Chapter 46 Chapter 46: Xia Linfei’s Home
“Yehao, Su Yuan says someone’s treating us to dinner. Can such good fortune be real?” Gao Jun asked incredulously after receiving Su Yuan’s call.
Ji Yehao nodded. “A senior invited us. Don’t dawdle—keeping her waiting would be rude.”
When they arrived at the east gate, they immediately spotted Su Yuan and Xia Linfei waiting.
Gao Jun nudged Ji Yehao, whispering, “Look at the girl beside Su Yuan. Perfect figure, beautiful face, tall, and… big chest. I’ve decided—she’s the one I’ll pursue!”
“Love at first sight?” Ji Yehao frowned. Xia Linfei’s mix of elegance and wildness could indeed stir desire, but Gao Jun’s reaction was over the top, lowering the group’s dignity.
Both boys were nearly 1.8 meters tall, dressed neatly.
Su Yuan waved to them.
But seeing Gao Jun’s lecherous look, she grew angry. This idiot is lowering the reputation of dorm 330. She elbowed him discreetly. “Can’t you show some self‑respect? It’s not like you’ve never seen a beauty.”
Realizing he might be embarrassing himself, Gao Jun straightened up.
Xia Linfei laughed softly, extending her hand. “Nice to meet you. I’m Xia Linfei. Call me Linfei or Xiao Fei.”
“I’ll call you Linfei. Xiao Fei sounds too familiar—I’m younger than you. Ow, Su Yuan, why hit me?”
Su Yuan glared. You deserved it.
Ji Yehao chuckled. “You’re being rude. Even if she’s our senior, you don’t need to emphasize her age.”
Gao Jun realized his mistake, laughed sheepishly, and felt his wit slipping.
Xia Linfei didn’t mind. “Just call me Linfei. You’re not what I imagined.”
“What did you imagine?” Gao Jun asked eagerly.
“I heard you’re into technology. I pictured a serious, meticulous man with a touch of melancholy.”
Gao Jun beamed, nudging Ji Yehao. “See? She thinks well of me.”
“That was before meeting you,” Ji Yehao muttered.
“And now?” Gao Jun pressed.
“Hey, Gao Jun, you’re pushing it,” Su Yuan interrupted.
“It’s fine,” Xia Linfei said, smiling. “Now I think you’re less steady, a bit slick, but genuine. I prefer that to stiff seriousness.”
Gao Jun felt conflicted. Unsteady, slick—those are negatives. At least she called me genuine.
“Enough. Let’s eat.” Su Yuan urged.
They found a Cantonese restaurant nearby. Su Yuan disliked spicy food, so they avoided Hunan and Sichuan cuisine. Cantonese dishes, famed for blending Kyoto, Suzhou, and Yangzhou styles, seemed worth trying.
Inside a private room, Xia Linfei patted the seat beside her. “Su Yuan, sit here.”
Su Yuan obeyed. Gao Jun sat boldly on Linfei’s other side, leaving Ji Yehao between them.
“Let’s order. Honestly, I’ve never had Cantonese food.”
Linfei’s eyes sparkled with joy.
They ordered six dishes: Wenchang chicken, assorted winter melon, steamed Tai Chi shrimp, stuffed fish maw, Buddha’s hand ribs, and Chaozhou beef balls.
The food arrived quickly. Ji Yehao poured wine for himself and Gao Jun, but when he turned to Su Yuan, Linfei stopped him. “Su Yuan and I will drink juice. You two enjoy.”
Su Yuan wanted wine but stayed silent as her glass filled with juice.
“Cheers to our meeting!” Linfei raised her glass and drained it boldly.
The others followed.
As the host, Linfei dominated the table. She served Su Yuan repeatedly, making Gao Jun jealous. She teased him by serving him once, and he ate happily.
Though they had agreed not to drink, both Su Yuan and Linfei ended up drinking. Soon they were tipsy.
“Enough, Summer Jie, stop drinking.” Su Yuan tried to take her glass.
“No… it’s fine. I’m happy… hic…”
Her eyes reddened. “So this is being drunk. My first time drinking so much…” She collapsed.
The host had fallen first.
Su Yuan, still coherent, looked at the boys. What now?
“Did you bring money?”
They exchanged glances.
“Don’t look at me,” Su Yuan said. “I’m broke.”
Gao Jun laughed nervously. “I have money, but not with me.”
Ji Yehao sighed. “Fine. I’ll pay.”
Su Yuan and Gao Jun felt guilty, but Su Yuan knew Yehao wasn’t poor.
Afterward, they carried the drunken Linfei home. She lived in a nearby residential area. Gao Jun carried her, guided by her slurred directions.
“This must be it.”
Su Yuan retrieved the key from her pocket.
It was a spacious apartment, about 140 square meters, four bedrooms, two living rooms, one kitchen, three bathrooms, fully furnished and elegantly decorated.
“Such a nice place!” Su Yuan thought. She had assumed Linfei worked part‑time and wasn’t wealthy. Now she suspected Linfei was a rich young lady.
They laid her on a bed, tucked her in, and prepared to leave.
But Su Yuan’s eyes fell on the desk. A laptop sat there.
She froze. “Damn!!”
