Chapter 219 216. Tutoring 【10/17】
“So it really was Kexin and Lin Yi! Those two jerks!”
Standing behind the apartment building’s front door, An Han peered through the small glass window and clearly made out the two figures in the shadows. “They must’ve been following us ever since class ended!”
She planted her hands on her hips in anger, already thinking about how to settle accounts with them tomorrow.
Su Peng stood to the side, looking helpless. “Want me to go talk to them? They seem to have misunderstood something.”
Even from a distance, they could still see the heartbroken expressions on Lin Yi and An Kexin’s faces.
“Forget it. The more you explain, the worse it gets.”
Besides, it couldn’t really be called a misunderstanding anyway…
An Han looked at Lin Yi and didn’t even bother dwelling on being followed. Honestly, that expression was just too satisfying to see.
“Isn’t it because you said you wanted to find a girlfriend back then? That’s why they started getting ideas,” she complained, then suddenly changed her tone. “Being liked by so many girls must make you pretty happy, huh?”
Su Peng had no idea how the conversation suddenly turned into a deadly question-and-answer round. He hurriedly replied, “No. If I were happy about it, I’d have had a girlfriend long ago.”
“Let’s go. Upstairs.”
“I’m worried they’ll start spreading rumors in class,” Su Peng said as he followed her, unsure whether his answer had pleased her or not.
“I don’t really care.”
After all, there had already been rumors in class about the two of them being a couple.
Back at the rented apartment, An Han set down the textbooks she’d used that afternoon and then turned toward the neighboring room.
Su Peng’s room hadn’t been lived in for two weeks. There wasn’t much trash, just a thin layer of dust everywhere.
As soon as she walked in, An Han saw Su Peng holding a broom, clumsily sweeping the floor. She naturally headed for the bathroom and took out a mop and bucket.
“We agreed—if I clean up for you, you have to tutor me!”
“No problem.”
“Then move aside, don’t get in the way! You’re so clumsy!”
Su Peng beat An Han at almost everything, but when it came to daily chores, he was definitely no match for her.
Whether it was studying, sports, or all sorts of other things, she was usually the one being outdone. Now that it was her strong suit, she wasn’t about to let him win again.
She sprinkled some water on the floor and bent down briskly with the mop, cleaning the room efficiently. With nothing to do, Su Peng could only sit on the bed and watch her.
To be honest, An Han’s figure really stood out. While cleaning, she gave off a distinctly capable, domestic air—completely different from her usual noisy, carefree self.
“If you keep staring, I’m not cleaning anymore.”
An Han raised her head, frowning slightly.
That intense gaze felt almost tangible, making her uncomfortably aware of it.
“Then I’ll play on my phone.”
Su Peng hurriedly lowered his head, not knowing why An Han was so sensitive.
“Go wipe the desk with a rag! You’re really just doing nothing, huh?”
“Oh.”
The moment she spoke, all that gentle aura vanished.
In just half an hour, the small room was spotless, not a speck of dust left.
Only then did An Han straighten up and lazily stretch with her arms raised high. The curve of her waist and hips once again drew Su Peng’s eyes.
Definitely a pervert!
She cursed inwardly, unsure whether she was more annoyed or embarrassed.
“Let’s go. Now it’s your turn to tutor me.”
“I only spaced out once in class, and after that I couldn’t understand anything. I practically don’t know this subject at all.”
Complaining, An Han returned to her own room, took out her textbook, and sat at the desk. She looked up and reminded him, “If I fail the final, you’re taking full responsibility, got it?”
Su Peng pulled over a chair and sat down. “Tell me what you don’t understand.”
“Most of it.”
“……”
When it came to academics, Su Peng was among the top students in the class. Even though university exams weren’t frequent, he always ranked in the top three.
But when it came to tutoring, perhaps due to lack of experience, his explanations just left An Han more confused, listening with a blank expression.
“Say it again…”
Su Peng was patient, repeating himself in a gentle voice.
An Han propped her cheek up with one hand, staring at the headache-inducing textbook—yet her eyes couldn’t help drifting back to Su Peng.
They were sitting very close. She could clearly see his tan skin, distinct collarbones, and sharp jawline.
His particular scent lingered around her nose—clean and faintly mixed with tobacco—unexpectedly intoxicating.
He must’ve secretly smoked these past couple of days!
An Han didn’t really mind men smoking, but her tolerance dropped noticeably when it came to Su Peng.
“Didn’t you say you quit smoking?”
The sudden question made Su Peng pause. He turned to her in confusion. “Wasn’t I explaining the problem? How did we get onto smoking?”
Seeing the hint of displeasure on An Han’s face, he hurriedly explained, “I ran into some old friends when I went home over the weekend. They offered me cigarettes—it would’ve been awkward not to take one. And they all know I used to smoke.”
“Next time just say your mom doesn’t let you.”
“My mom smokes herself…” Su Peng muttered, then quickly nodded. “I’ll say my girlfriend doesn’t let me.”
“……”
“Let’s keep looking at the problem. This one—”
An Han tried to focus on the question, but after barely two minutes, her gaze drifted to Su Peng again.
A faint shadow of stubble on his chin, thin lips, a straight nose…
The definition in his forearms, long fingers, neatly trimmed nails…
“You’re zoning out again.”
“I’m not!” She jolted upright.
“Then what was I just talking about?”
An Han stammered, unable to answer. Scratching her head, she realized that while Su Peng had great grades, he really wasn’t suited to tutoring her.
As long as he sat beside her, she couldn’t focus—whether in class or now.
So she could only smile awkwardly. “Go on. I promise I’ll listen properly this time!”
Su Peng looked at her helplessly and sighed. “What could possibly keep distracting you like this?”
“Nothing.”
“Then why is your face red?”
“Is it?”
Only then did An Han realize her cheeks were burning hot.
She quickly lowered her head to avoid Su Peng’s gaze, but out of the corner of her eye she suddenly noticed his trousers were clearly tented…
An Han froze. Su Peng flusteredly pressed a textbook down, and the calm he’d maintained until now finally cracked as his face heated up too.
“Focus on the problem, focus on the problem!”
“Mm…”
But her mind was already filling with uncontrollable, inappropriate images.
An Han felt her temperature rising. Even in the cool weather, she felt uncomfortably warm, her cheeks flushed and a fine sheen of sweat appearing on her skin.
Her legs unconsciously tensed…
“I—I’m going to the bathroom.” She suddenly stood up and hurried into the bathroom.
Su Peng stood there stunned, scratching the back of his head in distress.
This was bad—he’d definitely scared An Han.
Why couldn’t he behave himself? He’d been thinking about how to teach her properly, yet his body had reacted on its own.
