Chapter 24 Chapter 24: The Talk

Jan 16, 2026 1,156 words

In life, eight or nine out of ten things go against our wishes, and only two or three can be spoken of to others.

Work brings endless trivial matters, the body suffers occasional small ailments, emotions stumble over bumps and bruises. Troubles follow like shadows. Push down one gourd, another floats up.

Facing the gaze of two teachers, Su Yuan could not help but feel nervous.

Instructor Qin was a woman in her thirties, dignified and composed. Since she was Su Yuan’s own class advisor, Su Yuan did not feel as tense as with Teacher Wang. Yet revealing embarrassing matters in front of someone familiar was even more mortifying.

“Su Yuan…” Instructor Qin looked at her student with complicated feelings. She had been told there was an issue involving someone from her class. Only upon arrival did she learn it was Su Yuan.

And the matter was that a woman’s bra had been found in Su Yuan’s wardrobe.

What kind of situation was this.

Su Yuan was usually obedient and well behaved, and attractive too. Instructor Qin had always thought well of her. Her first thought was that there must be some misunderstanding. Before coming she had wondered which student had erred, never imagining it was Su Yuan. But Teacher Wang confirmed there was no mistake. The bra had indeed been found in Su Yuan’s wardrobe. Instructor Qin had no choice but to take it seriously.

She had heard about the underwear thief in the girls’ dorm, but she did not believe Su Yuan was that culprit. After discussion she was relieved that Teacher Wang also did not suspect Su Yuan. Otherwise things would be far worse.

Still, the fact remained. A bra had been found in Su Yuan’s wardrobe.

Could it be that Su Yuan’s psychology was abnormal.

Both teachers thought of this at once.

Looking at Su Yuan’s increasingly delicate appearance, Instructor Qin felt the suspicion grow stronger. The saying about boys who look like girls usually meant only a slight resemblance. Yet Su Yuan looked more beautiful than many actual girls. Calling her a boy seemed hard to justify.

There were even rumors. Some teachers had jokingly discussed the gender of a certain student. That student was Su Yuan.

This seemed to confirm the suspicion.

...

Su Yuan had expected harsh criticism, perhaps even punishment. But instead Teacher Wang and Instructor Qin spoke gently, offering guidance rather than blame.

Listening, she realized they thought her psychological gender was confused.

Her face flushed crimson. What a huge misunderstanding. No, wait. Remembering her transformation, she felt conflicted. Yet perhaps this was a chance. She could not hide forever. If something happened, she would need support at school.

If she told them she was actually a girl, would that not be better.

Better than being thought mentally confused. Her mind spun, weighing gains and losses. She felt this was workable. In this situation, there seemed no other choice. A desire to confess rose within her.

“Wait, Teacher Wang, Instructor Qin.” She raised her hand to interrupt their guidance.

They looked at her in surprise. Few students would dare interrupt teachers like this. She gathered her courage. “There is something I have never said…”

“…Actually, I am a girl.”

The two teachers exchanged looks. In their eyes, this “boy” had a serious psychological shadow. His condition was severe, unable to distinguish fantasy from reality.

“Su Yuan, we know you want to be a girl, but you are still a boy…”

No, this was not how the script should go.

Seeing them about to continue their patient guidance, she knew she had to act decisively. Otherwise her “condition” would seem worse.

“Wait. I am telling the truth.” She shut the office door and returned. “Listen to me.”

Her eyes darted. She began to weave a story.

In her tale, she had been born female but with a rare condition. Raised as a boy, later her family discovered the truth. Her body had been corrected, but her psychology had not fully adjusted. She still carried strong male traits.

The story was smooth, convincing even to herself. The teachers moved from doubt to shock. “You mean… you are actually a girl, only corrected late, so your psychology is not fully female.”

She nodded painfully. “Yes. My family discovered it in middle school. My body was corrected, but my mind has not fully recovered.”

Instructor Qin nodded in realization. Looking at Su Yuan’s delicate features, she saw the truth of it.

The two teachers exchanged glances. They seemed convinced. Yet they asked cautiously. “Do you have proof.”

“Yes. I have a medical record card.” Su Yuan remembered her previous report and answered calmly.

Teacher Wang said, “Go back for now. We understand. Later bring us your medical record card.”

Relieved, Su Yuan left. At the door she asked, “Please keep this secret. Do not tell others.”

“Go on. We understand.”

She left.

Afterward Teacher Wang sighed. “I never imagined it would be like this. Instructor Qin, what should we do.”

“The strategy must change. We thought she was a boy with female psychology. Now we see she is a girl with male psychology. That bra must be hers.”

Teacher Wang nodded. “I noticed her chest. She is indeed female. But she asked us not to tell others…”

Instructor Qin shook her head. “We should respect her choice. For now we observe.”

“But she is a girl living in a boys’ dorm. That could be dangerous. If word spreads…”

“Yes, this cannot continue.”

They discussed. They felt it was important for Su Yuan to regain proper gender identity. Teachers must guide students in both study and psychology. Suddenly Teacher Wang had an idea. “If she experienced a romance, might it help her condition.”

Instructor Qin was startled. “You mean with a boy.”

Teacher Wang nodded. “Perhaps with her dorm mates.”

Instructor Qin reviewed them. “Yang Xiaowei often stays off campus and already has a girlfriend. That leaves Ji Yehao and Gao Jun.”

Teacher Wang spoke suggestively. “Do you not think Ji Yehao looks good. Since Su Yuan does not want to move out, if the two of them…”

Instructor Qin was shocked. “The two of them. Impossible. We are teachers. We cannot make such absurd decisions.”

The school did not forbid student romance. Teachers often joked about it. Given Su Yuan’s special case, it might even help. Yet reason told her it was too risky.

Seeing her objection, Teacher Wang dropped the idea. “Then forget it. But you should still talk to Ji Yehao and Gao Jun. Subtly remind them not to bully Su Yuan.”

Instructor Qin nodded. “Alright. I will speak with them.”
