Chapter 29 Chapter 29 You’re Pretty Cute Part 3
Xu Yecheng’s expression stiffened. What the hell? Why is this guy here!?
He Xiaohan’s gaze swept across her face—her skin was fair, her eyes clear and beautiful, her lips softly pressed together, and her face a little pale from being startled.
When their eyes met, Xu Yecheng instinctively looked away, instantly feeling embarrassed.
He was wearing protective goggles, holding an empty beaker in his hand, fully geared up as if doing an experiment.
“What’s wrong?” He Xiaohan noticed her sneaky glance and asked in a low voice.
“Nothing.” Xu Yecheng panicked a little, her voice crisp and soft.
He Xiaohan frowned as he watched her turn away and continue down the stairs. His expression, however, carried a hint of amusement.
He turned back to washing the experimental equipment, but the image of her face lingered in his mind. He had noticed the beauty mark at the corner of her eye—it gave him an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
A very pretty girl… He felt like he had seen her somewhere before.
After washing the beaker, He Xiaohan straightened up again.
Why did she seem a little afraid of him?
Was she the shy, self-conscious type?
Her evasive gaze flashed across his mind again, and his eyes dimmed slightly.
Xu Yecheng quickly walked down the stairs, the hem of her skirt swaying with her movements.
Running into He Xiaohan here wasn’t unusual—just bad timing.
Probably another broken faucet in the lab, forcing him to come out to clean equipment.
Her heart was still pounding.
Hopefully he didn’t notice anything strange… She felt she looked normal enough right now.
Xu Yecheng reached the bottom floor, took her ID card out of her bag, and slowly headed toward the stadium field.
A breeze swept past, and her legs instantly felt a cold chill. She felt uncomfortable all over, especially when she could sense the glances from male students walking by.
It was embarrassingly shameful.
She took a deep breath. This feeling—somewhere between wearing clothes and not wearing clothes—was hard to describe.
She reached the storage lockers by the field, scanned the QR code with her phone, paid the deposit, put her belongings inside, and locked the door.
That should be fine.
Holding her phone and ID in her hands, she sighed. That’s the downside of wearing skirts—no pockets. Everything had to be held.
Just then, a male student suddenly stepped in front of her.
He had a crew cut, black-rimmed glasses, dark skin, and looked fairly sturdy.
“Junior, could I borrow a bit of your time?”
Xu Yecheng frowned immediately, feeling a surge of irritation.
“What is it? I’m in a hurry.”
Seeing her impatient look, the boy smiled politely.
“Ah, well… I’m doing this social practice project, and—”
“Nope nope nope, don’t ask me. I don’t have time.”
Before she even agreed, he had already started his pitch.
Xu Yecheng turned around and walked away without giving him any chance to continue.
“H-hey, junior…”
She hated these overly friendly types. “Social practice” was usually just code for pushing products.
The boy wiped sweat off his forehead. She looked so approachable, but her personality was brutally direct.
Xu Yecheng scanned her ID and left campus, finally making it to the café.
“I’m here,” she messaged the manager.
“Great! Enter the café and tell the front desk you’re here for an interview. They’ll let you in.”
Taking a deep breath, Xu Yecheng pushed open the door. The café’s retro style looked the same, but today it seemed busier than yesterday.
She approached the counter, where the receptionist greeted her with a friendly smile.
“Hello, what can I get for you?”
“I’m here for an interview. Where should I go…?” Xu Yecheng suddenly felt nervous, her voice pitching up slightly.
Hearing she was here for an interview, the receptionist looked pleasantly surprised. She opened the small door by the counter and said:
“Girl, go straight in—there’s a door inside. The manager’s in that room.”
Hearing her call her “girl,” Xu Yecheng felt a little floaty inside.
Yes… at this moment she was a girl…
“Okay, thank you,” she said, heading toward the manager’s office.
Her nerves tightened again…
What would the manager think?
She knocked on the door, and her familiar voice responded from inside.
“Come in~”
Xu Yecheng pushed the door open and saw the manager dressed in a maid outfit.
The manager tidied her hair, looked at Xu Yecheng’s face, and showed a hint of confusion.
“And you are…?”
Xu Yecheng instantly felt awkward.
“I… uh, Manager, it’s me—Xu Yecheng.”
The manager blinked, examined her face, and froze.
“It’s really you? Wow—your crossdressing level is insane!”
She stepped closer, studying Xu Yecheng’s face carefully.
Being stared at like that made Xu Yecheng uneasy.
“You’re not even wearing makeup!?” the manager exclaimed, checking her from side to side. Realizing Xu Yecheng was barefaced, she became even more shocked.
“I… uh…” Xu Yecheng looked troubled.
“Wait—so you naturally look like this?” The manager said, her gaze falling onto the ID card. “Let me see your ID.”
Xu Yecheng hesitated.
“Oh, don’t worry! You look great—your voice is natural too. Very impressive. I’m satisfied. Come on, give me the ID so I can register you.”
Reluctantly, Xu Yecheng handed it over. She really didn’t have much confidence in her appearance.
The manager took the ID card, glanced at the photo—and froze.
“…You’re REALLY Xu Yecheng?”
Xu Yecheng stiffened. She suddenly felt that slight peeling sensation on her face. Shocked, she quickly pressed her hand to her cheek to hold the mask in place.
The manager frowned, watching Xu Yecheng slap herself, even more confused.
“It’s me…” Xu Yecheng said helplessly. After confirming the mask was secured, she finally relaxed.
That was close…
She sighed internally.
“How come it feels like you’re two completely different people?”
The manager stared at her face again, baffled.
“This is so weird… Think of a way to prove it’s actually you.”

Later…
After washing his face, Xu Yecheng came out and saw Zheng Wenxuan holding the mask—and bringing it toward his own face.
Xu Yecheng froze. That wasn’t…
He reached into his pocket—empty.
In Zheng Wenxuan’s hand was—
“NO!”
He shouted, but too late. Zheng Wenxuan had already pressed the mask onto his face and even smoothed it down.
He froze. A cold, slick sensation spread across his skin.
Oh no…
His height suddenly shrank, his body becoming slender and graceful.
“What? The— What the hell is this!?” Zheng Wenxuan shrieked, his voice becoming soft and feminine in an instant.
