Chapter 99 098. Late-Night Snack

Dec 11, 2025 1,541 words

“It’s over—everyone did great today!”
At night, the bespectacled, elegant shop owner clapped her hands and announced cheerfully, “Get ready—you can all go off duty now!”

“Finally off work!” Lin Yi sighed deeply, stretching her arms with a delighted smile. “Standing all day has worn me out.”

If it hadn’t been for that adorable cross-dresser to tease, her whole day would’ve been utterly boring.

She turned toward An Han, whose expression was stiff despite his practiced customer-service smile, and immediately sidled up to whisper teasingly into his ear like a little demon: “So… how’s the bra feeling, little miss?”

An Han froze. His forced smile vanished instantly. He shot Lin Yi a flat, emotionless glance and wordlessly strode out.

“You haven’t collected your wages yet!”

He immediately spun around and hurried back inside.

The convention lasted three days, but An Han had no intention of coming back tomorrow.
All day long, his threshold for embarrassment had been shattered repeatedly. Thankfully, he was resilient enough not to flee mid-shift, covering his face in shame.

Lin Yi’s teasing was one thing, but he’d also kept spotting Long Xing watching him from afar, Su Peng dropping by intermittently just to “check in,” and even their advisor, Ren Chi, snapping no less than a dozen photos of him while mingling in the crowd.

Luckily, his sense of shame was… adaptable. Once he fully embraced shamelessness, he could ignore all their playful jabs.

After collecting his day-one wages, An Han trudged out of the venue alongside Lin Yi, utterly exhausted.

“How come you’re still frowning even after getting paid?” Lin Yi asked, still dressed in her ornate, regal hanfu—completely mismatched with her playful, tiger-toothed grin.

An Han didn’t bother replying. He simply turned his head away, gazing at the neon-lit city that never slept.

“Aren’t you changing back? Did you get addicted to wearing girls’ clothes?”

“Of course not! I just want to go home as soon as possible.”

Because the system notification still hadn’t disappeared—his task was still incomplete!

If the “one day” in the requirement meant only daylight hours, it should’ve already been done by now.
Clearly, “one day” meant a full 24 hours.

Damn that cheap-ass system—it’s never that generous!

An Han cursed inwardly. But after only a few steps, he spotted Su Peng standing not far ahead, waving at him.

His heart skipped a beat. He quickly stood on tiptoe to scan the area—thankfully, Long Xing and Chen Junjie were nowhere in sight.

“Ooh~ Looks like a handsome guy’s here to pick you up~” Lin Yi teased.

“He’s no ‘handsome guy’!” An Han muttered, unwilling to interact with Su Peng any more than necessary.

As Su Peng approached, Lin Yi’s face lit up with starry-eyed admiration, while An Han blushed crimson, lowered his head, and tugged his skirt hem down further.

He knew the gesture didn’t actually cover more of his thighs—but it gave him a tiny bit of psychological comfort.

Inside the convention hall, no one batted an eye at wild outfits—but now on the street, his form-fitting qipao and bare legs drew plenty of stares and hushed whispers from passing men.

He’s used to it… he’s used to it.

After a whole day of being ogled, An Han quickly regained his composure.

“Heading back to campus?” Su Peng asked as he reached them.

“Oh, sure, sure!” Lin Yi chirped.

“No, I’ve still got some stuff to do…” An Han intended to stick to his original plan: an all-nighter at the internet cafe.

He almost turned to leave—but after taking just one step, he hesitated and glanced back at Su Peng.

Would it be dangerous to go to the internet cafe alone?

Late at night, dressed so provocatively, he could easily attract predators—whether on the streets or even in a public place like a net cafe.

Even if city security was generally good… what if something happened?

He really needed someone to watch over him!

But… could he actually trust Su Peng to protect him—or was this just giving the guy a golden opportunity to get way too close?

Noticing An Han’s shifting eyes and obvious internal struggle, Su Peng asked, slightly puzzled, “What’s wrong?”

Chin propped on his finger, An Han wrestled with his thoughts for a painfully long moment before reluctantly asking, “Uh… wanna grab some late-night snacks together?”

“Sure.”

“I…”

Before Lin Yi could even open her mouth to volunteer herself, An Han slapped a hand over her shoulder. “You head back first. I’ve got some stuff to discuss with Su Peng.”

Lin Yi’s face instantly fell. Grumbling under her breath as she pulled up a ride-hailing app on her phone, she muttered, “They definitely have something going on—if it’s just snacks, why can’t I come too?”

The two ignored her quiet grumbling and walked side by side toward a nearby street.

Su Peng kept glancing at An Han from time to time, and after a while, couldn’t help but ask, “Why don’t you change back into guys’ clothes?”

“I…” An Han paused, then reused the same excuse he’d given Lin Yi: “I’m too tired. Don’t feel like changing.”

To make it more convincing, he added with exaggerated flair, “You have no idea—putting on makeup takes ages, and taking it off takes forever too! I can’t just wear guys’ clothes with a full girl’s makeup face, right?”

Su Peng immediately pointed out the flaw: “Why not? Girls wear guys’ clothes all the time these days.”

“…”

I shouldn’t have over-explained! That just made me look guiltier!

An Han quickly averted his eyes, then pointed toward a large barbecue restaurant down the street. “Let’s get barbecue! That place!”

Su Peng clearly saw he was changing the subject—but given how stunning An Han looked in that qipao, he chose not to press further.

Still, a small suspicion lingered in Su Peng’s mind:
Could it be… that An Han actually really liked wearing this qipao and couldn’t bear to take it off?

At school, he had to maintain a male appearance at all times—but now, outside campus, was he finally indulging freely in his love for girls’ clothing?

At the entrance of the barbecue restaurant, An Han turned back and saw Su Peng still wearing that thoughtful expression.

Who even knows what wild ideas this guy’s cooking up about me in his head?!

It’s just the system’s stupid task, okay?!

“I’ll treat tonight!” An Han pulled out his phone, flashing a fake-cheerful smile as he showed Su Peng a fake transfer receipt. “I made 500 today!”

Su Peng finally looked up at him and chuckled, shaking his head. “Let’s split it. You didn’t earn that 500 easily.”

“Whatever you say.”

The night breeze carried a chill. His bare shoulders grew cold, causing him to hunch inward slightly. His legs, exposed beneath the skirt, pressed tightly together for warmth.

The hem fluttered with the wind, prompting An Han to instinctively press a hand against the slit—to prevent another wardrobe malfunction.

Even though he was trying his best to ignore the fact that he was in women’s clothing, walking down the street still sent waves of shame crashing through his mind.

“Let’s go in before you catch a cold,” Su Peng said gently.

“Mm.”

An Han pushed open the glass door first. The warm, bustling aroma of grilled meat and spices instantly chased away the chill—and with no wind to lift his skirt, he finally relaxed his tense posture.

He found a table and, as he sat down, smoothed his short skirt neatly under his hips with both hands.

Across the table, Su Peng rested his chin in one hand, watching An Han’s natural, graceful gesture—so seamless that no one would ever guess he was biologically male.

Moments later, a server arrived with a menu.

An Han held the pen in one hand, cheeks flushed, brows furrowed in adorable concentration. His left index finger tapped absently below his lips. After a long pause, he finally looked up, his nose twitching slightly as he asked in a sweet, hesitant tone, “What do you wanna eat? Everything looks so good~ The pictures are super tempting~”

Clearly, the most tempting thing on this table is you.

Su Peng wisely kept that lewd thought to himself. “Let me see the menu.”

“Here’s the pen too—I barely ordered anything yet.”
