Chapter 42 42. Hua Xin’s Defeat in a Dream 😨 — Dong Miao and Xia Yan! 🤣

Jan 19, 2026 1,528 words

Question: “Lao Hua, why are you so successful? Do you have any tips to share on how to ‘lock down’ Xia?” 😉

Hua Xin gave a faint smile: “It’s simple. Have you ever seen Los Angeles… uh… wait 🤔—Shanghai at 4 a.m.?”

With those words, Hua Xin finally stopped holding back her aura—and it radiated forth unmistakably:

Young wife energy!

——————————

In the pre-dawn hour, as the sky just began to brighten, most people remained deep in peaceful slumber, savoring the quietest moment of the day.

But inside a small, dark room...

“My gold coins🤤… Shark Demon King😡… One Piece… thirty thousand harem beauties😍…”
“I’ve come back for you all…”

Hua Xin’s drool nearly soaked her pillow. She’d kicked off the blanket long ago, revealing a flat, toned stomach. She mumbled incoherently in her sleep, brows furrowed as if haunted by something dreadful.

…………

A battlefield littered with corpses and rubble. Dust and shattered stone obscured the silhouettes of two figures.

“Dong Miao! We’re rich now…”
“Ugh! 😨”

“Weak, despicable Hero… stop struggling. You can’t win.”

“Didn’t expect this, did you? I’m the very Demon King you’ve been seeking to vanquish all along. 😈”

Behind her, the man pulled a dagger slowly from the gap in the girl’s armor. Blood sprayed instantly onto his clothes.

“Ugh… blargh🩸…”

Hua Xin turned her head with trembling effort, spat blood, and stared in disbelief at the companion who had just stabbed her in the back.

“Dong Miao… what are you talking about? 😨”
“Aren’t we comrades who’ve fought life and death together? Why would you do this?! 😭”
“You must’ve been bewitched by the Demon King! We’re brothers—we’ve always trusted each other! You’re my most reliable mage!”

Her words came out brokenly. The pain in her abdomen made her dizzy; her life force seemed to be draining away. Blood pooled beneath her, soaking her clothes.

Even with extraordinary Heroic power, she couldn’t purify the corruption inflicted by the Demon King’s tainted blade.

It hurts so much…
Why does it hurt this badly? 🥺

“Thud…”

Dong Miao shoved Hua Xin to the ground, relishing the triumph of his scheme.

He callously flipped her over with his foot and crouched down, a wicked grin spreading across his face.

“Flower Hero—do you have any idea how much effort I’ve poured into this day?”

“All this time, I—the Demon King himself—had to pretend to be just a humble mage at your side…”

His expression grew manic as he gazed at Hua Xin’s fading form, clearly enjoying every second. He reached down and pinched her pale, beautiful cheek.

“Five years… five whole years! Do you even know what I’ve been through?! Do you?! 😡”

He leaned in so close their faces were almost touching, eyes gleaming with mockery.

“The one you just killed? Just a subordinate.”
“The Great Treasure you sought? It’s already mine.”
“I’ve won. Hahahahaha!”

Hua Xin’s vision blurred, but fury kept her clinging to consciousness.

“Dong Miao… I trusted you so much…”

She gritted her teeth, trying to wrench free—but the Demon King’s corrupting power left her powerless.

“Enough.”

Dong Miao released her cheek and casually staunched her wound.

“I didn’t plan to kill you—not yet, anyway. You’re history’s first female Hero, after all.”

“For five years by your side, I’ve thought about you constantly.”

“Your height is 170 cm, weight 51 kg, cup size C+, you prefer boxers, you’re a natural blonde 😋, and still a virgin. 🥵”

“?”

Wait—
“How the hell do you know that?! 😡👊🏻”

Hua Xin wanted nothing more than to grab her Hero’s sword and cleave this smug shrimp-faced bastard in half—but she had no strength left. All she could do was clench her fists in rage.

“I’ll kill you…”
“I swear I’ll slaughter you, Dong Miao! 😭”

More than hatred, shame and humiliation overwhelmed her.

“Don’t rush.”

“Even animals grow attached after five years together.”

Dong Miao ran a hand over his own face, as if savoring a long-awaited revelation.

“I’ll take you to my hidden Demon Palace. There, we’ll ‘park our carts in the maple forest’ day and night. Whether it’s male-on-top, female-on-top, ASMR, or captivity—I’ll endlessly ‘÷’ you. 😈”

“My beautiful, foolish Heroine.”

“I’ll make you bear me a full football team of children within a year. Get ready to become my cream puff.”

“Offspring blending the bloodlines of both Hero and Demon King? They’ll be incredibly powerful, don’t you think? 🥵”

Hua Xin: 😨😰😱 (incoherent panic symbols)

What happened to the original plan—defeat the Demon King, save the world, claim One Piece, return to the empire as a beloved hero, and enjoy a life of luxury with her thirty-thousand-strong harem?! 😭

Wait a minute… this script is all wrong!!

And why am I a girl??

Where’s my dick?! DICK, COME SAVE ME!!!

“This mask’s been on so long, I almost forgot my own divine visage.”

“It’s time to discard this name too.”

With a sigh, he seemed to peel something off his face, then whispered seductively:
“My true name is…”

The mask fell.

Image

“BANG!”

“Who just used American-style iai?!”

The dream shattered. Hua Xin jolted upright in bed, hair disheveled, eyes dazed as she stared around her familiar dark room.

…………

She silently turned toward the window, where the curtains fluttered in the breeze.

For some reason, she scratched her head in exasperation, then glanced down between her legs—feeling a dull ache and a heavy, sinking sensation in her lower abdomen.

Wordlessly, she got out of bed.

“To dream something like that… I must’ve pissed off eight generations of ancestors. Guess this life really has…”

“Wait—no! In my dreams, I’m supposed to be godlike! How could a Hero possibly lose to Xia…?”

Hua Xin froze mid-step.

Then, with a twitching eye and a storm of black lines over her head, she peeled off her gray wolf-patterned underwear.

At least it wasn’t as bad as the first time…

Dreams are illusions—losing, betrayal, even Xia Yan’s smug, gloating face… all fake.

Only the bleeding was real.

She’d learned long ago to track her cycle while studying human anatomy. For the past couple nights, she’d slept with pads ready—and thankfully, everything arrived right on schedule.

After changing, Hua Xin stood silently at the sink, washing her hands.

“Dreams always go the opposite way, right?”
“So today, I win—not Xia Yan. 😋”

Having reassured herself, she looked up at the mirror.

The reflection showed a stunning young woman—and for a moment, Hua Xin felt oddly distant.

Life hadn’t changed much on the surface…

But somehow, without realizing it, she’d grown used to being a girl—even dreaming about being… 😨

No way!

Hua Xin snorted coldly, clasped her hands together like a devout saint, closed her eyes tightly, and prayed:

“In the real world?
Men and women alike can scram.”

“I will forever love Violet Evergarden.”

(And the rest of my 2D waifus too. 😇)Understood! Here'
