Chapter 60 Chapter 60: Clearly a Girl

Jan 16, 2026 929 words

Su Yuan’s outfit today was stylish; headset on, she looked poised and elegant.

“Hello, hello!” She adjusted the mic near her lips, testing the sound.

On screen, Su Yuan appeared. Hearing a girl’s voice, Mo Ying tightened her grip on the mouse, smiling faintly. “Wasn’t Su Yuan supposed to chat with me? Why is a girl here—are you all trying to trick me?”

Suspicion swirled in her mind. She smoothed her hair, eyes fixed on the screen.

Though the video was distorted, the figure’s delicate beauty was clear. Mo Ying no longer feared her boyfriend was secretly chatting with another girl. She wondered instead: why was there a girl in dorm 330? Was she Yehao’s girlfriend, or Gao Jun’s? As for Xiaowei’s claim that this was Su Yuan—she didn’t believe it. She remembered Su Yuan’s face clearly. Looking closely… the person did resemble him.

Could she be his sister?

“Su Yuan?” Mo Ying tested.

“Mm.”

Su Yuan had just put on the headset. Hearing Mo Ying’s voice, she naturally replied. Mo Ying froze, uneasy.

“Mo Ying, weren’t you going to chat with me? Why so quiet?”

Mo Ying’s mind stalled. Is this really Su Yuan? Not his sister? She snapped, “Who are you? Why are you seducing my husband!!”

“Ah! What?”

Mo Ying smirked. “You’re clearly a girl!”

Su Yuan panicked, nearly biting her tongue. “I’m not a girl—I’m a boy!!”

“Liar. You must be seducing him. What’s your relationship?”

Su Yuan groaned inwardly. It’s my looks causing trouble. She thinks I’m female.

She regretted agreeing to video chat. She didn’t want to cause problems between Xiaowei and Mo Ying. “I have nothing to do with Xiaowei. Look—we’re in the dorm. Yehao and Gao Jun are here too.” She turned the camera.

“I don’t believe it!!”

Su Yuan sighed. Some girls were stubborn.

“I really am a boy,” she insisted.

“Then take off your shirt—let me see.”

Su Yuan froze. That would only make things worse.

“Silent now?” Mo Ying pressed.

Su Yuan thought quickly. “Then… I’ll take off my pants to prove it.”

Surely that would scare her off.

But—

“Fine, do it.”

“Pfft!” Big sister, don’t be so bold—your boyfriend’s here! Su Yuan muttered, “There are others here… not appropriate.”

“Hmph. No shirt, no pants—you’re just afraid. Boys have Adam’s apples. Show me yours.”

Adam’s apple?

“Some boys don’t have visible ones,” Su Yuan said awkwardly. Hers was gone after transformation.

“Forget it. Let Xiaowei talk to me.”

Su Yuan handed back the headset, defeated. Mo Ying is tougher than I thought.

“How was it? What did you talk about?” Xiaowei asked cheerfully.

Su Yuan pouted. If only you knew…

She watched his expression closely. He showed no change. Likely Mo Ying hadn’t mentioned her doubts.

South Campus, girls’ dorm.

By noon, the building was quiet. In one room, a delicate foot peeked from under the blanket. Xiao Yiyan returned, smiling at the sight of Yan Bing still asleep. She tickled her foot.

Yan Bing sat up, annoyed. “Sister Yan, why wake me!”

“Look at the time. Get up, wash, let’s eat.”

“Oh.” Yan Bing hopped down, wearing only a small bra and shorts, slipped on slippers, and headed to the bathroom.

Yiyan shook her head. “By the way, the school’s welcome party—has your department prepared?”

“Yes.” Toothbrush in mouth, Yan Bing rinsed, then said brightly, “This year’s welcome party will combine with Mid‑Autumn and National Day. It’ll be after the holiday, around mid‑October.”

“Mid‑October?”

“Yes. The Arts and Publicity departments are already preparing. Sister Yan, you’re in the Secretariat—didn’t you know?”

Yiyan nodded. She’d been too busy as a class assistant to follow student union news.

Normally the welcome party was after military training, but this year it was special—merged with festivals.

“Oh! The notice just came. You’re busy, so of course you didn’t know. You’ll perform, right?” Yan Bing teased.

“Yes, I can’t escape.”

Yiyan sighed. As a campus beauty with talent, she was always on stage. “But this year, maybe I’ll host instead.”

Yan Bing’s eyes lit up. “That’s great! You’ll be amazing!” She added, “Minister Zuo wanted Minister Su to perform, but she refused—said she couldn’t.”

“You mean Su Yuan? What talent does she have?”

“No idea. She’s so low‑key, no one knows.”

Yiyan nodded thoughtfully. Mentioning Su Yuan stirred mixed feelings. Last time she’d used Su Yuan as a shield, because she respected her. But later she regretted it. Pursuers like Lin Jun didn’t stop, and Su Yuan’s reputation suffered. Yiyan knew her own fans caused it.

Su Yuan became the center of rumors, with all kinds of slander. Yiyan herself was dragged in too. Truly a mess.

“Xiao Bing, what do you think of Minister Su?” she asked.

“Minister Su?” Yan Bing thought. “She’s pretty.”

Yiyan laughed. “Pretty? I meant her character.”

“She’s nice. No schemes, easy to get along with.”

So—pretty, and a good person.
