Chapter 437 New Emotional Value Tool-Person

Chi Xiaocheng rarely attended classes and, due to her outwardly reclusive personality, wasn't familiar with most of her classmates. Yet, she had still been a classmate with everyone for a whole semester.

While not knowing everyone, she at least had some impression of the names of the students in her class.

Luo Ying.

I've never heard of this person, yet she's generating emotion points for me!

And 10 points in one go—that's quite a lot!

She really wanted to find this classmate named Luo Ying immediately and extract a hefty amount of emotion points from her, but class was still in session.

She could only slink in through the front door, head bowed, and quickly duck into her usual seat—the corner seat by the window on the left side of the first row.

It was only after she sat down that she noticed the teacher standing by the back door, yet the lecture, which had just ceased, had resumed.

If the teacher wasn't at the front, who was lecturing?

Chi Xiaocheng looked up and saw an unfamiliar girl on the podium, holding a microphone and continuously explaining the PPT slides displayed on the electronic whiteboard.

Even while standing on the podium, the girl's voice was remarkably smooth and steady, clear as flowing water, naturally putting people at ease. Based on her voice alone, the first impression was that of a gentle yet lively girl next door.

Looking up, her appearance perfectly matched her voice: ancient ink-black hair tied into a simple ponytail, a high nose bridge, and small, soft, full lips.

Her face, rather than being exquisite, was more beautiful and refined—clearly the type that seemed ordinary at first glance but grew more appealing the longer you looked.

As Chi Xiaocheng looked, the girl pushed up her black square-framed glasses and, coincidentally, glanced back at Chi Xiaocheng with a look of surprise.

Their eyes met. After a brief moment of hesitation, the girl continued explaining the PPT.

That's odd. Why did her gaze feel so strange?

As this thought crossed Chi Xiaocheng's mind, she saw the girl step down from the podium after finishing her PPT presentation and walk straight towards her.

Chi Xiaocheng looked up at her. "Classmate, can I help you?"

The girl paused. "Um, classmate, this is my seat. I was just sitting here."

"Huh?"

Chi Xiaocheng immediately stood up, feeling a blush of embarrassment.

No wonder the seat felt warm when she sat down, and the other person kept glancing at her.

Before, this spot was always left for her by classmates; Chi Xiaocheng truly didn't know anyone else sat there.

She quickly apologized, "Oh, I'm so sorry. Just a moment, I'll go sit a bit further out."

"It's fine." The girl simply sat directly beside her. "I'll just sit here. Could you hand me that storage bag under the desk, the one on the left against the wall?"

"Oh, right, I'm really sorry."

Chi Xiaocheng bent down and handed her the item. "I'm truly sorry. I've been on leave for half a month, and when I just came in and saw no one, I thought no one sat here."

"It's nothing, just a seat. I started sitting here because not many students sit in the first row, and the corner is quieter."

She took the storage bag Chi Xiaocheng offered, put a USB drive inside, then pulled out a thin laptop. Under Chi Xiaocheng's slightly puzzled gaze, she opened the laptop.

What first appeared on the screen was a scene from a TV show, followed by another document filled with densely packed text.

Chi Xiaocheng leaned closer to read the words, and her eyes suddenly widened. "Are you writing a novel?"

Seriously, girl? You just finished your PPT, and the teacher is right there at the lectern directly opposite. You're writing a novel in class, right in front of them?

The girl quickly shushed Chi Xiaocheng. "Don't be so loud! You know the teacher is right there."

Chi Xiaocheng quickly nodded, giving her a knowing look.

The girl glanced at the teacher fiddling with the teaching materials. Seeing no reaction, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Class is boring, right? And I don't want to listen to all that. This spot is the perfect blind spot; it's great for pretending to take diligent notes while actually slacking off!"

"Oh, by the way, I'm Luo Ying. You're Chi Xiaocheng, aren't you?"

Hearing the girl's self-introduction, Chi Xiaocheng was stunned. This person was actually the 'NPC' who had given her 10 emotion points?

She gasped inwardly. Neither her impression in class nor the early plot of the original novel had mentioned such a character.

Chi Xiaocheng had initially thought she was a teaching assistant.

She acknowledged her, then asked, "Classmate Luo, how do you know my name? I don't think... I've seen you before."

Luo Ying chuckled softly. "I'm an exchange student. I came to register at the start of the semester, but then I had some family matters, so I took half a month off."

"As for how I know your name, you're quite a little celebrity in our school. Boys in class occasionally talk about you, saying you're a rare and adorable adult with a childlike appearance. The school forum even had your pictures posted. How could I not know you?"

As she spoke, she naturally leaned a little closer to Chi Xiaocheng and whispered, "I heard you have ambiguous relationships with Dongfang Yang, Si Chen, and Su Tao. Is that true?"

Chi Xiaocheng's face darkened.

"Where on earth did you hear such rumors?!"

She swore, the only ambiguous relationship she had was with Taotao.

The other two were just tools.

Oh, wait. From now on, Miss Luo Ying, you're a tool too.

Chi Xiaocheng had already been looking for supporting characters who could generate emotion points. She hadn't expected someone to present themselves so readily, right after she arrived at school.

And an exchange student at that. No wonder the name hadn't rung a bell.

She gave a light huff. "Rumors stop with the wise. Dongfang Yang and Si Chen are good friends with Taotao; they just see me as a younger sister."

"Heh, just kidding," Luo Ying chuckled. "But it's actually quite surprising. Seeing you, I find you're even cuter than in your pictures."

"Really?" Chi Xiaocheng curved her lips. "You're not just saying that because you think I'm a kid and you're trying to humor me, are you?"

"You really are cute. Can I pat your head?"

Luo Ying said this, then reached out.

But before she could make contact, Chi Xiaocheng immediately batted her hand away. She covered her head. "No head pats allowed!"

Only Taotao gets to pat her head.

Even so, her natural refusal, covering her head during a casual conversation, brought an expression of enjoyment to Luo Ying's face.

After her lips curved into an unreadable smile,

emotion points followed.

[Character Luo Ying was charmed by the Host and felt healed, Emotion Points +5]

Although it was a small amount, every little bit helped.

For minor characters like this, that was probably the most she could expect.

With Chi Xiaocheng as a conversation partner, Luo Ying was no longer confined to her laptop.

And Chi Xiaocheng could clearly sense that the other girl was naturally sociable; she could talk about anything. While she exuded an appealing sense of purity on the surface, Chi Xiaocheng still felt that she was actually a little sly.

Coupled with her enduring beauty, Chi Xiaocheng had already extracted a total of 55 emotion points from her in just one morning's class.

"Speaking of which, Xiaocheng, do you want to have lunch together? My treat."

Faced with the invitation, Chi Xiaocheng blinked.

Going out to eat alone was definitely out of the question; Taotao would surely get jealous.

Thinking of her own Taotao, Chi Xiaocheng said, a little awkwardly, "Then, can I invite one more person?"
