Chapter 433 - The Dragon King Reappears

Chi Xiaocheng's perspective was different from Su Tao's.

Although they were both measuring body measurements, Chi Xiaocheng felt somewhat disappointed by Su Tao's reaction.

Perhaps because the girl's mindset hadn't been fully corrected yet, Su Tao no longer disliked girls—in fact, she even liked Chi Xiaocheng very much.

But... Su Tao's affection seemed to be limited to areas above the neck?

Earlier, Chi Xiaocheng had tried pretending to be asleep at night to see what Su Tao would do to her.

The result? Su Tao would only sneak a few kisses or bury her nose against Chi Xiaocheng's neck and hair to take a few deep breaths.

The most daring thing she did was lightly touch Chi Xiaocheng's waist—just with her fingertips or nails, never daring to rest her whole hand there!

At the time, Chi Xiaocheng wondered: Is Tao Tao just too reserved? Or does she know I'm faking sleep?

I activated Intermediate Acting skills—pretending to sleep should be easy, right?

Yet, after several nights of pretending, Su Tao never went further.

Now, seeing Su Tao's reaction while taking her measurements—even when Chi Xiaocheng was nearly naked—she realized: Su Tao is straight. Unbelievably straight.

I'm standing here, blushing and completely defenseless in front of you...

You're measuring my body, and you’re not even taking the chance to cop a feel?

Seriously, girl!

You’re way too upright!

But from Su Tao’s gaze, Chi Xiaocheng could tell there was a hint of eagerness.

Now she wasn’t sure if Su Tao was truly a blockhead who only had thoughts about her lips and nothing else.

No wonder, even after becoming a couple, this blockhead never pushed for more.

The mental barrier of her old beliefs hadn’t been fully broken yet.

Or perhaps, Su Tao hadn’t truly realized the allure of Chi Xiaocheng as a girl.

The only thing she had realized was the sweetness of those soft, pink lips.

Chi Xiaocheng had been saving up emotional points and barely managed to gather another 2,000. She considered calling Si Chen over to ask if he had really given Su Tao the glasses.

If not, she could take them back, unlock some new functions, and check Su Tao’s reactions to other parts of her body.

Ah, forget it. I’ll keep saving them for dealing with the sudden rival girl later.

Still, the best news during this time was that Tao Tao hadn’t been influenced by the World’s Will.

For now… she’d just have to keep waiting for Si Chen’s updates.

Once safety was confirmed, they could move back home and resume their normal lives.

Over the next half-month, Chi Xiaocheng and Su Tao lived relatively uneventfully.

As things gradually seemed safer, Si Chen focused entirely on investigating the Head Maid’s affairs and visited Chi Xiaocheng less often.

Even after Su Tao saw the stat glasses, the scenario System and Xiao Hei feared—where she’d explode upon seeing the numbers and her affection would drop—didn’t happen.

The World’s Will seemed stuck, making no further attempts to influence Su Tao.

Aside from being a little irritable around strangers during her period, Su Tao remained completely normal.

Even the Head Maid, whom Chi Xiaocheng and Si Chen expected to replace Chu Lingfeng in scheming, showed no signs of activity.

Things were so peaceful that Chi Xiaocheng almost wondered if the World’s Will had been secretly eliminated by System and Xiao Hei.

Once they preliminarily confirmed their safety, the two moved out of Si Chen’s villa and returned to the now-purged Jasmine Neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the Head Maid they’d been wary of was frowning as she stepped out of an off-road vehicle.

She and two suited bodyguards stood before an endless stretch of wilderness.

Even the confident Head Maid couldn’t help asking one of the bodyguards, “Are you sure this is the place? This is practically the outskirts of Jiuzhou. The nearest small town is a two-hour drive away.”

The bodyguard nodded respectfully. “According to our informant, the Dragon King is temporarily residing here.”

The Head Maid’s frown deepened. “The Asura Hall really is regressing. Each generation of Dragon Kings grows more cowardly.”

Unless there was some hidden utopia inside, she felt this trip would be a waste.

At first, it was barren, with no path in sight. After walking thousands of steps, the view suddenly opened up.

After an unknown amount of walking, she finally saw a small, bustling village.

The moment she and her two bodyguards appeared on the path outside, several armed men emerged from the grass, guns raised.

Leading them was Special Enforcer Qiu. He eyed the elegantly dressed woman in an English maid outfit and frowned. “To think you found this place alone. State your purpose, or don’t blame us for being impolite.”

The Head Maid replied coolly, “Tell your Dragon King that the Head Maid is here to see him.”

Qiu raised a brow. “Your name?”

“Just deliver the message. If I could find this place and even refer to Xiao Ming by his title, you should know I didn’t just wander here by accident.”

Qiu studied the composed woman. Even her two bodyguards showed no fear despite the guns trained on them.

He lowered his hand, signaling his men to stand down, then gave a meaningful glance to one of them.

“My apologies, Miss Maid. These are… unusual circumstances.”

He had some sense of judgment.

But the Head Maid didn’t seem interested in small talk.

Only after the subordinate returned and whispered to him did Qiu lead her into the village. “This way, Miss Maid. My earlier rudeness was uncalled for.”

The Head Maid shook her head calmly. “You were just doing your job. More importantly—why is this your base? And why does it look like… a construction site?”

The village’s current state was bizarre.

On one side were crumbling mud-brick houses.

On the other, normal houses were being built and renovated. Tattooed men in suits had transformed into construction workers, hauling bricks and mixing cement—a comical sight.

Qiu coughed awkwardly. “The Dragon King has his reasons.”

They soon reached the village center, where Xiao Ming sat cross-legged on the ground, slurping instant noodles with disheveled hair, reading a comic book like a ruffian.

When he noticed the Head Maid at the door, he noisily sucked in a strand of noodles and waved lazily. “Someone, entertain our guest.”

As soon as the Head Maid sat on a handmade wooden chair, a subordinate handed her a freshly steamed cup of Master Kong pickled cabbage beef noodles—extra beef.

“For you, ma’am. Hope you like the flavor.”

The Head Maid stared at the greasy cup noodles, her face darkening.

“Xiao Ming, after half a year back in the country, you’ve fallen so low even dogs wouldn’t envy you.”

Xiao Ming chuckled, unbothered.

“Miss Song Liyin, with that sharp tongue of yours, no man would want you. Though, I am surprised you returned early. Don’t tell me… the Young Lady is back too?”
