Chapter 10 Threats
After the villain Chi Xiaocheng went offline in the later chapters, a new villain naturally had to come online to draw the readers' hatred.
One of Su Tao's current best friends—Chen Qian!
She was the new villain introduced in the later chapters.
Chen Qian only met Su Tao after entering university, and she was a master at pretending to be innocent.
In front of Su Tao, she was a good best friend with whom she could talk about anything.
Behind Su Tao, however, she was a jealous fiend.
She and Ye Liang attended the same high school and then went to the same university. Although her family background was ordinary, Chen Qian had always harbored the ambition of marrying above her station and had long considered Ye Liang her boyfriend.
But after entering university, in just two months, Ye Liang became utterly infatuated with Su Tao.
She hated it. Why could Su Tao, an orphan from the countryside, gain Ye Liang's exclusive affection?
In the original novel, a campus basketball game was scheduled for two days later.
Dongfang Yang and Ye Liang were set to appear as opponents.
Su Tao's face had originally been disfigured by Chi Xiaocheng, but she still insisted on showing up to cheer for the two of them.
Chen Qian believed that with Su Tao's face ruined, and without her exceptionally stunning looks, Ye Liang could not possibly like her.
So, she plotted to humiliate Su Tao at the basketball game, and later even pushed Su Tao down the stairs, adding insult to injury for the already injured protagonist.

Chi Xiaocheng clenched her fists, a mischievous smirk curving her lips.
“According to the setting, she’s Su Tao’s roommate. It’s a good opportunity to go to Su Tao’s dorm to find her. If the protagonist is there, I can apply some pressure and earn more emotional value.”

That cup had several small peach stickers on it – wasn’t that Su Tao’s cup?
Who else could be the perpetrator but Chen Qian?
Chi Xiaocheng secretly took out her phone.
“Click—”
The sound rang out, startling Chen Qian inside the room. “Who’s there!”
Seeing the petite girl with twin ponytails, Chen Qian quickly hid the water cup behind her back and snapped, “Who are you, and why are you secretly photographing me!”
Chi Xiaocheng pushed the door open, a leisurely smile playing on her lips. “I was originally looking for Su Tao, but I didn’t expect such a pleasant surprise. Sister, isn’t it quite rude to put something in someone’s water cup?”
“Who... who put drugs in anything!”
Chen Qian argued, while secretly stuffing the packet of powder into her back pocket.
She glared fiercely at Chi Xiaocheng, attempting to scare her away.
Chi Xiaocheng smiled faintly and raised her phone. “I have evidence, you know.”
“Oh, you—”
Chen Qian, recalling the camera click she had just heard, turned ashen. After staring at Chi Xiaocheng’s face for a moment, she exclaimed in shock, “You’re Chi Xiaocheng?!”
“Who I am isn’t important,” Chi Xiaocheng said lightly. “What’s important is, what do you think Ye Liang would think if I sent this photo to him?”
“Oh, right!” Chi Xiaocheng also glanced towards Su Tao’s bed. “With so many men’s items on it, could it be that someone wants to take pictures and spread them around, framing Su Tao for promiscuity?”
“Oh my, if Ye Liang found out about this, he’d be so angry, wouldn’t he~”
“And that ‘someone’ would never have another chance, right?”
Chi Xiaocheng stared intently at Chen Qian, threatening words spilling from her lips. “Don’t even think about snatching the phone from me. If I just yell ‘help,’ girls from the entire building will come up to gawk, believe it or not?”
Chen Qian’s face was grim. She had no idea how Chi Xiaocheng had learned about her feelings for Ye Liang.

“Don’t be nervous, we’re on the same path.”
Chi Xiaocheng pulled up a chair and simultaneously locked the dorm door behind her. She said casually to Chen Qian, “Like you, I also intensely dislike Su Tao. You want to frame her, ruin her reputation, and win Ye Liang’s affection, right?”
“So what if I do?”
“I can help you!” Chi Xiaocheng showed her pointed little canine teeth, the villain’s characteristic smile adorning her small face. “Since you know my name, you must also know about my situation. Su Tao and I have always been at odds. I wish she were dead!”

Chi Xiaocheng smiled faintly. “You drink it first.”
Although Chen Qian didn’t know what Chi Xiaocheng was planning, she still had no choice but to do as she was told.
It was only when the bottled water entered her mouth that she suddenly realized something was wrong, her face turning ghastly pale. “Why is this water so bitter!”
Chen Qian’s eyes widened, looking at the packaging in disbelief.
It was Nongfu Spring!
And the bottle hadn’t even been opened yet. Had it expired?

Chi Xiaocheng calmly picked up the bottle, which was half-empty. “I know you want to act against Su Tao, but don’t be so hasty. For now, maintain your good friend relationship with her. Later, I’ll find a way to make her leave Ye Liang.”
“As for the antidote,” Chi Xiaocheng tilted her head, giving a charming smile, her crimson eyes seeming to glow with red light. “As long as you obediently listen to me, I’ll give it to you!”
With that, she shook her phone again. “I need you to stay with Su Tao at all times. Whatever she does, you must report it to me. I’ll add you on WeChat with a secondary account later.”
“And don’t even think about resisting.”
“You wouldn’t want your face to rot off, and for all your shameful deeds to be known by the whole school, would you?”
Chen Qian watched Chi Xiaocheng, who was turning to leave, her fear deepening.
This person was simply a devil!
She frantically gathered some of the evidence of her crime, then suddenly remembering something, she scrambled towards the door.
“The hospital, I need to go to the hospital…”
But just as she stepped out, she froze.
Chi Xiaocheng was leaning against the corridor railing, the breeze stirring her hair. Her calm gaze slowly shifted to glance at Chen Qian, as if to say—going to the hospital won’t help.

She saw the petite girl intently staring at Su Tao, her bewitching crimson eyes like those of a predator watching its prey.
