Chapter 97 096. What a Crowd!
Although the spot An Han stood in was a bit off to the side compared to the whole venue, there were still seven or eight men in the men’s restroom taking care of business.
When An Han walked in, almost every man looked up in surprise—and after seeing his face, their expressions turned to delighted disbelief.
They’d finally seen a real cross-dressing master in the flesh!
And not just any master—this one was the real deal. With makeup and a cheongsam, both his looks and figure were flawless. Compared with those clumsy cross-dressers, the person before them was on a completely different level—every detail from gestures to the faint blush on his cheeks perfectly portrayed a shy girl.
Seeing several people staring at him curiously, An Han silently retracted the foot he had stepped inside with.
…Maybe he should just go to the women’s restroom instead.
Since he was dressed as a girl, he should respect the girl outfit, right?
His earlier thoughts had already been thrown out the window—those men staring at him like that were honestly kind of scary.
Without hesitation, he turned around and went into the women’s restroom, only to discover that almost every stall had several girls anxiously waiting in line.
Why was the women’s bathroom always like this?
Were there really that many more girls than boys at this cosplay convention?
Completely baffled, An Han finished up and went to wash his hands at the sink, using some of the free soap.
“It’s been hours… I’m hungry…”
“I should’ve eaten before coming. Everything here is so expensive.”
He muttered, then suddenly looked up at the mirror in front of him.
The approaching footsteps from behind sounded oddly familiar; with every step, his heart tightened—
Could it be Long Xing coming to attack him again?!
But the moment the figure appeared in the mirror, An Han let out a sigh of relief.
Ren Chi!
It was completely within expectations for this “two-dimensional enthusiast” counselor to show up at a con—even though Ren Chi had never admitted he was into anime.
Still, he never imagined that the always-proper Ren Chi would come wearing a full white itasha T-shirt, looking like a complete LSP as he scanned the area for cute girls.
The next second, Ren Chi’s gaze fell on An Han’s back.
Those long, slender, perfectly straight legs caught his eye immediately. He lifted his phone and snapped a photo. Just as he was about to leave, he stopped—he wanted to see the girl’s face.
An Han very cooperatively turned around and gave him a sweet smile.
“Ren-ge, you came to a con and didn’t cosplay a girl?”
Finally! He caught proof that this counselor was a closet otaku!
Ren Chi’s face shifted from excitement to horror. Staring at that familiar-yet-unfamiliar face, he didn’t know what to say.
“…”
“And you still claim you're not into anime!” An Han grinned slyly, hands behind his back, slowly stepping up to him. He lifted a finger and poked the black cat printed on Ren Chi’s shirt. “Kuroneko? That anime is ancient. You’re an old-school otaku~”
“A-An Han?” Ren Chi instinctively stepped back; the finger poking his chest made his heart race.
“What’s with that scared expression? Aren’t you just like me—”
An Han suddenly froze.
Because he’d once found a stash of women’s clothes in Ren Chi’s dorm, he had assumed they were the same kind of person and let his guard down.
But in reality, this was Ren Chi’s first time seeing him in a cross-dressing outfit—and it was an extremely revealing short skirt and a tight cheongsam at that.
Realizing this, all of An Han’s earlier smugness evaporated. His face instantly heated up bright red. He took a step back and tugged at his skirt, trying to cover more of his thighs.
“It’s my first time seeing you cross-dress,” Ren Chi said awkwardly, scratching his head. He glanced down at his own itasha shirt, his face also reddening.
Wearing this kind of cringe-inducing clothing outside was embarrassing enough—let alone in front of his own student.
Ren Chi felt whatever dignity he had left completely collapsing, though to be fair, he never had much dignity in front of An Han anyway.
But looking at An Han’s outfit, he felt he wasn’t the one who should be embarrassed.
Sure enough, An Han’s face was now fully flushed. He tucked his hair behind his ear in embarrassment, nervously glancing around. His voice was soft: “Don’t tell anyone, okay? And delete the picture.”
【Ren Chi’s affection for you +10】
An Han’s expression turned even more dejected and fragile. He didn’t even know why he had been so excited he basically confessed on the spot.
“Delete it? Sure.”
Ren Chi lowered his head to operate his phone. As always, even when he caught something compromising about An Han, he never asked questions. After all, he himself was standing here in an itasha shirt in front of his own student—awkward enough already.
If he asked too much now, their relationship might devolve into something like “disaster buddies,” constantly exposing each other’s secrets.
【Ren Chi: Affection 72】
So high?!
While watching Ren Chi delete the photo, An Han secretly checked the affection meter. The glaring 72 made him even more alarmed.
He vaguely remembered that the last time he checked, Ren Chi’s affection was below 50! How did ten points turn into seventy-plus?!
Did small increases not trigger notifications? Or did the system just not bother because they didn’t interact often?
An Han was terrified. He looked up at Ren Chi with unease.
And what exactly did I do to make you gain ten points of affection for me?! Just because you saw me in girl mode? You damn face-con!
He imagined a huge red “DANGER” flashing above his head.
“Okay, done. You want to check my album?”
“N-no need.”
An Han shook his head rapidly. “I’ve got something to do, I’m heading off.”
He didn’t dare linger near Ren Chi any longer. Those measly eight points left before the boundary could easily break if he wasn’t careful!
Having two problems already—Long Xing and Su Peng—was more than enough. He did not need a third one!
He hurried toward the hanfu booth, hoping to get far, far away from Ren Chi.
But then something even more unexpected happened.
At the end of the same walkway—Su Peng appeared!
That guy was tall and handsome, impossible to miss. The moment he showed up in a crowd, he drew attention—and An Han spotted him instantly.
So they’re ALL gathering here now?!
Was the con really that amazing?! Why were they all showing up?!
Weren’t you supposed to be on a date this weekend?! Did your date take place at the convention?!
An Han lowered his head, jogging faster, trying to rush past Su Peng at lightning speed.
Don’t see me. Don’t see me.
Or if you see me, just walk away silently!
As the distance between them shortened, An Han sped up, preparing to sprint past him before he could react.
As long as he didn’t get caught—
Then he felt himself slam into something like a utility pole. Pain shot through his head, and his body fell backward uncontrollably.
Landing on his butt, hands on the floor behind him for support, legs instinctively spread out in a V shape, he looked up in despair—
Only to see Su Peng standing there, having deliberately stepped in front of him.
“You’re exposed.”
I should probably reread, I don't really remember Ren Chi
