Chapter 153 151. Coming Clean
Su Peng hadn’t expected this at all…
An Han actually snored—and quite loudly, at that.
Leaning back against his chair, legs crossed, Su Peng looked up at the half of An Han’s face exposed on the top bunk and let out a helpless sigh.
Even though the way An Han’s face was squashed against the pillow looked pretty cute, if the snoring was always this loud, wouldn’t his sleep quality be terrible after they got married?
He couldn’t quite sit still anymore. Standing up, he moved closer to An Han’s face.
That slim face, pressed into the pillow, looked a little chubby instead. Her delicate lips were slightly parted, revealing a hint of white teeth. Messy hair fell across her cheeks, and beneath her long lashes were faint dark circles.
Unable to resist, Su Peng secretly reached out and lightly pressed his fingertip against her cheek.
Although she looked slender, An Han’s face actually had quite a bit of softness to it—apparently she’d put on some weight over the past month or two. Before, she’d been so thin she’d looked like a bamboo pole.
And she hadn’t been this pretty before, either.
An Han didn’t sleep very properly. At first, at least the blanket covered her belly, but now half of it was almost pulled off the bed, hanging over the edge and pinned beneath her body.
Her sleeping posture was completely unguarded. Her jacket was open, her full curves plainly visible. Her clothes had ridden up to her waist, exposing her flat stomach and slender waistline.
Su Peng didn’t dare touch anywhere else. He even felt that touching her any more would be a kind of desecration.
Still, a strange thought popped into his head: she’d probably be great at belly dancing.
Seeing her clothes pulled up like that, he only carefully reached out, tugging the hem of her jacket down, afraid she might catch a cold or get a stomachache if she woke up like this.
But the moment he did, An Han’s snoring stopped abruptly.
Her eyes, hidden beneath long lashes, snapped open.
Her gaze followed Su Peng’s arm down to her own chest, then lifted to meet his eyes.
“……”
“I was just pulling your clothes down so you wouldn’t catch a cold!”
“I haven’t even asked anything yet. Why are you getting so worked up?”
“I was afraid you’d misunderstand!”
An Han sat up in disgust, immediately zipping up her jacket, then shot Su Peng a guarded look. “What time is it?”
“You’ve only been asleep for a little over ten minutes.”
“Good thing it was only ten minutes.”
Su Peng opened his mouth to explain, but when he saw that distrustful look, he realized that any further explanation would only make things worse.
An Han quickly climbed down from the bed, put on her shoes, and turned straight toward the balcony.
Damn it—men really are men!
As soon as there’s a girl in the room, they can’t help themselves!
Back when I had my first love, she slept in the same bed as me and I didn’t touch her all night! I didn’t even dare lay a finger on her!
And this guy—three times!
Figures there aren’t many pure boys like me left!
Even though the relationship had ended without even a first kiss, thinking back on it still filled An Han with both pride and regret—regret that now felt even stronger.
If I’d known I’d turn into a girl, I should’ve at least lost my virginity first…
She deftly climbed over the balcony railing into her own dorm’s balcony. She wasn’t thinking about danger at all—she just wanted to get away from that pervert Su Peng as fast as possible.
Su Peng came out onto the balcony too, only to see that An Han had already climbed over the railing to the next one.
“Aren’t you afraid of falling?” he called.
“Afraid of what?”
If I stay with you any longer, I’ll really get eaten alive!
The balcony door wasn’t closed, so An Han went straight into her dorm. Before leaving, though, she glanced back at the gaze still fixed on her.
It did look pretty sincere.
She muttered under her breath, guessing that Su Peng might really have just been pulling her clothes down.
But still!
Su Peng was best at playing dumb. He’d clearly known she was a girl before, yet acted completely clueless. Later, when they watched a horror movie together in the dorm, he’d pretended to be scared and innocent while taking advantage of her!
She couldn’t trust Su Peng!
If she did, she’d really be walking straight into the tiger’s mouth!
An Han sat down in front of her computer. Less than two minutes later, she heard movement from the balcony. Shortly after, Su Peng came in through the back door, holding a bowl of cut fruit.
“Aren’t you afraid of falling?” An Han threw his earlier words back at him.
“What’s there to be afraid of?” Su Peng said with a smile, placing the fruit platter on her desk. “Have some. I don’t see you eating fruit very often.”
An Han glanced at the platter. “That’s because fruit is too expensive.”
She said that, but in reality, it was mostly because she was lazy.
If it weren’t for seeing fruit cups at the supermarket, she could easily go a week—or even a month—without touching fruit.
She speared a piece of apple with a toothpick and popped it into her mouth. Yawning, she propped her chin on one hand. The drowsiness from just waking up hadn’t completely faded, leaving her listless.
Su Peng didn’t say much beside her. His gaze simply rested quietly on An Han.
“Su Peng.”
“Hm?”
“How am I supposed to tell my family that I’ve turned into a girl?”
Maybe it was a moment of impulse, or maybe it was because they were both victims of the system, but An Han asked.
Su Peng froze, scratching his head. Though surprised by the question, he still wore that reassuring smile. “First off, you’d need to change your ID to female, right? Otherwise your school records won’t match your information.”
“If your family can’t accept it, then after you graduate from college, you can support yourself. Whether they accept it or not doesn’t really matter, does it?”
An Han turned to look at him seriously. “I’m not joking. I really did suddenly turn into a girl—because I inexplicably got a system.”
“That system wants to turn me into a girl. It wants me to like you. It wants me to become more and more of a green-tea type…”
It even wants to turn me into the heroine of some doujin!
Su Peng was stunned.
He quickly analyzed what An Han had said.
He automatically interpreted “system” as some reason An Han couldn’t say out loud, and suddenly everything made sense.
So while hiding her female identity, An Han had always longed to live openly as a woman. So she’d always liked me, but because of her gender—or other reasons—she couldn’t accept it. An Han enjoyed the pleasure that came with acting coy and manipulative, but knew it wasn’t a good thing…
After all, a “system” was just too absurd.
“Well…” Su Peng wanted to comfort An Han, but he didn’t actually understand the situation itself. After thinking it over, he said, “It’s fine. I have money.”
“……”
“At least my family does,” he said with a grin. “A lot of problems can be solved with money, right?”
“You damn rich kid!”
An Han cursed, turning her gaze back to the computer screen.
Yet she felt inexplicably at ease, a warm feeling rising in her chest—not because of the money, but because of Su Peng’s seemingly unconditional trust.
She knew how outrageous her words sounded.
After a moment of silence, An Han let out a soft sigh. “Once I’ve accepted my identity… if you still like me…”
Under Su Peng’s burning gaze, she couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence.
She could only pretend nothing was wrong and focus on what she was doing, even as her cheeks grew redder and redder.
