Chapter 331 328. The Study Abroad Issue
The day after celebrating Su Peng’s birthday, Su Yichang left to attend to his work.
However, Su Peng hadn’t been in a very good mood these past few days. He had clearly gone to the hospital for a checkup and had even tried testing things himself.
But whenever it came to An Han’s hands, he would always be utterly defeated, completely unable to resist.
Not only that, An Han seemed to have a strange talent for this kind of thing. The first time she had been shy and inexperienced, but by the second time she was already very skilled… It wasn’t that he was incapable—the enemy was simply too powerful.
He didn’t know whether to feel happy or sad about it.
At noon on the weekend, An Han leaned against the doorframe of the fitness club, arms crossed as she looked into the room.
Su Peng was doing squats. He actually belonged to the fighting club, but the fitness club didn’t prohibit other students from using the equipment—in fact, they welcomed it.
Wang Yu, the president of the fitness club, was jogging slowly on the treadmill, while Long Xing, who usually came to work out every day, was nowhere to be seen.
Inside the large club room, only a few scattered people were exercising.
There had been a recruitment drive for the club last semester, but today only one unfamiliar face appeared among the members. The others had probably all quit.
After hesitating for a while, Wang Yu got off the treadmill and sat on a nearby bench. His face remained expressionless as always, like an iceberg, but his gaze was somewhat blank as he looked at the pretty girl standing by the door.
She looked a bit familiar, but he genuinely couldn’t remember where he had met her before.
She seemed like a fitness enthusiast. Although she was dressed fairly conservatively, her figure and posture were well-proportioned and slender, with graceful curves.
After briefly glancing her up and down, Wang Yu realized she was Su Peng’s girlfriend. He didn’t stare any longer. He picked up his water bottle and gulped down half of it, then stood up to guide the other club members with their training.
An Han let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Luckily he hadn’t recognized her. Otherwise she might have been dragged into working out again.
“An Han.”
Su Peng staggered over to her at that moment, walking unsteadily. “Why did you come to school?”
Today was the weekend. Normally An Han would be staying in her rented apartment, waiting to go out with him for shopping in the afternoon.
“Let’s go eat together~”
“It’s already one o’clock and you haven’t eaten yet?”
He frowned, then looked up at the slightly expectant expression on her face and said helplessly, “Alright. Let me clean up and we’ll go eat.”
“Okay!”
After their relationship had grown more intimate, this girl had become more and more clingy.
Su Peng didn’t mind her clinginess, but it did give him a bit of a headache—and also made him worry about the future.
At one o’clock on the weekend, the cafeteria barely had any students.
An Han pretended to support Su Peng by the arm as they lifted the plastic curtain and entered the cafeteria.
Su Peng had just finished doing weighted squats and could barely walk steadily, so she ran around by herself ordering food.
She brought back two trays, sat down beside Su Peng, but didn’t start eating. Instead, she stared straight at him.
“Don’t even bring it up…”
Before she could speak, Su Peng already knew what she wanted to say. He rubbed his forehead helplessly and sighed. “Last night was an accident.”
“It’s fine. Just recover faster—my hands won’t get sore.”
An Han suppressed a laugh as she comforted him, then added teasingly, “Why is it always an accident?”
That kind of comfort only made Su Peng more irritated.
As a man, anything could be wrong—but in this particular aspect, in front of his girlfriend, he absolutely had to stand tall.
“I’ll go back to the gym after we eat.”
“You’re still going? Don’t actually train yourself into someone like Long-ge… I don’t like overly bulky guys.”
Su Peng’s current physique—slim when dressed yet lean and powerful when undressed—fit An Han’s tastes perfectly.
But even though his body was great, he was still so weak in that regard.
“I won’t.”
“Then I’ll go to the library to read…”
Used to eating together, An Han still had a good appetite and a cheerful mood even though they didn’t have much to talk about at the moment. Being around Su Peng always seemed to relax both her body and mind.
As long as she was beside him, her mood rarely turned bad. Even when she got angry, it was mostly shy irritation that came quickly and faded quickly.
“In a few days I’ll need to take some leave.”
“Hm?” An Han still had a piece of meat in her mouth as she looked up at him.
Su Peng thought for a moment before saying, “I need to start preparing for the visa.”
“Oh~”
An Han responded casually and continued eating without paying much attention.
She had always known Su Peng would go abroad, and she had already prepared herself for it long ago…
Before long, her mouth was stuffed full of food, her cheeks puffed out as she spoke indistinctly.
“Can’t you just not go?”
“What?”
She swallowed the food. “I mean, it’s pretty good to go abroad for a while—adds prestige and makes it easier to find a job later…”
“But wait, your family is rich, right? Why not just go work in your family’s company?”
She muttered without looking at Su Peng’s expression.
Su Peng’s plan to study abroad had been decided back in high school. It was his family’s requirement. At the time, he didn’t feel any resistance toward going overseas. As long as he followed the path arranged by his family, his life would probably go smoothly.
But now…
“How long until you leave?”
“August.”
“That’s still quite a while… and you’re already applying for the visa?”
“Just preparing the documents.”
Su Peng studied An Han’s expression but couldn’t see much emotion on her face.
That actually made him even more uneasy.
Their relationship had grown closer recently, and An Han had begun showing a clingy side. He worried that after he left the country, she might feel down for a long time.
“You’re going too?”
“I told you before. My dad once tried to send me abroad, but my visa documents were falsified. It got rejected, and I was banned for ten years.”
An Han looked up with a bright smile. “My dad works in the UK too. When the time comes, I’ll ask him to look after you.”
“We might not even be in the same city…”
Su Peng felt that if his future father-in-law really did “look after” him, it would probably mean constant criticism and nitpicking.
“True.”
He looked at An Han’s face, still frowning slightly with concern.
“How about… I just don’t go?”
“Up to you.”
An Han still wore her usual smiling expression. She tried not to think too much about the issue, worried that the system would pop up and make things worse.
But before long, her mind couldn’t stop itself from thinking.
Maybe she should just make Su Peng stay. For him, studying abroad probably wouldn’t make much difference anyway. He would eventually take over his family’s company regardless…
If she said it directly and pretended to be a little pitiful, maybe Su Peng would stay.
But she frowned and stabbed the lion’s head meatball on her tray with her chopsticks several times.
After all, she had been a man for twenty years! It was only a temporary separation—why was she suddenly acting so sentimental?
She suddenly realized that the longer she stayed with Su Peng, the more her independence seemed to fade. She was gradually getting used to his presence, used to relying on him.
It had to be the system affecting her thinking again, trying to turn her into a weak woman who couldn’t live without a man!
Damn system!
An Han’s troubled expression and furrowed brows were all clearly noticed by Su Peng.
