Chapter 322 319. Sunday
Although she was already awake, An Han still stayed curled up under the blanket against Su Peng for at least another ten minutes. Only then did she carefully loosen her hold on him, gently move the hand resting over her chest aside, and sneak out of bed.
Sleeping while hugging Su Peng was really comfortable~
The only problem was her right arm, which had been pinned to the side. No matter where she tried to place it, it felt awkward.
A faint blush appeared on her cheeks. Standing beside the bed, she looked at Su Peng’s sleeping face. Suddenly, she felt a cool sensation around her neck. Lowering her head, she noticed the necklace that had somehow been put on her without her realizing.
“Hmm… having a necklace suddenly feels so strange.”
She tugged at it uncomfortably, lifting the heart-shaped pendant and muttering, “It’s not very pretty.”
The shape felt a bit too straightforward.
But even so, she couldn’t stop the excitement bubbling up in her heart…
An Han turned the pendant over and over, examining it. The more she looked at it, the more she liked it, until her eyes curved into crescent moons with her smile.
She had never really studied or worn jewelry before and had barely even seen much of it. The necklace filled her with curiosity and novelty—it was the first necklace that truly belonged to her.
Even though the feeling of wearing it was still a little unfamiliar, she tucked the necklace inside her clothes. The cool pendant brushed against her skin, letting her feel its presence at any time.
“He actually gave me a necklace… I wonder how much it cost. I heard the expensive ones are really pricey.”
If it was too expensive, she would tell Su Peng to return it.
Even though, given Su Peng’s family background, he probably wouldn’t care much about the cost, wearing something valuable still made An Han worry she might accidentally damage or break it.
After happily pulling the blanket over Su Peng properly, An Han hummed a cheerful tune as she walked out of the bedroom.
But when she stepped into the living room, the smile on her face instantly disappeared.
Her original plan had been to invite Wang Sheng to the birthday gathering. With his obsession for cleanliness, he surely wouldn’t be able to stand the messy aftermath and would end up helping her clean.
But now, the living room floor was stained with spilled hotpot soup. The hotpot and bowls on the coffee table were in complete disarray, and various pieces of trash were scattered across the table instead of being thrown away.
“If I’d known Wang Sheng wasn’t coming, we should’ve just eaten outside… why did we have to do it at home…”
An Han sighed.
She hadn’t showered last night because she was drunk. She had originally planned to take a hot shower first.
But now the house absolutely had to be cleaned today.
“I’ll clean first, then shower…”
“Why was that alcohol so strong? My head’s still a little dizzy.”
“My alcohol tolerance is supposed to be pretty good.”
She lightly tapped her head and walked into the bathroom to wash up. But when she looked into the mirror, her face was slightly swollen and her complexion looked exhausted and pale.
“I’m never drinking cocktails again. They barely taste like alcohol, but a few glasses knocked me out.”
“And it even let Su Peng climb onto my bed… next time I might really end up giving myself away while drunk.”
She vaguely remembered parts of what happened last night, but she had no idea why Su Peng ended up sleeping with her.
Su Peng didn’t seem like the type to take advantage of someone when they were drunk… If he were, her clothes wouldn’t still be perfectly neat.
“Don’t tell me I invited him myself?”
Muttering to herself while eliminating what she thought was the least likely possibility, An Han finished washing up. She splashed cold water on her face, and the tired look vanished.
It was already seven in the morning, but the outside world was still dim with the faint glow of dawn.
Although the temperature had been rising recently, An Han’s face still turned red from the cold the moment she stepped outside. Her hands stayed buried in her coat pockets, refusing to come out.
She took small quick steps and ran to the breakfast stall at the entrance of the residential complex, but unexpectedly ran into someone she knew.
“Brother Ren?”
“So early?” Ren Chi had just taken a steamed bun from the vendor. Turning around, he greeted her. “Not sleeping in on a Sunday?”
“Brother Ren~ yesterday was my birthday…” An Han grinned and leaned closer.
Ren Chi casually stuffed the bun into her hands. “Here. Birthday present.”
“Tch~ so stingy!”
Actually, An Han had invited Ren Chi to the gathering, since they lived in the same complex and it was convenient.
But Ren Chi had firmly declined, saying that as a counselor attending a student’s gathering, he might make the other students feel restrained and awkward… though she felt that excuse was pretty lame. He probably went somewhere else looking for excitement.
“Boss, two hand-grab pancakes and two bowls of mianhu.”
Seeing An Han order everything in pairs, Ren Chi could roughly guess that she had spent the night with Su Peng again.
“Oh right, last semester’s scholarship will be deposited next week.”
“I don’t have any scholarship…”
“I meant tell Su Peng.”
An Han looked shocked. She had never heard Su Peng mention this.
“He can get a scholarship?”
“Why not? He ranked top three in the class in all subjects last semester. Never skipped class either. He did well in the sports meet and even got second prize in a competition.”
“Alright…”
She sighed enviously.
Even though Su Peng had spent most of last semester hanging around with her, she had never seen him study seriously. He even seemed to skip classes sometimes, yet he still scored high enough to get a scholarship.
Meanwhile, she had two subjects where she scored exactly sixty—most likely failing the exams and only passing because the teachers added some participation points.
“Didn’t he skip class sometimes…”
“He asked for leave.”
Ren Chi didn’t chat with An Han for long. Being around a student who knew about his cross-dressing habit always filled him with pressure.
After mentioning the scholarship, he said goodbye and walked back toward the residential complex.
Meanwhile, An Han stood there waiting for the vendor to finish making the pancakes, her heart filled with jealousy and envy.
If she ever got a scholarship, her parents would probably laugh out loud, stick the certificate on the wall, and notify every relative within half an hour.
“Done.”
Taking the packed breakfast, An Han returned home with a lifeless expression.
Su Peng was already awake, sitting on the sofa and yawning while cleaning up the hotpot on the coffee table. Seeing her come in, he casually asked, “What time did you get up?”
“Just half an hour ago.”
“Mm.”
After placing the breakfast on the newly cleared space on the coffee table, An Han suddenly frowned and demanded, “Why did you run onto my bed last night?!”
“???” Su Peng looked up with an innocent expression. “Did you black out from drinking?”
“No. I remember you carrying me back.”
“And then?”
“Then I fell asleep!”
Su Peng nodded firmly. “Then yeah, you definitely blacked out. You said your hands and feet were cold and insisted I warm them. Then you dragged me onto the bed.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. And you even got handsy when you were drunk, trying to take off my clothes. Luckily I resisted the temptation and stood firm…”
An Han looked at him suspiciously. Somehow, if she really got carried away, she felt like she might actually do something like that.
“You believed that?”
“Total nonsense!” An Han’s face instantly flushed red with embarrassment. She pounced on him with claws out. “How could I possibly do something like that!”
