Chapter 217 214. The Popular Su Peng

Jan 30, 2026 1,395 words

Monday, the library.

An Han sat alone at a small round table in the corner, hugging her books and phone as she slowly worked through them.

What she had thought would be a fairly simple final assignment turned out to be tricky, so she had come to the library, checking references while searching things up online.

“My head hurts…”

Even though she had gained an intelligence stat, it seemed to have only boosted her memory, not her comprehension by much.

Or maybe it was because she had been too lazy to think for too long—her brain had gotten a bit rusty and hadn’t warmed up yet.

“A Han~”

A sweet, sticky voice came from beside her ear. An Han looked up and saw An Kexin sitting across from her.

She only glanced once before lowering her head again. “You’ve gotten prettier lately.”

“I’m learning how to dress up.”

This girl had a crush on Su Peng and had even helped push things along between her and Su Peng during the sports meet.

Other girls being dumb and cute meant throwing themselves away; this one being dumb and cute meant pushing An Han to throw herself away…

After a while with no response from An Kexin, An Han asked without looking up, “Do you need something?”

“Well… why did you start wearing women’s clothes?” An Kexin sounded very nervous, even a bit stuttery. “You do look pretty, but… but isn’t it kind of strange?”

“After all, you’re a boy. Isn’t it a bit inappropriate to wear women’s clothes to class?”

An Han lifted her head in confusion. She really hadn’t expected An Kexin to have such a big issue with her wearing women’s clothes to class.

Did the class monitor in college manage class atmosphere too?

Even the counselor hadn’t said anything yet.

Seeing An Kexin gripping the chair with both hands, her head lowered so much it was almost buried in her chest, An Han suddenly blinked in realization.

This girl was feeling a sense of crisis~

Was she worried that Su Peng would be “turned gay” by her?

Looking at An Kexin’s tense, shy expression, An Han wanted to laugh but forced herself to hold it in.

“Su Peng and I are just ordinary friends.” She felt a bit guilty even saying that.

But the next sentence came out confidently: “And Su Peng isn’t gay—what are you worried about?”

An Kexin panicked even more. “I—I wasn’t talking about Su Peng…”

But soon she lowered her head again and made a mosquito-soft request. “Um, could you help me ask him out tonight?”

“He’s not free,” An Han replied without hesitation.

“Okay then…”

An Kexin didn’t say much more, just glanced at An Han’s chest.

She always felt that An Han was even more womanly than actual girls, and that bust size… even with a jacket covering it, it looked bigger than hers.

Was there something stuffed under the jacket, or was it just an illusion from the folds?

Her sense of crisis shot through the roof!

She had originally thought that getting on good terms with An Han would be a roundabout way to success, but now An Han seemed to have become her rival instead.

Maybe she was just overthinking it…

An Kexin quietly left, took her books, and found another seat, observing An Han from afar.

No matter how she looked at it, An Han was prettier than her…

“Su Peng is really popular.” An Han herself couldn’t focus on the materials anymore. One hand propped up her cheek, the other toyed with her phone.

It wasn’t just An Kexin—Lin Yi, who had broken up with her ex, had her eye on Su Peng too.

Even more girls in the class were itching to make a move…

An Han could understand them. After all, Su Peng was always gentle, considerate, and good-tempered in daily life, with looks that could compete for campus heartthrob status, plus a clean reputation of never having dated in college so far.

It would be strange if girls didn’t like Su Peng. But the problem was—why were all these girls so timid just two months ago?!

Back then, An Han had been worrying about Su Peng’s rapidly increasing affection, racking her brain to find him a girlfriend to divert his attention!

But at that time, An Kexin had been extremely timid, nothing like how proactive she was now. And Lin Yi still had a boyfriend then, with no intention of cheating…

An Han sighed inwardly and finally sent Su Peng a message.

“An Kexin wants to ask you out tonight.”

Let Su Peng make the choice himself.

“Didn’t we agree to duo queue tonight?”

Almost instantly, Su Peng replied.

“Gaming is obviously less important than picking up girls,” An Han replied righteously.

“Oh, please.”

For some reason, just knowing that Su Peng had rejected An Kexin made An Han feel inexplicably happy.

She crossed her legs, lightly swinging her foot, and asked, “Is it because the class monitor isn’t pretty enough? What about Lin Yi asking you out?”

“None of them are more important than you.”

“Just sweet talk~” An Han muttered softly, her cheeks beginning to warm.

She realized that Su Peng was launching an intense offensive against her—and she could no longer guard herself as strictly as before.

It was just a couple of online messages, yet she was already blushing and her heart was racing.

This would have been completely impossible in the past!

The corners of her mouth kept lifting in a small, happy smile. An Han packed up the materials on the table and stood up, hugging the books to her chest with one hand while continuing to message Su Peng with the other.

She might as well borrow the books and read them back home.

But after only a few steps, she suddenly heard approaching footsteps. Before she could stop, she bumped straight into someone’s chest.

Stepping back and looking up, An Han realized the person in front of her was Su Peng—the very one she had been chatting with on her phone.

“Can’t you watch where you’re going?” Su Peng rubbed his chest where it hurt, then lifted the plastic bag in his hand. “I brought you some bread and snacks. You haven’t had lunch yet, right?”

“I was chatting with you…” An Han put her phone away, took the snacks, and handed him the books she was holding. “Help me return these. You can’t eat in the library.”

She followed behind him in small steps, complaining nonstop. “Some of the books are placed way too high. Good thing there are little ladders to climb.”

“But I’m afraid of heights~ My legs shake like crazy when I’m getting books. In idol dramas, this is usually when a handsome guy helps the heroine.”

Su Peng smiled. “Isn’t that exactly what I’m doing now?”

An Han rolled her eyes at him, but then suddenly realized something and sharply turned her head toward the reading corner—right into An Kexin’s resentful gaze.

Ah… crap.

“Su Peng, I think you need to deal with An Kexin’s situation,” she caught up and whispered. “She’s liked you for a long time.”

Su Peng froze. “It’s better to just handle this kind of thing coldly.”

“But she looks really sad…”

Following An Han’s gaze, he looked at An Kexin and scratched his head. “Did you say something to her?”

“No!”

“You’re always causing trouble for me.”

“Weren’t you the one who used to say you wanted me to help you find a girlfriend…?”

Su Peng teased meaningfully, “My dear master, I kind of need your help finding a girlfriend now too.”

An Han looked at him with an innocent, pure expression.

“Fine. I’ll go deal with it.”
