Chapter 111: Excellent, Xiaocheng Is Becoming More And More Normal

And there were other matters...

For over ten days, although she came home to stay for a while every day, she had only stayed overnight at my place twice.

She had slept holding Su Tao far fewer times than that big brown bear.

Occasionally, Da Wang, that haughty tabby cat, would burrow into the quilt, and its soft fur was more comfortable than the big brown bear's.

Chi Xiaocheng opened her mouth, then lowered her head.

In the end, she still didn't say anything petulant or troublesome.

When she looked up again, the smile she offered was so relaxed. "Then Taotao, make sure to rest and don't overexert yourself."

"Mhm!"

Su Tao reached out and stroked Chi Xiaocheng's head, her own smile equally relaxed and content.

She said, "But I won't leave that quickly. It's only 6 o'clock now; I'll leave at 8. Are there any vegetables left in the fridge? How about we have dinner first?"

Chi Xiaocheng pulled Su Tao to sit on the sofa and said with concern, "Let's order takeout. No need to trouble yourself if you're injured."

Su Tao blinked. "Then, Xiaocheng, what would you like to do?"

Hearing this, Chi Xiaocheng ran to the room and picked up Da Wang, who was sleeping.

Ignoring the cat's struggles, she held it up to Su Tao. "Hold the cat for ten minutes, then hold me."

Su Tao didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Why is there an order to it?"

"Taotao likes cats very much. Let Da Wang get closer to Taotao."

Su Tao smiled indulgently and reached out to take Da Wang.

The haughty tabby cat showed a hint of displeasure, but still nestled into Su Tao's embrace.

Su Tao reached out and stroked Da Wang's head again, saying playfully, "Actually, I can hold both Xiaocheng and Da Wang at the same time. Neither of you is very heavy."

"No way," Chi Xiaocheng said, lifting her small face as she sat beside Su Tao. "Taotao's embrace can only be for me. Da Wang isn't a person; at most, she can only stay for a little while."

As expected, she was even jealous of the cat.

But precisely because I've always humored her, she hasn't had a single episode in the past half month.

That's why she's been so well-behaved and cute.

Since that's the case...

Su Tao grabbed Da Wang and tossed it aside.

The cat performed two and a half spins in the air, landing precisely in a wastebasket containing only two dry tissues.

Da Wang looked up, bewildered, only to realize that her two poop-scoopers were already snuggling close.

Su Tao reached out and pulled Chi Xiaocheng beside her into her arms. "Then no Da Wang-hugging; you're my important little darling."

She reached out and pinched Chi Xiaocheng's dainty nose, then with her other hand, she playfully ran her fingers through Xiaocheng's beautiful brown hair.

The latter, nestled in her embrace, carefully noticed that Su Tao seemed to enjoy playing with her hair, so she shifted from leaning to using Su Tao's lap as a pillow.

She lay sideways like that, enjoying the head-stroking.

A trace of sweetness bloomed in her heart; Chi Xiaocheng truly wished this moment could last forever.

The incandescent light spilled down, illuminating her and Su Tao's pretty faces. Da Wang also tried to squeeze onto Su Tao's lap but was mercilessly kicked aside by Chi Xiaocheng.

And in the shadows where the light couldn't reach, a faint voice, full of envy and longing, murmured, "How wonderful, such a heartwarming scene."

Chi Xiaocheng opened her eyes, glanced at her, then closed her eyes again to continue enjoying.

It was Pitch-black Xiaocheng again, that inner demon seemingly born from hallucination, always trying every means to tempt her.

Never mind, if I ignore this fellow, she'll naturally disappear.

Facing Chi Xiaocheng's silence, Pitch-black Xiaocheng didn't get angry; instead, she said softly, "This kind of lap pillow must be very comfortable, right?"

"Warm, cozy, and very soft. Just leaning in this embrace, you can enjoy Su Tao's faint scent and her gentle touch."

"But have you noticed, she's spending less and less time here with you?"

"She's getting busier and busier outside."

"Since you want time to freeze here forever, wouldn't it be good to just possess her?"

"Why not take off this obedient mask of 'normalcy'?"

Chi Xiaocheng kept her eyes closed, still unmoved.

Saying that she's spending less and less time here is all intentional.

She just wants to ruin the relationship between me and Taotao!

With her silence, the temptation by her ear turned into a sigh.

When she opened her eyes again, she saw her gazing over, somewhat lost in thought, not leaving, yet not speaking further either.

Their tender moment was brief. After a mediocre dinner, they watched television together for a while.

As 8 o'clock approached, Su Tao finally stood up to say goodbye. "Xiaocheng, I have to go now. I'll come again next time."

Chi Xiaocheng nodded obediently but still asked, "Who is Taotao going to see?"

"Si Chen."

Su Tao uttered a name. "I have a small matter I need to trouble him with."

With her shoelaces tied, Su Tao didn't notice Chi Xiaocheng's melancholic expression as she bit her lower lip. She turned, waved goodbye, and said, "I'll come see you again tomorrow, Xiaocheng, bye-bye!"

Chi Xiaocheng suddenly looked up, revealing a smiling face. "Bye-bye~ Be careful on your way, don't fall again."

Bang—!

The door closed heavily.

At the far end of the entryway, where the air conditioning's warmth didn't quite reach, it gradually grew a little cold.

Outside the door, Su Tao rubbed her hands together and let out a light breath.

The corners of her lips curled up involuntarily. "Half a month has passed, and Xiaocheng is incredibly well-behaved, without the slightest sign of her yandere tendencies. It seems she's continually returning to normal."

"So, this is what successful treatment looks like, right?"

Su Tao took out her phone, happily wanting to share the good news with Doctor Cheng, but then remembered Doctor Cheng saying he was very busy lately.

So she turned to message her good friend, Cheng Cheng: "Xiaocheng is becoming so well-behaved now! I feel like it won't be long until I completely cure her yandere tendencies."

Cheng Cheng replied instantly: "Congratulations, Taozi! I was a bit worried when you talked about it being so serious before."

Taozi: "Still, I have to thank you for your suggestion, Cheng Cheng. The path of making her controllable really is feasible. I always emphasize that if she's well-behaved, I won't abandon her, and she really has become very well-behaved."

Cheng Cheng: "Hehe, I've been catching up on psychology books lately. These are just small tricks. As long as you keep spoiling her like this, she'll slowly get better."

Taozi: "Mhm, how about we meet up for a meal when we're free? Our schools aren't far apart."

Cheng Cheng: "Let's wait until winter break first. I'm swamped with finals!"

Taozi: "Hhh okay."

Cheng Cheng: "Oh, right, let me ask you something. Do you like Xiaocheng being so well-behaved?"

Taozi: "Why do you ask?"

Taozi: "If I had to say, of course I like it."

Cheng Cheng: "That's good, hehe."

The chat ended. Su Tao put away her phone and walked into the elevator, shaking her head helplessly.

"I always feel like Cheng Cheng can be a bit eccentric sometimes, but that's just how online friends are, I suppose. It's really nice to meet someone like that in this vast world."

Su Tao mused that over the past half month, she and Cheng Cheng had chatted a lot.

The other party was also interested in yandere psychology, and even more surprisingly, they shared many similar interests.

A true confidant is hard to find.

Those words truly ring true.

"Xiaocheng isn't yandere anymore, and she no longer clings to me like before. The medicine she's taking might also be working. In the current situation, she'll probably understand if I get a bit busier with my own things, right?"

Stepping out of the residential complex, Su Tao opened her umbrella and looked up at the swirling snow.

Even though the streetlights were dim, reflected in her eyes, the path ahead became increasingly clear.
