Chapter 24 024 Again?!
For most students, Friday night was a time to celebrate.
It meant a week of hard work and exhaustion was finally over—and the next two days were theirs to enjoy.
Though, truth be told, Lu Yu enjoyed himself every single day anyway.
His dinner was simple: a bowl of instant noodles and a boiled egg—that was it.
Lately, there seemed to be a trend online of cracking raw eggs directly into instant noodles, but Lu Yu hated anything undercooked.
Boiling an egg wasn’t much trouble for him. He usually just tossed a whole egg into his electric kettle, opened the lid, and boiled it for about ten minutes.
There was no point making dinner fancy. Lu Yu always ate his fill at school during lunch.
Outside prices were sky-high—only the school canteen was affordable enough for him. That’s also why he insisted on getting an extra chicken leg every noon.
So at lunchtime, he never tried to save money. After all, it was the only proper meal he had all day.
“Ugh… seafood flavor is so gross.”
After tossing the empty noodle cup, Lu Yu couldn’t help but sigh.
He used to actually like this flavor…
But of course—eating the same thing over and over again would make anyone sick of it.
After clearing his desk, scooping the cat litter for Meiqiu (Coalball), refilling the cat’s food and clean water, Lu Yu turned on his computer.
As soon as his game account logged in, a chat window popped up—from a player named “Ge Jie Lai La.”
**Ge Jie Lai La:** No way! Bro Lu, I rushed straight to the nearest internet café after school—didn’t expect you to beat me here!
**Yu:** I just logged on too.
**Ge Jie Lai La:** Hurry up! Come check out the Nasus I just leveled!
**Yu:** …
**Ge Jie Lai La:** Come on already—stop stalling! GKD!
**Yu:** As long as it’s not ranked, I’m fine with anything.
**Ge Jie Lai La:** Wow, you’re just mocking how bad I am! *sob sob* We literally napped side by side the whole afternoon, and now you’re acting like you don’t even know me! Bro Lu is so mean QAQ
**Yu:** …
**Yu:** Stop whining. Join the group.
**Ge Jie Lai La:** Roger that! Coming~
………………
Ren Jie dragged Lu Yu into gaming—from dusk till dark, then from dark till dawn.
This guy was terrible at games: reckless when winning, quick to surrender when losing, and completely lost his mind at the sight of low-health enemies. Lu Yu couldn’t rein him in at all.
After an entire night of gaming, Lu Yu was utterly drained.
Gaming was exhausting—more exhausting than studying, even.
And no, he wasn’t flexing. In the heat of battle, both his mind and hands went into overdrive—his brain needed split-second calculations, and his fingers had to keep up with lightning speed.
This level of mental and physical strain was even more taxing than solving a full physics exam back when he used to study seriously.
But right now, aside from numbing himself with games, Lu Yu had nothing else to do.
**Ge Jie Lai La:** Thanks, Bro Lu! Climbed a whole tier—really appreciate it! Let’s keep grinding tomorrow~
Before closing the game, Lu Yu glanced at Ren Jie’s message, shut down his computer, quickly freshened up, and collapsed onto his bed.
He’d sweated quite a bit during the night, but he was too tired to shower—maybe he’d do it later when he woke up.
He closed his eyes on the pillow.
Then opened them again.
“?????”
Staring at an utterly unfamiliar ceiling, Lu Yu froze in shock—and fell into a long, silent stupor.
The scene had changed…
Was this a dream?
He pinched his arm, testing for pain.
But the sharp sting that shot through his nerves felt not only real—but intensely so.
“Ah… that hurts?!!”
“Huh???”
Once again, he heard that voice—familiar yet foreign.
He shot upright in bed.
Pink bedding, printed with tiny five-pointed stars—super girly, super cute—and the whole room smelled sweet and fresh.
“F… f***…”
It took Lu Yu a full half-minute of stunned silence before two crude words finally escaped his lips.
He was completely dumbfounded.
He’d thought the last body swap was just a freak accident.
But now—what the hell was happening?!
Two accidents in a row?!
He looked down at his slender, smooth arms, then lifted the corner of the blanket—revealing a cute pink rabbit-patterned nightgown.
His view of the nightgown was partially blocked by the soft swell of the chest beneath it.
Lin Beixing’s figure was undeniably well-proportioned—nowhere near anime-exaggerated, but still strikingly attractive.
Separated only by the thin fabric of the nightgown, those soft, round curves tempted him.
His hands slowly rose, almost involuntarily.
He just… wanted to test if they were soft…
*Slap!*
He smacked himself hard on the forehead.
What was he thinking?!
It was barely morning—this was way too inappropriate.
Besides, he didn’t even *have* a “thing” anymore. What was he getting worked up about?
And more importantly—this body now belonged to *him*. Was he really about to touch himself?
Lu Yu sheepishly lowered his hands.
If it were a guy’s body, he wouldn’t care—he could jerk off until he passed out.
But with a girl’s body? Absolutely not.
Snapping back to reality, Lu Yu felt a sharp pang of hunger.
No wonder—given how little Lin Beixing ate at home, her body was probably always on the verge of starvation.
He spotted a pair of slippers on the floor and got ready to step out of bed.
The moment his feet touched the ground, his vision went black.
“Ah…”
His head throbbed violently, and darkness swallowed everything.
He was about to faint.
Knowing the bed was right behind him, he tried his best to lean backward—
*Thud.*
He landed softly on the mattress.
About five minutes later, his clear eyes slowly fluttered open.
His limbs, weak and trembling, gradually regained some strength, and his vision returned.
Lu Yu knew exactly what this was.
Anemia—or low blood sugar.
Caused by poor sleep, skipping meals, or overexertion… any of these could trigger it.
For someone so young, Lin Beixing’s body was seriously messed up.
Lu Yu lay flat on his back, waiting until the dizziness passed.
When he finally tried to stand, leaning against the wall for support, he realized just how weak this body really was—far worse than he’d imagined.
He shuffled slowly around Lin Beixing’s room.
At this point, he didn’t care about privacy—he needed food. Water.
Hunger clawed at his chest, spreading through his entire body. His arms and legs grew weaker by the second.
Finally, on a small desk, he found half a cup of leftover coffee and a tin of sugar cubes.
He didn’t care if it was weird—he desperately needed energy.
He gulped down the coffee and popped five or six sugar cubes into his mouth.
The coffee was bitter and thick—Lu Yu hated coffee.
On the desk, he noticed several single-serve coffee packets torn open, all completely empty.
Lin Beixing must have stayed up all night.
Maybe she’d pulled an all-nighter—just like him.
As for why…
He didn’t even need to guess.
Since he’d woken up, he’d seen books scattered everywhere—on the bed, the nightstand, even the floor.
While the rest of her room was impeccably clean and tidy, it was overrun with textbooks, exercise books, and exam papers, turning order into chaos.
At his feet, he even spotted sheet music strewn across the floor.
The elegant musical notes looked like little tadpoles, dancing before his eyes.
Lin Beixing’s bedroom was undeniably comfortable—central air conditioning kept every room at the perfect temperature.
Every piece of furniture, every appliance—luxurious, flawless.
Yet, for some reason, standing here made Lu Yu feel suffocated, as if the air itself was pressing down on him.
Everything in this room felt like a gilded cage—
And the perfect young girl inside? Just a golden songbird, endlessly repeating the commands of those who controlled her.
*Knock knock knock.*
The rich walnut door was thick and heavy—the knocking echoed like a solemn bell.
“Beixing, are you ready? The tutor’s here.”
Lu Yu recognized that voice.
Though they’d only spoken a few times, it was seared into his memory. The moment he heard it, Lin Beixing’s body instinctively trembled.
“I’ll be right out, Mom…”
Lu Yu mimicked Lin Beixing’s tone—soft, gentle, obedient.
His fists clenched tight.
But Lin Beixing’s frail body and tiny hands were powerless.
She didn’t resist—maybe because she was used to it.
Or maybe because she craved her parents’ approval, wanted to make her family proud.
What a foolish person.
Just like he used to be.
Lu Yu bit his lip, slowly unclenching his fists.
This was her choice. Her life.
And as agreed—he would honor her wishes.
He would play her role well.
