Chapter 277 274. First Experience
An Han’s family usually drank from small bottles of mineral water.
They used to have a water dispenser, but her mother had seen an article or video somewhere claiming that all water dispensers were extremely dirty, so they switched to bottled mineral water.
But this time, her younger sister needed hot water.
Her father paced anxiously downstairs for a few minutes before finally hearing the soft click of the kettle finishing. He quickly grabbed a cup from the cabinet, rinsed it out, and carried the entire kettle of boiling water upstairs.
He tiptoed, not even wearing slippers, pushing open the door to the third-floor bedroom while trying to make as little noise as possible.
"An Han, how is your sister doing?"
Her father walked into the room with concern, placed the kettle on the computer desk, and turned his head—only to see An Han sitting at the head of the bed with a pale face. Meanwhile, her sister was already curled up on the bed, fast asleep.
"She's fine now." An Han raised her eyes and forced a smile at her father. "It stopped hurting just now, and she fell right asleep."
"That's good. Keep an eye on her these next few days, and don't let her eat any junk."
"I know."
An Han unconsciously pulled her legs in, curling her body up at the head of the bed, making her look somewhat petite.
Her father noticed something was off: "What's wrong?"
"An... an upset stomach..."
"What kind of junk did you eat this time?" Her father frowned. He turned around, poured half a cup of boiling water, and topped it off with mineral water. Once it was comfortably warm, he placed the cup on An Han’s nightstand. "Should I go downstairs and get some medicine?"
"No need, you should just go to sleep early."
Her father still seemed a bit hesitant, but An Han got up from the bed and pushed his shoulders, hurrying him out the door.
Hearing the sound of the door locking from the inside, he couldn't help but sigh.
She clearly looked like she wasn't feeling well, yet she refused to tell him...
"Call me if you feel too uncomfortable."
"Got it~"
After all, they rarely communicated normally. Even though their relationship had grown closer recently, there was still a barrier between them.
Her father considered whether he should quit his job abroad.
Now that there were no boys in the family, he no longer needed to spend his life far away from his family just to afford a house, a car, and an exorbitant bride price for a son.
Inside the room, An Han leaned against the door, her face pale. Clutching her lower abdomen, she slumped weakly onto the floor, as if those few steps had drained all her strength.
She couldn't bear to watch her sister suffer through the night, and she worried that given her sister's careless personality and frail body, she would be tortured by menstrual cramps every month from now on.
It was better to just choose Task One and solve the root of the problem, even though it made her own thighs tremble from the pain when she walked.
"My sister didn't look like she was in this much pain..."
This kind of pain wasn't so much like taking a power drill to the stomach; it was more like an intensified, amplified stomachache, just in a slightly different location.
If it was only a momentary sharp pain, An Han wouldn't care too much, but it was continuous, unending, and her stomach would intermittently spasm...
Grimacing, she propped herself up and pressed a hand warmer against her lower abdomen, but found no relief.
"Oh right, I have the 'Sensitive' attribute..."
The Sensitive attribute made her much more acutely aware of pain than ordinary people.
She had completely forgotten about that!
If she really ended up having to go to the maternity ward in the future... The pain—which was supposedly the worst a human being could experience—would probably just make her pass out completely.
An Han sighed and shakily sat back down on the edge of the bed. She then pulled at her sister, who was sleeping curled up in a ball, straightening out her sleeping posture a bit.
"Sis, I'm so tired~ Don't touch me~" her sister murmured in her sleep.
Usually, her younger sister got sleepy and went to bed around ten o'clock. Today, she had forced herself to stay awake until midnight because of the cramps.
Within minutes of An Han selecting the task and transferring the pain, this girl had fallen fast asleep, breathing heavily, almost snoring.
An Han pursed her lips and pressed the hand warmer—which was completely useless on herself—onto her sister's lower abdomen, gently massaging it in circles.
Hmm, sure enough, the pain lessened a bit.
The source of the pain was her sister, so she had to massage her sister's stomach and make her drink warm water to alleviate her own pain.
An Han let out an exasperated sigh: "Who asked you to be the one I watched grow up since childhood?"
"Always giving me a headache."
Even though the pain was intense, it wasn't utterly unbearable. An Han wouldn't whine and complain like a little girl, nor would she put on a pitiful act to gain sympathy. Having once been a man, she still had her own stubborn pride.
Quietly curling up into a ball, she continued massaging her sister's stomach with one hand while sending a message to Su Peng with the other.
"My Auntie hurts /Crying Loudly"
"It hurts so much I can't sleep /Crying Loudly"
"Stop joking, your period ended a few days ago, didn't it?" Su Peng replied instantly, exposing An Han's lie in a single sentence.
"You remember it that clearly?"
"Of course I do. After all, having to hide sanitary pads in my closet and sneaking them to you on the balcony like a spy exchanging intel..."
An Han fell silent for a moment, then sent another message: "It's completely normal for Auntie to be off-schedule sometimes, okay?"
"Seriously?" Su Peng still thought it was a prank.
She sent another pitiful emoji, then lay down, burying her head entirely under the covers.
"Tch~ Big pig trotter!" An Han muttered, tossing her phone aside.
The pain stimulated her brain, and fighting the pain gradually drained her energy. Usually, she wouldn't fall asleep until one or two in the morning, but shortly after lying down, she became drowsy.
But she would periodically be jolted awake by the pain, and after closing her eyes and getting used to the pain, she would fall asleep again, only to be jolted awake once more.
......
An Han was woken up by the sounds of someone getting out of bed.
She already had faint dark circles under her eyes, yawning as she poked her head out from the covers.
It didn't hurt anymore! Only the lingering, weird sensation of having her period remained in her lower abdomen.
But where was the notification that the task was completed?
"Sis! It doesn't hurt anymore!" Her younger sister was putting on her sweater on the bed. Seeing An Han wake up, she immediately put her hands on her hips and announced proudly, "It doesn't hurt at all!"
"Yeah, I can tell," An Han replied, her brow furrowed.
Did the task mean she had to endure her sister's entire period?
A girl's period could be as short as two or three days, or as long as a week... Everyone was different.
If her sister was the type to have prolonged periods, it could last for over eight days.
That was terrifying!
Enduring that kind of pain from last night once or twice was fine, but she wouldn't be able to handle much more of it!
Her sister had finished putting on her sweater. She stood up, taking off her pajama pants right in front of An Han to reveal her white underwear without an ounce of shame, and briskly pulled on a thick pair of pants.
In the past, when An Han was still her brother, she would have avoided doing this in front of him, but now it didn't matter.
Then, her sister jumped out of bed, ran loudly over to the computer desk, poured herself a glass of water, and gulped it down.
An Han froze for a second.
Her sister poured another glass of cool boiled water.
"Stop!" An Han suddenly shrieked at her. "You can't drink cold water while you're on your period! Go downstairs and boil some water!"
"Eh?"
