Chapter 110 108. Didn’t Check the Almanac Before Going Out

Dec 27, 2025 1,435 words

“Brother Long, you’re here pretty early.”

When Long Xing pushed open the door to the club activity room, a few friends inside greeted him with smiles.

Wang Yu put down the dumbbell in his hand and nodded to him expressionlessly.

“I went back to the dorm to change clothes, then came over.”

Long Xing walked to the long bench at the side. He hesitated, lowered his head, and looked at the bag in his hands. After a moment, he took out the thermos filled with water and set it on the bench.

As a grown man, using something pink in public really was embarrassing.

Ever since An Han gave him the thermos, he’d only dared to use it in the dorm. But when it stayed in the dorm, it was just an ordinary cup—only when taken outside could it really serve its purpose.

He kept his face stiff, concealing the awkwardness in his heart.

“Long Xing, why hasn’t An Han been coming lately?” Wang Yu walked over to his side, picked up a towel, and wiped the sweat from his body, speaking casually. “When he needs something, he’s here every day. Once things are done, there’s not even a shadow of him.”

“Him? He’s been preparing for the sports meet lately.”

Long Xing rested his elbows on his thighs, bending forward to watch the club members training.

“Is that so?” Wang Yu nodded, but his gaze fell on the thermos beside Long Xing. “That cup of yours—pretty girly.”

If Wang Yu had said that jokingly, Long Xing could’ve laughed it off and retorted. But this flat, matter-of-fact statement only made him feel more awkward.

He scratched his head and instinctively turned his body, blocking Wang Yu’s view of the thermos.

“I—it was given to me by a girl I like.” He used the explanation he’d already prepared.

“Mm.”

“You don’t believe me?” Long Xing asked nervously, overly sensitive.

Wang Yu looked a little surprised. “No.”

“But you actually have someone you like? I thought your head was full of muscles.”

“I… I guess I do?” Long Xing stammered.

“Then hurry up and chase her. Don’t come crying to me if someone else snatches her away.”

I’d like to chase her too! But how am I supposed to make a move on a same-sex roommate? And if I really did, what would Chen Junjie and Wang Sheng think of me?

Besides, Xiao Han doesn’t seem interested in me. If I dared to chase him, I’d probably lose even our friendship.

A conflicted expression appeared on his face, and he sighed helplessly.

“What, is it tricky?”

“Yeah.” Long Xing subconsciously glanced at the thermos beside him, as if he could see that slender figure sitting next to him, smiling gently at him.

His gaze softened unconsciously, and even his tone grew livelier. “I’ll observe the situation a bit more.”

Wang Yu merely nodded and said nothing more. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly noticed the door to the club activity room open a crack, with a pair of big eyes secretly peeking inside.

“An Han?”

Long Xing immediately turned his head. Delighted, he stood up—but then felt his movement was too abrupt. After pausing for a moment, he pretended to be nonchalant and walked toward a nearby treadmill.

Let An Han see me seriously working out.

They say a serious man is the most handsome.

“I’m looking for you about something.” An Han finally pushed the door open and waved to Wang Yu. “Come out for a bit.”

He’d arrived at the activity room almost at the same time as Long Xing. He’d originally wanted to secretly watch Long Xing get teased for using a pink thermos, but he hadn’t expected to be discovered within just a few minutes.

“I knew it—you never come here without a reason.” Wang Yu hung the towel to the side.

Long Xing keenly glanced back at him, feeling that when he spoke to An Han, his usually cold tone seemed to carry a bit more emotion.

“Well, I just happened to have something to do…” An Han retreated two steps guiltily.

The hotel incident with Wang Yu had happened many days ago. This time they met, and the awkwardness had faded with time.

Only after Wang Yu came out into the hallway and looked at him with confusion did An Han carefully bring up his matter.

“Do you know anyone in the student union who’s responsible for evening roll call?”

He had no dealings with the student union at all. After thinking it over, the only person around him who was relatively familiar with the student union should be Wang Yu. After all, this guy was the president of two clubs and had to interact with the student union whenever clubs organized events or competitions.

“What do you want to do?”

“I want… um… when they do evening roll call, have them tick my name as well.”

“You’re going out to have fun tonight?” Wang Yu frowned slightly. “Alright, I’ll say a word for you.”

“Not tonight—after this, every day…”

An Han knew his request was a bit excessive. A faint blush crept onto his cheeks, and he grew somewhat uneasy, carefully observing Wang Yu’s expression, afraid of being rejected.

However, after hearing his addition, Wang Yu almost without hesitation turned around and started to leave.

An Han hurriedly grabbed Wang Yu’s sleeve. “Hey! Don’t go!”

“You’re always giving me impossible problems!”

“I had no other choice—that’s why I came to you! I want to live off campus!”

“What? Can’t stand staying in the dorm anymore?”

“Not really… I just see that other people also live outside.”

“They either have permission from their counselor, or they answer roll call every night and then climb over the wall to leave.”

If he climbed over the wall after roll call, wouldn’t that still mean seeing Long Xing and living with him every day?

It seemed Wang Yu had no solution to his request—otherwise, he wouldn’t have left so decisively. After all, Wang Yu’s favorability toward him had already reached the mid-sixties…

So did that mean he could only wait until after the sports meet to ask the counselor for help?

An Han rubbed the bridge of his nose with a headache, but then noticed Wang Yu was looking at him and had no intention of returning to the activity room.

He paused and asked, “Do you have something else?”

Wang Yu crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, speaking calmly with an indifferent expression. “Long Xing has someone he likes.”

“Oh?”

An Han didn’t imagine which girl Long Xing might have fallen for, nor did he feel any happiness.

After all, the person Wang Yu was referring to was most likely himself.

“Who?”

Didn’t expect it—he looks like such an iceberg, yet he’s pretty gossipy.

“How would I know?”

“The one who gave him the thermos—don’t you know?”

“I…” An Han suddenly realized something. His body tensed, and he shook his head warily. “I don’t know.”

This guy better not go ask Wang Sheng! Otherwise…

“Then I’ll go ask Wang Sheng.” Wang Yu muttered as he pushed open the activity room door. But just as he took a step forward, An Han grabbed his sleeve again, wearing a mournful expression.

Wang Yu turned back in confusion. An Han could only force a bitter smile. “That… I was the one who gave it… Brother Long was probably joking with you.”

Wang Yu stared blankly at his pretty face, then nodded thoughtfully. “Got it.”

Don’t make that kind of expression!

It’s making my heart panic!

An Han quickly changed the subject. “I’ll head off first—I still need to prepare for the sports meet.”

Looking as if he feared being dragged off to work out, he jogged away and disappeared from Wang Yu’s sight.

I really shouldn’t have come to Wang Yu today! I didn’t check the almanac before going out!
