unmoving Treant soldiers, looking solemn and majestic.

"This is..." Bai Cheng's eyes narrowed.

Chiyan beside her also seemed to sense something and said: "Miss, your subordinate feels an elite-level aura here."

Bai Cheng's face immediately showed surprise upon hearing this, then she curved her lips: "It seems this is where the loot mission is located."

"Chiyan, let's go!"

With that, Bai Cheng immediately walked forward; she refused to believe there was no pass here.

But the moment she stepped onto the stairs, the Treants on both sides suddenly moved.

Their wooden spears immediately crossed, and they took a step, preparing to block Bai Cheng in the middle of the staircase.

Just as they made a move, a roar came.

"Get lost!" Chiyan suddenly unleashed his aura, and an invisible wave of air knocked them to the ground.

Bai Cheng did not stop, walking up step by step.

The other Treants still on the stairs also panicked; they simply held their wooden spears, constantly retreating, but dared not block Bai Cheng another step.

Upon entering the hall, what greeted her eyes were twenty wooden crafts shimmering with golden light.

Clearly, they were the passes.

"So all the passes are together." Bai Cheng smiled; she could finally fight back.

"Since that's the case, then you will remain on this platform forever."
