Chapter 41 March 7th: What Kind of People Are These?

Perhaps somewhere in the vast universe, there truly exists a world that values martial arts yet remains peaceful, where even complete strangers can casually engage in friendly, non-lethal sparring... Unfortunately, most of the battles Kevin has experienced so far have been life-or-death struggles where only one side survives. There simply aren't any rules like those found in child's play.

The fact that he's willing to merely incapacitate his opponents rather than kill them outright is entirely thanks to him having already broken free from the shackles of the Honkai and Finality.

"Unlike the people of this planet, your body seems to harbor even more profound power. So, I suppose it's fine if I let loose a bit more."

"What...?!"

Hearing Kevin's words, which sounded almost like he was seeking permission, Dan Heng was inwardly shocked.

But before he could even process the thought or say anything, he saw Kevin, who had taken a step forward, vanish from his original position. The attack that arrived in front of him in an instant only gave him enough time to barely raise his spear horizontally in front of his chest before he was struck hard.

Boom————!

This time, Dan Heng managed to block the attack with a proper stance. However, his feet, planted firmly on the ground, were forcibly plowed back several meters before he could barely steady himself. Immediately after, he could no longer hold on, relying solely on gripping his spear tightly to barely remain half-kneeling on the ground instead of collapsing completely.

Just a single strike had left his palms numb and tingling, and he even felt that his insides weren't faring too well either.

But Dan Heng's focus at this moment wasn't on the absolute disparity in strength. Instead, he was still hung up on the words Kevin had just spoken—their attire was indeed completely different from the style on Jarilo-VI. Yet, since Kevin could easily conclude they came from beyond this planet, it meant the other party most likely didn't belong to this planet either.

Most importantly, this guy not only possessed such strength and was connected to the Stellaron, but he also seemed to know something about him...

"You... you wouldn't happen to be with that guy... a Stellaron Hunter, would you?"

That madman who had been relentlessly pursuing him, even going so far as to kill everyone on the ship, had long been on the Interastral Peace Corporation's bounty list. How could Dan Heng not pay attention to that?

"......"

Dan Heng's inexplicable question actually made Kevin pause his assault slightly, but that was all.

"Unfortunately, I don't understand what you're saying, and I absolutely cannot have any connection with anyone you know."

Those who could truly be connected to him had long ceased to exist in another world.

As soon as the words fell, Kevin tightened his grip on his weapon and pressed his advantage, quickly taking two steps forward and swinging down fiercely at Dan Heng, who was half-kneeling on the ground.

And just as Kevin had described, the strength that should have been completely drained in the previous clash... inexplicably, an endless surge of power welled up from within his body once more. The spear in his hand rose against the incoming attack—

Clang——!

Kevin's swinging baseball bat was successfully blocked by Dan Heng. However, it wasn't because Dan Heng had surpassed the other in strength; rather, the gentle breeze swirling around the spear's tip cleverly diverted the point of impact of the attack.

Since he was completely overpowered in terms of raw strength, he would try to find a breakthrough point through unique techniques.

"Now... Gale Breaks Calamity!"

A violent gust of wind instantly erupted around Dan Heng. As the snow covering the ground was blown into the air, obscuring vision, the real attack swept in fiercely from the left like a raging gale.

Boom————!

Unfortunately, this seemingly certain-to-hit strike was still effortlessly blocked by Kevin. Powerful technique could indeed achieve the effect of "using four ounces to deflect a thousand pounds"—but who said Kevin's strength was only a thousand pounds?

"Magnificent and imposing spear technique. Very impressive."

Whether from the perspective of force application or the intent behind the attack, this technique was nearly perfect—far superior to that strange move the girl used earlier.

It's just that the hint of rigidity hidden within the attack couldn't be shaken off at all. It probably was some basic military drill technique. Practical as it may be, the unavoidable standardization that comes with it is also inevitable.

"Well then, now it's my turn to return the favor—"

Flicking away the spear resting against his baseball bat, Kevin pivoted his body. The weapon that seemed laughable in the eyes of most people now carried an indescribable sense of oppression as he swung it.

Dan Heng even had a momentary illusion—it was as if what Kevin held in his hand now wasn't a baseball bat, but a majestic greatsword.

The skill honed through life and death didn't require any superfluous templates; it held only the unwavering conviction to take a life with a single strike.

Impossible... I can't block this?!

In this illusion that inexplicably surfaced in his mind, Dan Heng was completely overwhelmed from a conviction standpoint. He could only rely on his body's subconscious to block with his spear across his chest and solidly take this hit.

Boom————!

Kevin didn't possess the other party's ability to manipulate wind elements. However, the wind pressure stirred up by his weapon completely overwhelmed the wind Dan Heng had just summoned. The entire courtyard, and even the snow on the rock face a thousand meters ahead, were swept clean simultaneously.

It was also fortunate that the weapon in Dan Heng's hands was of sufficiently good quality. Otherwise, it probably wouldn't have been just him being sent flying.

"Dan Heng, don't be afraid! This girl is back to help you... Huh?"

This seemingly complex battle had actually taken less than half a minute. By now, March 7th had just overcome the pain in her rear and gotten up from the ground. Drawing her bow and looking around, she happened to see Dan Heng flying over her head.

In a way, this probably counted as "what goes around comes around," right?

But with Dan Heng lying there motionless, butt up and head tilted... what about the enemy?

March 7th looked toward Kevin, who was also looking at her. Remembering the pain she had just suffered in her rear end, she involuntarily shivered.

She was going to have withdrawal symptoms!!!

"You, you, you... I'm warning you, don't come any closer! Otherwise... otherwise... otherwise this girl is going to take action!"

March 7th raised her longbow menacingly, attempting to scare off her opponent. But this couldn't even be considered a bluff; it could only fool herself.

Dealing with this silly girl, Kevin couldn't even be bothered to waste words. Under March 7th's gradually terrified gaze, he directly deflected the incoming arrow and closed in rapidly. Then came another solid bat strike that sent her flying hard once more.

No need for unnecessary communication. He just needed to knock this one out cold, and the fight would naturally end.

While flying backward into the sky this time, March 7th once again luckily passed by Stelle, who was jumping down. However, just like Dan Heng, Stelle showed no intention of saving her. In fact, within those clear eyes, March 7th seemed to see another layer of meaning.

It was as if she was saying—Oh? What a coincidence. You're here too?

What kind of people are these?!
