Chapter 298 295. A Sleepless Night
When Su Peng came out of the bathroom, An Han had already bought new toiletries.
She was sitting on the sofa, pouring the boiling hot water back and forth between two cups, trying to cool it down.
“What are you doing?”
An Han turned her head and realized that Su Peng seemed much more awake after taking a shower.
At the moment, Su Peng was only wearing pants, his upper body bare, openly showing off his muscles to An Han.
“I got you some hot water. Drinking some might help you sober up.”
“Why aren’t you wearing a shirt?” An Han muttered, turning her head away.
She felt like the situation was becoming more and more dangerous.
When Su Peng was drunk, she didn’t have to worry about her personal safety. But now that he had sobered up a lot, he probably had the ability to do something strange to her.
Afraid… yet somehow strangely expectant…
That strong body seemed to give off an even stronger masculine aura than usual. Just looking at it a few times made An Han’s cheeks turn red. She felt nervous inside and didn’t dare stay alone with Su Peng in the living room.
But Su Peng had already sat down beside her.
Even with more than ten centimeters between them, An Han felt as if she could sense the warmth coming from his body.
That made her even more restless, and a strange thought suddenly popped into her mind.
Su Peng looks so fierce… I probably couldn’t handle him, right?
Quickly throwing that messy thought out of her head, she didn’t dare look at his bare upper body anymore.
“After your shower, go to sleep. You’d better put some clothes on too. The blanket is thin, you might catch a cold.”
“Mm, it’s fine.”
Su Peng yawned. His hair was still wet, droplets of water sliding down from it. The drops fell onto his wheat-colored skin, sliding from his shoulders to his collarbone, then along the lines of his muscles, passing his firm chest and defined abs before disappearing.
An Han pulled her gaze back when the droplet disappeared, her face burning hot as if it could smoke.
“You should dry your hair before sleeping, or you’ll get a headache.”
She couldn’t sit still anymore, so she found an excuse to stand up and hurried into the bathroom.
Soon she came back out with a hair dryer. After finding an outlet near the sofa and plugging it in, she was about to hand it to Su Peng, but saw him sitting there motionless with half-closed eyes.
Still drunk?
An Han didn’t care much. She walked behind the sofa and started drying Su Peng’s hair herself.
She had worked part-time at a hair salon during a summer vacation before. She might not be great at cutting hair, but washing and drying it was easy for her.
Su Peng’s hair quality is pretty good~
Using her fingers, An Han played with Su Peng’s hair. In just a few moments, the already messy wet hair turned into a bird’s nest.
Feeling playful, she gathered the hair on both sides and stood it up like a mohawk, then combed his bangs backward into a slicked-back style, and later swept it to the side into a side-parted slick back...
“Stop playing,” Su Peng reminded her tiredly and helplessly.
“I’m helping you dry your hair!”
An Han tried to gather all of Su Peng’s hair into a small topknot, but unfortunately his hair was too short.
“How about styling it into a side-part slick back in the future? With bangs you look too well-behaved,” she suggested. “A slick back looks more mature.”
“Whatever you like.”
Just now when she styled his bangs into a side-part slick back, he looked much more mature and charismatic. That hairstyle also highlighted Su Peng’s facial features.
Kind of like Hu Ge~
Soon his hair was dry. She casually tossed the hair dryer onto the sofa. Leaning forward from behind the sofa, she supported herself with both arms on the backrest and curiously looked at Su Peng’s drunken face.
Even with his face flushed from alcohol, he still looks handsome~
“Go to sleep. Classes start tomorrow.”
Su Peng opened his eyes, but his view was filled with a round patch of snow-white softness.
He instinctively leaned his body back before realizing that An Han was simply too close. Those plump mounds swayed slightly with her movement. If he had turned his head toward her earlier, his nose might have brushed against them.
An Han had already taken off her coat. Without it covering her, her proud and striking chest nearly made it impossible for Su Peng to look away.
“I’m going to take a shower!”
Before Su Peng could say anything, she also realized how close she was to him. Her face instantly flushed red. She straightened up from the sofa like a startled rabbit and dashed into the bathroom.
Su Peng won’t think I’m trying to seduce him, right?!
An Han’s heart pounded rapidly. Even while showering she couldn’t calm down, feeling like she was heading down a path of completely giving herself away.
“Calm down! I can never let Su Peng stay over again!”
“The consequence of acting on impulse is the obstetrics department!”
She muttered quietly to herself, trying to calm her restless emotions.
“After the shower, go straight back to your room. Avoid any more contact with Su Peng!”
An Han still took showers the same way she always did—quick and sloppy. In just three minutes she rinsed off, put on her winter fluffy pajamas and pants, and stood in front of the mirror for a moment.
Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Luckily it was winter. The pajamas were thick enough that her figure was completely hidden, so she didn’t need to worry too much about Su Peng turning into a beast.
If it were summer, wearing thin pajamas might stimulate him.
When she came out of the bathroom, her expression had returned to normal. Su Peng was sitting on the sofa, drinking cup after cup of warm water, seemingly trying to help the alcohol leave his body faster.
“I’m going to sleep first, okay? It’s already past ten.”
Su Peng turned his head to look at her, a gentle smile appearing on his lips.
“Mm. Thanks for tonight.”
“Why are you thanking me? We’re close!”
Being thanked instantly made An Han feel satisfied. She even unconsciously straightened her back and proudly lectured him.
“Isn’t it because your alcohol tolerance is so bad? Don’t drink again in the future! Do you know how troublesome it is taking care of you?!”
“No smoking, no drinking...” Su Peng complained.
Even if he wasn’t addicted, he couldn’t even smoke one occasionally or have a drink with friends during gatherings...
“What? You have a problem with that?”
Seeing An Han raise her voice with her hands on her slender waist, he quickly shook his head.
“I don’t smoke or drink anyway!”
“Hmph~”
Having subdued Su Peng, An Han felt even more pleased. She was so happy that she unconsciously walked on her tiptoes.
“Then I’m going to sleep! Good night!”
With a “click,” the lights went out. Su Peng could only see An Han’s vague figure walking toward the bedroom.
He stretched lazily and rubbed his sleepy eyes with a yawn.
It was indeed time to sleep.
“Good night.”
Deep down, Su Peng had been hoping for something, but An Han didn’t take the initiative.
He scratched his head and lay down on the sofa, shifting uncomfortably and slightly bending his legs.
For An Han, the sofa was spacious enough to lie on, but for him it was still a bit cramped.
He estimated he probably wouldn’t sleep well tonight.
About ten minutes later, in his half-asleep state, Su Peng suddenly noticed faint footsteps near his ear.
Opening his eyes, he saw in the darkness that An Han was carefully leaning over to peek at him.
“!!!”
Caught by him, An Han reacted like a startled cat and nearly jumped on the spot.
“You...”
An Han stepped back slightly, but soon bent down again and gently kissed Su Peng on the forehead like a dragonfly touching water.
“A goodnight kiss!”
Then she quickly ran back to the bedroom and slammed the door shut with a loud “bang.”
Su Peng felt a bit stirred up, but then he heard the sound of the door being locked.
That bit of restlessness was forcibly suppressed.
“She’s teasing me on purpose again!”
He turned over angrily, his mind full of An Han’s face. Tossing and turning, he found it even harder to fall asleep.
