Chapter 48: I, the Great Hook, Challenge You to a Duel!

Time quickly arrived at the third day. Clara spent the entire night successfully repairing the various modules of Svarog, and Kevin also managed to pass a half-day of leisure. If there was one slight imperfection, it would probably be... under the sweet-talking assault of little Elysia, Clara was quickly coaxed into a daze.

Forget about holding hands or hugging and such. Early this morning, just as Clara finished the emergency repairs, her mind was still in a dazed state from not resting for too long. She was directly dragged away and forced to sleep soundly for the entire night.

Svarog, swaying his one-eyed head, always felt something wasn't quite right, but as a robot, he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Two little girls sleeping together hugging each other... that doesn't seem like a problem, right?

However, Kevin, who had been reading in the living room all night, watched Svarog pace back and forth outside Clara's bedroom door for about an hour before finally choosing to leave quietly.

If you asked him why, he would definitely say it was because Clara had been concentrating for a long time and couldn't rest properly. He waited outside the door for so long because he was worried about her health.

Of course, no matter how smart Kevin is, he couldn't possibly tell what a robot was thinking just by looking at its red eye.

He was very clear about what that Elysia was thinking, but it didn't matter. If things really escalated to an uncontrollable point, he would step in.

Since becoming a MANTIS, his daily rest time had been compressed to less than four hours. And after undergoing the 'Chimera Project' and fusing with the genes of hundreds of Honkai Beasts, sleep was no longer a necessary physiological activity for him.

Especially during the thousands of years of the new era, he had never rested even once. He had long since lost the ability to dream and forgotten what that feeling should be like.

Staying in the living room reading books all night was simply because, compared to other things, he truly had nothing else he was more interested in... Perhaps the Kevin from his student days could never have imagined that one day he would consider reading as his only hobby.

Little Elysia had dragged Clara out not long ago, and Svarog, who followed less than a minute later, said he was going to repair some broken robots. This allowed Kevin to finally enjoy another period of peaceful time.

Unfortunately, this peaceful time didn't last long. Around noon break time, Seele arrived with her and her three newly recruited companions.

"You still want to go to the Fragmentum to train your combat skills?"

Kevin didn't mind spending some time at all to cultivate a warrior for this civilization whom he found somewhat acceptable. After all, not intervening at all didn't suit his personality, and doing too much went against his principles.

But after hearing Seele's purpose for coming, Kevin's gaze only paused on her for a moment before quickly shifting to the people behind her: "But... what's the deal with these three?"

Apart from Dan Heng standing there with a normal posture, March 7th and Stelle were completely in a state of looking exhausted and listless from overindulgence, making one highly suspicious about what they did last night.

"Oh, you mean them? To prove they are capable and trustworthy, the three of them worked shifts for Natasha and Oleg all night. They've only just taken a little break now."

Speaking of this, Seele couldn't help but wear a smile on her face: "But at least the results are obvious. Not only did Natasha praise them as good kids, Oleg also decided to have a proper discussion with them about what comes next."

Simply put, a group of people pulled an all-nighter grinding dozens of quests, forcefully raising the favorability of the story characters above the passing line.

"Um, if you guys are going for training, can you take us along?"

Hearing their conversation, Stelle, who was originally somewhat listless, immediately came over. Her thoughts were simple; she merely wanted to learn the 108 ways to use a baseball bat.

"Huh? You're not really still thinking about going for combat training, are you?"

Compared to Stelle, March 7th was completely different. Exhausted until now, she just wanted to find a big bed and sleep soundly.

"Don't talk about wanting or not wanting. You don't have time for any training, and even less time for rest." Seele very cruelly poured cold water on them. "You have to go find Chief Oleg soon to discuss the next steps. This is very important and can't be delayed for even a moment."

"Huh???"

How can they exploit labor like this!

"But if that's the case, wouldn't that Earthfire chief have even less rest time than us?"

Seeing March 7th's reluctant face, Stelle gently placed her hand on her shoulder to comfort her: "So let's not complain so much."

After all, they joined halfway. It's not like they came purely to help. Earthfire's original goal didn't necessarily include overthrowing the Supreme Guardian. And indeed, they must seal the Stellaron before the Astral Express can leave this planet.

If we start saying things like "We're sealing the Stellaron to save your planet anyway," wouldn't that be complete moral blackmail?

"I wasn't thinking that much. I'm just sad that I can't rest properly." March 7th waved her hand weakly in response.

Whether it's an amazing big shot or a cute girl-next-door type beauty, neither should be associated with overtime work, right? Shouldn't she be both?

"Since it's decided, stop chatting and hurry up. After dropping you off, I still need to go train in the Fragmentum."

That seemingly insurmountable gap in strength didn't dampen Seele's fighting spirit; instead, it made her even more determined. After all, if Kevin could be that strong, doesn't it mean she could also become that strong in the future?

The question is whether she'll just give up completely when she sees how ridiculously large the real gap is?

Dropping March 7th and the others off at the Earthfire chief didn't take much time either. Kevin and Seele soon set off on their journey to the Fragmentum. But they had only walked halfway when a roadblock inexplicably jumped out from the roadside.

"Hey! That handsome-looking uncle over there! You stop right there!"

"I am the boss of the Mole Gang! You can address me as—the Great Hook of Darkness!"

"Hook?" Seeing this little girl who only reached his chest, Seele immediately frowned: "What are you doing here?"

"Sister Seele, don't interfere!"

The little girl angrily shook her fist and immediately pointed her finger at Kevin, who was at least four heads taller than her—

"—Right now, immediately! The Great Hook demands a fair and just underground boxing match with you!!!"
