Chapter 97 Chi Xiaocheng'S Psychological Report

“Okay, Doctor.”

Chi Xiaocheng tried her best to remain calm, but to say she wasn’t nervous would be a lie. After all, it was uncertain whether her acting would even work, and on the other hand, she had no idea what questions the doctor would ask. If the questions were too tricky or targeted, she might not be able to answer them with her acting.

But to Chi Xiaocheng's surprise, the doctor's questions didn't seem so difficult. The first question asked was a common one.

“Student, is there anything that makes you feel stressed or uneasy?”

“Uhm…” Facing Doctor Chen’s inquiry, Chi Xiaocheng shook her head in confusion. “I don't think I’ve been under much stress lately.”

Doctor Chen asked again, “Then, has anything made you happy? Perhaps a personal improvement, or a change in a friend?”

The questions were perfectly normal, as normal as could be.

Chi Xiaocheng figured she had to play along, so she followed Doctor Chen’s lead and said, “Quite a few things have made me happy, mainly resolving the misunderstanding with Tao Tao.”

Doctor Chen's smile remained unchanged. “Is Tao Tao your friend? Could you tell me a bit about your story?”

“Of course.”

Spinning a story, she thought, would be perfect. She could use the psychologist's report to send a message to Su Tao: that the original Miss had always loved her.

As time went on, Chi Xiaocheng realized that Doctor Chen didn't seem to be asking questions specifically about her being yandere. It seemed he was genuinely just assessing her psychological state. While they were supposedly doctor and patient, their conversation felt more like two old friends catching up after many years.

That’s right, Tao Tao didn't send a psychologist to diagnose whether I was yandere. Maybe she already completely believes it and just wants to check on my mental well-being.

Perhaps realizing Doctor Chen was harmless and subtly guided by him, Chi Xiaocheng blended nine parts truth with one part fabrication, interspersing her intermediate acting skills. They continued talking for over an hour, following Doctor Chen's topics.

Afterward, she came out, took a sip of water, and then seamlessly transitioned to Doctor Lin, whom Si Chen had arranged.

Doctor Lin wore the same gentle, spring-breeze-like smile as Doctor Chen. “How are you, Miss Chi? Was it stressful with Doctor Chen?”

“He only talked about everyday topics with me. It wasn't as tricky as I imagined.”

Si Chen was on their side, and Doctor Lin also knew about her faking the yandere persona, so Chi Xiaocheng didn't need to hide much. She asked, “Doctor Lin, based on Si Chen's advice, does that mean the diagnostic report can't be what we agreed on?”

Doctor Lin nodded. “After this, I'll need to cross-reference the diagnostic results with Doctor Chen. He's unaware of your situation and just thinks it was a routine check-up.”

“No wonder, he didn't ask any targeted questions.”

Doctor Lin said, “Miss Chi, I'll also ask you some routine questions. It wouldn't be good if I had nothing to say for the report.”

“Okay, thank you, Doctor Lin. If the report can't be done as planned, then don't force it.”

“Mhm.”

Doctor Lin's smile was kind and her voice gentle. During their conversation, Chi Xiaocheng felt the same way she had with Doctor Chen. It was like basking in the spring breeze.

Compared to the fake Doctor Cheng she had impersonated, both of them were far, far superior in terms of detail and the rigor of their questioning. At this moment, she even had a feeling that if Su Tao were to thoroughly investigate Doctor Cheng's 'cover,' she might not be able to hide it. There had been too many loopholes in their previous conversations. Fortunately, while she didn't understand psychology, Su Tao was completely clueless about it too.

The only thing Chi Xiaocheng found a bit regrettable was that she couldn't use this diagnosis to further pressure Su Tao, playing into her scheme.

During the questioning, due to their familiarity, Doctor Lin's questions were much more aggressive than Doctor Chen's. But most of them, like Doctor Chen's, revolved around the daily interactions between her and Su Tao.

As their session neared its end, Doctor Lin took a sip of water and said softly, “From the perspective of a professional psychologist, Miss Chi, you are indeed neither a possessive nor a dependent yandere.”

Chi Xiaocheng confidently put her hands on her hips. “I've already said that a yandere wouldn't know they're a yandere. I clearly know what I'm doing and I'm rationally playing the dual roles of possessive and dependent yandere by Tao Tao's side, so naturally, I'm not a yandere.”

Doctor Lin nodded gently. “Your acting is excellent, better than many drama school students I've known.”

Chi Xiaocheng self-consciously touched her hair. “Perhaps it's just talent.”

Doctor Lin followed her lead. “Finally, may I test your acting skills? I know an old professor who wants to take on a disciple, and he insisted I recommend someone. If possible, I'd like you to meet him. Another path is another opportunity.”

“Of course.”

Chi Xiaocheng didn't think much of it, secretly activating her intermediate acting skills, and first kept her face calm. “Alright, Doctor Lin, how would you like me to perform?”

“I'll say something, and you'll act as a yandere?”

“Okay!”

A slight smile touched Doctor Lin's lips. She spread her ten fingers, brought her fingertips together, and rested her joined index fingers against her lips. Her gaze suddenly turned dark and intense. “Actually, Young Master Si Chen still likes Miss Su Tao, he just doesn't tell you on the surface.”

Instantly, a dangerous glint flashed in Chi Xiaocheng's crimson eyes. Her voice also deepened slightly. “Doctor Lin, are you telling the truth?”

Doctor Lin spread her hands, chuckling softly. “Of course, I was just joking! Your acting is truly impressive!”

Chi Xiaocheng was momentarily stunned, then proudly said as usual, “Naturally, I can easily handle Tao Tao.” With that, she stood up. “I'll leave the report to you, Doctor Lin. If you need any help from me, you can have Si Chen contact me. And regarding my situation...”

“Rest assured.” Doctor Lin rose and lightly tapped the voice recorder on the desk. “This pen is out of battery. As a psychologist, I have professional ethics. We are merely friends who hit it off immediately, aren't we?”

After shaking hands with Doctor Lin, Chi Xiaocheng felt completely at ease. Her alertness skill had not given any feedback. If Doctor Lin had any ill intentions with her information, her intermediate alertness skill would definitely have detected it.

And shortly after Chi Xiaocheng left, Si Chen also arrived. The two doctors cross-referenced their findings, with Doctor Lin responsible for the summary. In front of Dongfang Yang, Si Chen, and Su Tao, she said, “According to the diagnostic report, Miss Chi is currently in a relatively severe state of high pressure.”

“High pressure?” Su Tao was the first to question. “I see Xiaocheng as quite normal usually.”

Si Chen cast a questioning look at Su Tao, as if saying: Do you really think Chi Xiaocheng is normal?

Dongfang Yang, who understood nothing, also nodded along with Su Tao's words. “I also feel she's quite normal, just a bit foolish. Are you sure her intelligence is fine?”

Doctor Chen interjected, “Young Master, please put aside your prejudice. Chi Xiaocheng's apparent normalcy is actually because her subconscious has been constantly suppressing and hiding this pressure, and her pressure largely stems from uneasiness and anxiety.”

“Moreover, she gave me a very contradictory feeling.”

“Contradictory?”

“Yes.” Doctor Chen pushed up his glasses. “I feel that she is constantly playing the role of someone else.”
