Chapter 333 330.
An Han actually had little interest in shopping. Whether when she was still a man or now after becoming a girl, her hobbies leaned more toward staying at home. Going out to wander around stores felt a bit like torture to her.
There wasn’t anything in particular she wanted to buy, nor did she like spending money on flashy or unnecessary items. The clothes at home were already enough; at most she would buy some daily necessities.
But going out with Su Peng was different...
Things like this really depended on who you were with. Even if they were just holding hands and wandering aimlessly down the street, she could still immerse herself in the moment.
After walking around outside with Su Peng for more than an hour that afternoon, they finally took a taxi home when Su Peng couldn’t take it anymore.
She had no idea what had gotten into him lately. Recently he kept going to the fitness club, saying he wanted to train his legs and glutes. Yet after all that, he still couldn’t even keep up with her while shopping.
Of course, An Han had looked up online why Su Peng had suddenly started working out. Apparently training legs could improve a man’s endurance...
Anyway, after several days she hadn’t seen any results. Su Peng was always defeated by her easily, unable to last even a single round.
Stretching lazily as she walked into the rental apartment, An Han flopped onto the sofa, rolled onto her side, and propped up her cheek while watching Su Peng, who had just come in.
“Why are you moving so slowly?”
“My legs are sore and aching...”
“Who told you to go work out when you had nothing better to do?”
When they were out shopping she had been full of energy, but now she yawned several times in a row as exhaustion welled up from deep within her body.
It was only three in the afternoon. She could still take a nap.
Su Peng placed the mop he had bought from the supermarket outside the residential complex against the wall.
“By the way, help me grab a bott—” An Han had just started to call out, but suddenly realized she had been getting too lazy. If this kept up, Su Peng would sooner or later turn her into a chubby girl, so she flipped over to get up herself.
But just as she sat up, Su Peng was already walking toward the kitchen.
“Don’t drink cola. Aren’t you on your period?”
“It’s fine.”
“I’ll boil some water for you.”
These days An Han had been on her period, yet Su Peng kept seeing her calmly gulp down ice-cold cola every day, which made him nervous. He was worried that one day menstrual cramps would suddenly hit.
“I want cola!”
“Drink warm water. I’ll mix it with some mineral water for you. Just wait two minutes.”
An Han quickly climbed up and ran toward the fridge, but Su Peng had already positioned himself there in advance, even leaning against the fridge door to block it.
“I just want to drink cola.”
“You’re on your period. No.”
She glared fiercely at him, but Su Peng completely ignored the glare and patiently persuaded her.
“It’s only a few days each month. Just stop drinking cola for a few days.”
“You’re healthy now, sure. But if you get menstrual cramps later, the one suffering will still be you.”
An Han sighed.
“It’s fine. I’ll never have cramps in this life.”
Unless that stupid system removed all the skills and attributes it had already given her when it uninstalled.
But wouldn’t that mean she’d turn back into a man? No matter how she thought about it, that seemed impossible.
Seeing that Su Peng clearly didn’t believe her, An Han had no choice but to mutter,
“I have a system, you know...”
“Reading too many novels lately?”
“...”
That’s why saying things like this was useless—no one would believe it.
Anyway, Su Peng couldn’t stay here every day. An Han would always find chances to drink cola, so she didn’t keep arguing. Instead she looked listless and lay back down on the sofa.
Su Peng had already put the water on to boil. He came back to the living room and pulled over a stool to sit down.
“I’m heading home later.”
“Didn’t you say you’d take leave and go back in a few days?”
An Han suddenly jolted upright and widened her eyes.
“Going back in a few days is to handle the paperwork for studying abroad and prepare for leaving. But now I’m not going abroad anymore.” Su Peng was booking a ride-hailing car for half an hour later on his phone while continuing without looking up. “Since I’m not going anymore, I should tell my parents. It’s a big matter, so it’s better to say it in person.”
“I see...”
“I should be back tomorrow. What do you want to eat? I’ll bring you something from the city center.”
An Han looked a bit worried.
“Didn’t you say your parents would be angry?”
“They’ll be angry if they want to be. I’ve made them angry plenty of times before.”
That was true. After all, during middle and high school Su Peng had been a delinquent who never studied. His parents had probably scolded or beaten him constantly.
“After I leave, be careful yourself. Remember to lock the door at night.”
“I know.”
Little things like that were actually An Han’s specialty. If she ever forgot to lock the door before sleeping, there was a good chance she had intentionally left it unlocked for Su Peng. Yet Su Peng, who had benefited from that before, simply thought she was careless...
Seeing how calm and composed he looked, she gradually relaxed.
Yawning again, she rolled over and found a comfortable position.
“Then I’ll go take a nap later.”
Su Peng nodded and didn’t say anything more. After mixing the boiled water with mineral water, he poured a cup of warm water and placed it on the coffee table before hurrying to leave.
There was a hint of worry in his eyes. He had no idea how his family would react when they heard about his decision.
“Su Peng!”
Just as he opened the door and put on his shoes to leave, An Han’s voice came from behind him.
Su Peng turned back and saw the girl running toward him barefoot, her feet slapping lightly against the floorboards.
“What’s wrong?” he asked with a gentle smile.
“I’ll go too!”
A faint blush appeared on An Han’s face. Standing in front of him, she looked up and suggested,
“If I go, they probably won’t get too angry in front of me, right?”
“And… if you bring your girlfriend home, maybe they’ll be happy and won’t get angry at all.”
At first she had felt reassured seeing how calm Su Peng was and almost believed his words.
But thinking about it again, rejecting studying abroad was option two—a medium-difficulty task.
Su Peng’s attitude clearly wasn’t the difficult part of the task, which meant the real challenge was probably his parents.
“Why would you go?” Su Peng rejected the idea without hesitation. “It’s far away. A round trip would take several hours. Just stay here and take your nap.”
“But—”
“I’m leaving. Call me if anything happens.”
After putting on his shoes, the door slammed shut with a loud bang. The sudden sound startled An Han and made her take two steps back.
This guy...
“So reckless. Even closing the door so loudly.”
An Han quickly ran to the living room window and looked outside just in time to see Su Peng standing not far from the residential complex, waving at her.
“Come back early! Remember to bring me something tasty!”
“Send me what you want on WeChat!”
She waved back at him before pulling the curtains closed again and muttering softly,
“Why does it feel like a life-or-death farewell?”
Tasks of the second difficulty level usually weren’t that hard. Su Peng could definitely handle it.
After all, there was no way Su Peng would be worse than her, right?
An Han just felt that since she was the one who started all this, if she didn’t participate or contribute anything, she would feel uneasy.
But thinking about it carefully, if she went along she might just make things worse…
After all, that was still Su Peng’s family matter.
