Chapter 102 101. The Next Day

Dec 15, 2025 1,440 words

The task is done~

Unfortunately, the reward turned out to be completely useless.

An Han slowly opened his weary eyes, staring blankly at the dorm ceiling.

For some reason, once the pressure of the urgent task was gone, he lost all motivation. Right now, all he wanted was to lie in bed and blissfully laze around like a slug.

Rolling onto his stomach, he nuzzled his cheek against the soft pillow, comfortably narrowing his eyes.

So good… Days without pressure really are the best.

This is what a college weekend should truly be like—instead of being anxious, forced to wear women’s clothes to comic cons, streets, and interacting with people who clearly had ulterior motives toward him.

By the time he woke up, it was already dusk outside. The pitter-patter of rain filled the air, and the soothing white noise relaxed his body even further.

Lately, the system seemed to trigger fewer tasks.
Or maybe it was simply because he’d been overloaded with tasks before, so no new ones had appeared.

Either way, right now An Han just wanted to empty his mind and savor this moment of tranquility.

…Until the door was suddenly kicked open.

No need to look—he knew it had to be Chen Junjie.

An Han let out a helpless sigh, lifted his upper body, and glanced over. Sure enough, Chen Junjie strode in holding takeaway boxes.

Noticing An Han’s resentful glare, Chen Junjie excitedly rushed over, wearing a gossipy expression: "Did you hear? Long Ge’s got a crush on someone again!"

"Huh?"

An Han’s eyes lit up instantly.

Who is it?! Whoever you are, thank you for removing this threat for me!
I’ll repay this great kindness someday!

Seeing An Han’s interest, Chen Junjie began teasing him: "You have no idea—Long Ge was so excited when he saw that girl… His face turned as red as a monkey’s butt! But he’s too chicken to even ask for her WeChat."

"Really?" An Han sat upright on the bed. "Who’s the girl? Where did Long Ge meet her?"

"At the comic con. Classic love-at-first-sight."

"..."

His excitement vanished instantly. His expression turned blank as he stared fixedly at Chen Junjie, lips pressed tightly together, waiting for more.

"Just this girl with super long legs, dressed pretty provocatively."

"..."

"Guess Long Ge’s into that kind—kinda bold and flirty, huh?"

An Han turned away and yanked the charger from the socket beside his bed.

"Shame I didn’t get a good look at her face, but aside from her legs, her chest was so flat—probably not even an AA cup."

"Tch, though her butt was kinda perky. Long Ge definitely saw what she looked like… Hey, why are you laughing?!"

An Han laughed bitterly in rage, then hurled the charger straight at Chen Junjie.

It’s me you’re talking about, you idiot!
You’re the one who’s provocative! Your whole damn family is provocative!

Chen Junjie jumped back in shock, yelping as the charger shattered into pieces on the floor—An Han clearly hadn’t held back, practically aiming to kill.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!"

"You’re badmouthing Long Ge’s crush?! You’re the crazy one!"

An Han glared furiously at Chen Junjie.

Chen Junjie’s bravado instantly deflated. He knew he’d crossed a line, but still grumbled resentfully, kicking the trash can before storming back to his computer, muttering under his breath: "I was even gonna show you the photo… Fine, don’t wanna see it? Then screw you!"

Wait—photo?!

An Han’s anger vanished instantly. Nervously, he asked Chen Junjie, "Photo? Send it to me."

"Nope! Get lost!"

…It probably didn’t show her face clearly anyway.
Otherwise, Chen Junjie wouldn’t be acting so casually.

"It’s not like she’s his girlfriend—just a crush. Why can’t we talk about it? Long Ge doesn’t even have her WeChat," Chen Junjie grumbled stubbornly, clicking around on his computer.

An Han climbed off the bed, casting a dark, ominous look toward Chen Junjie’s back.

You’ll get your comeuppance soon enough, Chen Junjie!

After washing up on the balcony, An Han messaged Lin Yi online to check whether she’d received the qipao Su Peng sent her. After receiving confirmation, he sat down beside Wang Sheng, watching a video with a melancholy expression.

Nowadays, Wang Sheng was practically the only person he could trust.

Wang Sheng caught a faint, delicate fragrance drifting over and turned to look at An Han beside him. "Where were you yesterday? You were gone all day and didn’t come back at night either."

"Why do you care so much?" An Han rested his chin in one hand, eyes fixed on the screen.

"Just asking casually."

"Really?"

An Han turned to look directly at Wang Sheng—only to see him hurriedly look away. That made An Han’s heart skip a beat.

No way… Could it be…?

Wang Sheng looked flustered, avoiding An Han’s gaze: "I, uh… I just worry something might’ve happened to you. You’ve never been this busy before—going out every weekend, super secretive and all…"

"If something’s up… just tell me. I can help. Whether it’s money or anything else…"

The way you’re talking… sounds just like a confession!

An Han clenched his teeth and silently asked the system:

【Check Wang Sheng’s affection level toward me.】

【Wang Sheng: Affection Level 55】

It was 50 last time, right? Still not that high…

"Nothing’s wrong. What could possibly be wrong with me?" An Han calmed himself and looked away from Wang Sheng, pondering his roommate’s intentions.

He’s probably just too introverted—has no idea how to express concern for a dormmate.

Yeah, that must be it!

Relieved, An Han asked casually: "Where’s Long Xing?"

The moment he mentioned Long Xing, the dorm door swung open.

Long Xing strode in, wearing quick-dry athletic clothes and holding a thermos. His tight short-sleeve shirt didn’t cover his upper arms, revealing densely packed tattoos. With his muscular build stretching the fabric, buzz cut, and stoic expression, he looked like a hardened gangster—

—yet the bright pink thermos in his hand created such a jarring contrast, almost making him look oddly… cute.

An Han burst out laughing, but quickly covered his mouth when Long Xing turned toward him with a puzzled look.

"Long Ge, want me to get you a new thermos?"

"Nah, I like this one. No need."

Long Xing chuckled as he set the thermos on the table.

Though built like a tough guy, he’d always been too shy to admit he secretly adored pink, girly things—until An Han figured it out.

Now, whenever anyone asked, he could confidently claim it was a gift from a girl he liked, so of course he had to use it.

"Like it? The color, or…"

…or the person who gave it to you?

"I like anything friends give me," Long Xing replied vaguely, masking his true feelings.

But that answer froze An Han’s smile. If that was the case, he could never give Long Xing anything again.

"…I see. Then keep it."

Inside, An Han fumed.

Go ahead—keep it! Better take it to the gym every day! Just wait till people start laughing at you—you’ll finally understand my spite!
