Chapter 54 Chapter 54: Beauty Like a Painting
“Is this really okay?” Gao Jun looked at the excited Su Yuan, doubting. It felt less like pursuing a beloved woman and more like raising a pet cat. Yet the picture Su Yuan painted was intoxicating to any man.
“It’s fine, young man! With effort, conquering Xia Linfei will be like reaching into a bag. Remember: she strong, let her be strong—like the breeze brushing the hill; she fierce, let her be fierce—like the moon shining on the river.”
Su Yuan’s face flushed; she was the first to get carried away.
“What if I confess and she rejects me?” Gao Jun asked, still somewhat rational.
“You fool. I’ve said it many times—show your dominance. If she resists, grab her, block her lips with yours before she reacts. If that works, press forward—whether breaking through her defenses or using your hands, show your dominance.”
Ji Yehao frowned, stopping Su Yuan. “That’s terrible advice. If Gao Jun did that, we’d be visiting him in detention.”
“Hmph! Yehao, you’ve got a handsome face but act like an iceberg. That’s why you, like Gao Jun, have no girlfriend. If you were dominant, none of this would be a problem!”
Yehao: “…”
His words reminded Su Yuan of reality. She added, “So do it somewhere private. Tomorrow Summer Jie will be in the biochem lab, room 203. She said if you dare, come find her.”
That last part wasn’t a lie, but Su Yuan twisted its meaning.
Gao Jun’s eyes lit up. She’s waiting for me! He repeated it in his mind, already imagining action.
Su Yuan covered her mouth, laughing. She could already picture him returning tomorrow with a red handprint on his face.
Yehao glared at her. Su Yuan grinned, gesturing for silence and giving him a thumbs‑up.
Two fools! Yehao shook his head.
…
Night fell, the breeze gentle.
Fragrance of osmanthus drifted in, clearing the stale air, soothing the day’s fatigue.
Su Yuan hummed a tune, showered, changed into clean clothes, and sat curled on a chair.
Bare feet on the seat, knees to chest, arms stretched to the keyboard. Her light movements showed her good mood.
She was chatting with Hongye on QQ.
“Did you see the clothes I bought you?” Hongye sent a smile emoji.
Su Yuan sat straighter. “Yes, I’m wearing them now.”
She looked down: black jeans, crisp and textured; a white hooded T‑shirt under a coffee‑red jacket; a pendant hanging at her chest, adding girlish charm.
The outfit was perfect.
It was unisex—on a girl, it showed spirit; on a boy, softness. Yet on Su Yuan, it revealed femininity she couldn’t hide.
She was now truly female in appearance, no matter how she tried to disguise it.
Hearing she wore the clothes, Hongye grew excited.
“I want to see! Video call!”
Hongye was captivated by Su Yuan’s beauty—fresh, pure, unadorned. She thought Su Yuan had the aura of a protagonist, destined to become a goddess.
Su Yuan scratched her ear, reluctant. I’m not a model. Why show off clothes?
But she accepted.
“Wow, you’re gorgeous!” Hongye exclaimed.
Su Yuan smiled, brushing her hair.
“You’re so elegant! The video isn’t clear enough—send me a close‑up photo!”
“Troublesome.”
Su Yuan sighed, snapped a photo with her cheap phone, and sent it.
Hongye opened it, stunned.
Su Yuan’s delicate face glowed—bright eyes, graceful brows, fair nose, soft lips, strands of hair framing her ears.
“I’m melting…” Hongye sighed dramatically.
Su Yuan laughed. “You exaggerate.”
“Not at all! My Su sister, don’t you see your charm? This photo is a nine out of ten!”
“Nine? So I’m a great beauty, a national treasure?” Su Yuan whispered, hiding from her roommates.
“Of course!”
“Don’t believe it.”
“…”
“Su Yuan, did you use the skincare I bought?”
“Yes, just tried it.”
“Good. Keep using it.”
“You’re like my mom. Even she doesn’t nag this much.”
“!!!”
Hongye: “I just don’t want your beautiful face harmed.”
“Relax, Aunt Hongye!” Su Yuan laughed.
They chatted until satisfied.
Later, Su Yuan browsed the campus forum. Her habit was to check her rumors. Surprisingly, the tide had shifted—supporters now matched detractors.
She was delighted. See, plenty of people understand me.
