Chapter 250 247. Wu Hao

Feb 05, 2026 1,372 words

The departure of her parents and younger sister left An Han a bit at a loose end.

She usually found her parents’ supervision annoying and her sister’s antics bothersome, but when they were gone and the house fell silent, An Han found herself missing them a little.

Lin Yi would be going to pay New Year visits in the coming days, and even if she went out shopping, there would be no one to accompany her.

As for Su Peng… the chances of her surprising him suddenly were slim, since he’d likely be visiting relatives for the New Year as well.

She turned on the TV to fill the room with some background noise, lay flat on the sofa, yawned, and chatted with Su Peng on her phone.

Su Peng had been having a rough time lately—he initially thought he was being dragged to countless blind dates, only to discover that his parents were nagging him for not bringing a girlfriend home.

And the girlfriend Su Peng’s parents had in mind… was An Han.

Previously, when he had taken An Han to the hospital for a check-up using the back entrance, he ran into the hospital director, his uncle.

The director mistakenly assumed An Han was Su Peng’s girlfriend and, during a New Year family gathering, openly talked about it. As a result, everyone discovered that Su Peng had failed at multiple blind dates because he had secretly been seeing someone.

“Why is your uncle so meddlesome?”

An Han sent him a message, feeling a strange little sense of amusement over the misunderstanding.

She hadn’t seen Su Peng in nearly a month and had worried that he might meet a prettier girl during the New Year visits, but now that concern seemed unnecessary.

“I really can’t take it anymore,” Su Peng replied with a picture of a despondent cat, “they keep nagging me about not telling them I have a girlfriend… but you’re not my girlfriend either.”

“Exactly, exactly.”

An Han thought about next semester, if meeting Su Peng again could rekindle the old feelings, she might actively try to confess.

The chances of failure were probably low, right?

After all, Su Peng had confessed to her before, but back then, her feelings for him weren’t strong enough.

“System, can I see my affection levels toward others?”

“…”

Other people’s systems would at least respond with something like “permission denied,” but hers just played dead.

After chatting with Su Peng for a bit, An Han had planned to spend the dull afternoon duo-queueing with him, but Su Peng was busy.

“He’s probably out visiting relatives…”

Lazily getting up from the sofa, she turned off the TV and started heading upstairs.

However, she had only taken a few steps when the door was suddenly knocked.

“Su Peng?!”

An Han’s eyes lit up, and she rushed to the door, but her excitement vanished as soon as she opened it.

“Cousin…”

Outside was Wu Hao, looking a bit awkward, holding a bag of gifts.

Wu Hao was the older cousin who had flirted with her elder cousin, and recently relatives had been discussing his affairs so much that An Han’s own transformation into a girl had been completely ignored.

Stepping back a couple of paces to make room, An Han casually asked, “Cousin, how’s your thing with my older cousin going?”

Wu Hao walked in, placing some Wangzai milk on the table, looking relieved.

“Don’t even mention it, I’ve been nagged for over ten days. Came here to take refuge.”

“Refuge?”

“Your parents went to visit relatives, right?”

His gaze involuntarily swept over An Han—hard to imagine the mischievous little boy who used to follow him around was now gracefully standing there, prettier than his girlfriend.

[Wu Hao’s affection for you +15]

An Han immediately went on alert, pulling her open coat closed and fastening the belt around her waist, fully hiding her figure.

She looked at Wu Hao like he was some kind of predator.

You messed around with my older cousin and now you’re not leaving me alone?!

[Wu Hao: affection 45]

She relaxed a bit—the newly added affection was likely just from her appearance and charm bonus.

“What do you want to drink? Cola?”

An Han went to the fridge and grabbed two cans of sugar-free cola her father had bought for her.

In the past, her parents would never have stocked drinks like this, but now, a simple request to her father and he would buy it despite her mother’s pressure.

“Sugar-free, huh…”

“Of course.” She handed a can to Wu Hao, took a couple sips herself, then asked, “When are you leaving?”

“I came to pay New Year visits, okay? Why are you rushing me out?”

“You’re kind of dangerous… your older cousin already made a move…”

Although cautious, Wu Hao wasn’t an ordinary guy.

When he flirted with her older cousin, he didn’t even know they weren’t closely related.

Wu Hao couldn’t help but counterattack: “You’re not much better—how did you turn into a girl?”

“…”

They stared at each other for a moment before An Han defiantly retorted, “At least my morals are fine!”

“Isn’t it just embarrassing either way? What’s the difference?”

“Even rabbits don’t eat near their nests!”

“I’m just keeping the benefits in the family!”

After bickering and revealing each other’s flaws, their relationship eased a bit, and the awkwardness of not seeing each other for so long faded. Still, both quickly looked away, tacitly deciding not to keep picking at each other.

If it weren’t for worrying about her older cousin tonight, she would’ve already thrown the medical report in his face.

[Wu Hao’s affection for you: 3]

Wu Hao plopped onto the sofa in a relaxed pose and explained helplessly, “I’ll be leaving in a couple hours. My parents are visiting relatives nearby.”

“Oh~”

An Han sat in the computer chair. This computer was over ten years old, taking ten minutes just to start up—only used by her parents for playing cards or Mahjong.

Just as she was about to speak, she noticed a new interface appear in her view.

Her heart skipped a beat, fearing it might be a task requiring her to increase Wu Hao’s affection.

That would be terrifying!

[Option 1: Help the cousins gain recognition from relatives. Reward: “Heavenly boyfriend”]

[Option 2: Help relatives separate the cousins. Reward: Relatives’ affection +10]

[Option 3: Do nothing. Reward: Random attribute points]

Glancing at the task objectives, An Han breathed a sigh of relief.

She instinctively wanted to choose Option 3, but suddenly realized that if her body stats were randomly increased again… her bust would likely exceed a C cup, truly turning her into a “milk cow.”

That would be too scary!

Even just a B+ already gave her trouble, making daily life inconvenient. Now, walking upright, she instinctively shifted her center of gravity backward, fearing to slouch.

An Han glanced at Wu Hao.

Option 2 was out of the question; even if his romance with her older cousin was questionable, it wasn’t a reason to break them up.

But the reward for Option 1… even if it was a “heavenly boyfriend,” she could just refuse. The only tricky part was the potential for being pestered endlessly.

“Your eyes look weird,” Wu Hao frowned.

An Han showed a cute, innocent smile.

“I’m thinking about how to help you.”

“Help me?” Wu Hao was stunned, then shook his head helplessly.

“The main problem is your uncle—he’s firmly opposed.”

“Your uncle? What about your aunt?” An Han’s eyes lit up.

Her uncle was her older cousin’s father and the most resolute opponent of Wu Hao, but if it was a man, it would be easier!

“Your aunt… she’s ambiguous, I guess.”

“I can help you!” After a moment of thought, An Han suddenly slapped Wu Hao on the shoulder and said seriously, “As long as you do exactly what I say!”

“W-what exactly do you mean?”
