Chapter 424 The Belated Glasses

Eventually, Su Tao couldn't resist the adorable face of Chi Xiaocheng as she leaned in close. Even though it was time to pack, she still spent some time cuddling with the girl.

Then, she used the excuse that Si Chen and the others would be back soon to urge Chi Xiaocheng to hurry up and choose a room.

For safety reasons, she definitely shouldn't pick one facing that building, even if the building was already under control.

Chi Xiaocheng understood this, and so did Su Tao.

Watching the latter go to choose a room, Su Tao couldn't help but sigh helplessly.

She turned around and opened her suitcase.

Inside were some clothes to change into, some skincare products, her worn-out drawing tablet and laptop she used for work.

"She even brought that Grey Wolf pillow with her."

Su Tao continued to rummage through the suitcase, finding some other dispensable little trinkets.

Dawang and Xiaoran's things weren't brought, probably because they couldn't catch those two mischievous cats.

"She brought everything she needed, huh? I guess she's planning to stay here for at least half a month."

Su Tao sighed. Just as she was about to put things away neatly, she saw a small bag next to her.

Inside was a piece of cloth wrapping something. Unwrapping it, she found a pair of glasses that had been stored separately, probably because she couldn't find the glasses case.

They were somewhat simple and old-fashioned, but with a touch of futuristic design.

Su Tao picked up the glasses and couldn't help but recall the strange things Si Chen had said when he gave them to her.

"He seemed to say that these glasses can show me Xiaocheng's feelings for me?"

Su Tao didn't quite remember.

But the most memorable thing he said was that it was some kind of black technology. As long as she wore these to look at Chi Xiaocheng a few times, she'd understand everything.

"How odd."

Su Tao picked up the glasses, tilted her head, and took a few glances. She was about to put them on to try them out when she heard Chi Xiaocheng's voice from behind, "Taotao, what do you think of the rooms here?"

Su Tao was taken aback and quickly put the glasses down again. She turned to look at Chi Xiaocheng, who was standing a bit away near the doorway. "Did you choose a room? Let me see."

Following Chi Xiaocheng to a room on the left corner, Su Tao saw the interior.

It was a bit simple, but it was very spacious.

There was a large bed against the wall, next to which was a wall with posters. The wall had a small window facing east. If the sun came out in the morning, it would shine right through the window.

In addition, there was a fully equipped desk, a computer desk, two large wardrobes, and a large balcony outside facing the inside of the complex, with excellent views and lighting.

A few potted plants placed here and there added a touch of fresh greenery to the room.

The only downside...

"The bed doesn't seem as small as you said, Xiaocheng."

Chi Xiaocheng said helplessly, "Si Chen's beds are all the same size, very big. Two people can roll around on it without falling off. There's no choice, it just depends on the location and the room's decorations."

Su Tao nodded. "Since you've decided on this room, I'll contact Dongfang Yang and have him send another set of new bedding."

Choosing a room was actually very quick. After putting away the luggage and hanging the clothes in the closet, it was done.

Before anyone moved in, the place was cleaned every day, so there was hardly any dust.

After a brief tidying up, Su Tao didn't even have time to chat with Chi Xiaocheng before Dongfang Yang sent people to deliver various groceries.

As Su Tao busied herself in the kitchen, noon quickly arrived.

The first to return wasn't Si Chen, but Chi Song, who was led back by a woman in professional attire.

"This is it. If you need anything else, please feel free to call me."

The young woman in charge of reception for the complex helped Chi Song press the doorbell of Chi Xiaocheng's home and left with a warm smile.

Chi Song nervously straightened his collar until the moment the door opened, and he saw the girl he had been longing for with an adorable smile, "Brother! You're here!"

The slight nervousness in his heart was dispelled by the girl's smile. Chi Song nodded calmly, "Sorry for disturbing you, Little Sister."

"Really, we're family, why would you say that, Brother?"

Chi Xiaocheng grabbed Chi Song's only free arm and practically dragged him into the house.

Perhaps hearing the commotion outside, Su Tao, who was busy in the kitchen, also stuck her head out. Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, she wore an apron, and her smile was equally heartfelt, "Chi Song, you're here! Sit down for a bit, I'm still cooking."

Chi Song scratched his head, feeling embarrassed. "I'm sorry, Xiaotao. I didn't protect you guys well, and you got hurt."

Su Tao was stunned for a moment, then smiled brightly. "What are you talking about? You've been protecting us for a long time and helped us a lot, so don't beat yourself up."

"That's right," Chi Xiaocheng added. "Brother, you're being sentimental. We're siblings, we're family. Do you think I would think that way? We're fine, and you're fine, that's the best thing."

"Alright, alright, sit down over there. Brother, tell me some of your adventure stories from before."

"What adventure stories? Just some shady things I did on the streets."

Chi Song's words were helpless, but surprisingly happy.

He did so much just to ensure that his little sister grew up safe and sound.

Being admired by his sister would make any older brother proud, right?

Chi Xiaocheng brought it up, and Chi Song didn't hide anything from her. He embellished the story of how he and Brother Long carried bricks on the construction site and how they defeated the leader of the opposing construction site to steal their bricks.

As the aroma wafted from the kitchen, Dongfang Yang and Si Chen also walked in from outside one after the other.

As soon as one foot stepped through the door, Dongfang Yang's exclaimed in amazement, "Wow! This smells amazing! What kind of soup are you making? Su Tao, your culinary skill points are so high?"

Su Tao carried a large pot of thick soup to the table. "I didn't really learn it on purpose. I used to cook for Xiaocheng often, and I gradually got the hang of it."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, you truly are the perfect white moonlight type of girl," Si Chen said with a sigh.

Unfortunately, he was a career man, and such a girl was a lesbian. In either case, he, Si Chen, would never love Tao.

But this compliment didn't earn him a good look from the girl.

Even though Si Chen said that, Su Tao still glared at him.

Don't think that saying such nice things will make me forget that you let Xiaocheng into your room last night, and Xiaocheng ran out with a flushed face!

Su Tao turned her head and returned to the kitchen, leaving Si Chen and Dongfang Yang staring at each other.

"What did I do to make her angry again?"

Dongfang Yang stroked his chin, thinking for a long time. "It shouldn't be your fault. Maybe Su Tao is on her period. Women tend to be irritable during that time, it's normal."

His voice wasn't loud, but it still reached the kitchen.

Immediately, Su Tao's voice came out again, "Dongfang Yang! You're washing the dishes after we finish eating!"

"Ah?"

Dongfang Yang's expression was first confused, then became helpless. "See? Women are just trouble."
