Chapter 109 107. The Idea of Living Off Campus
At noon the next day, right after class ended, An Han came to the floor where the teachers’ offices were located and craned his neck to look inside.
Most of the desks were empty. He searched around but didn’t see Ren Chi anywhere, so he could only let out a helpless sigh.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, he suddenly heard a door open from another office behind him.
“An Han?”
“Brother Ren~”
An Han moved over in pleasant surprise, but Ren Chi was holding documents and walking briskly.
An Han could only jog along behind him.
“What is it? I have a meeting to get to.”
“I want to live off campus.”
“No.”
“Come on, with our relationship~” An Han laughed, trying to muddle through, already starting to think about what gift he could give Ren Chi as a bribe.
Ren Chi slowed his steps, turned his head, and glanced at An Han. “It’s precisely because our relationship is good that I won’t allow it. What if you stir up trouble outside? What if something happens?”
“It won’t, okay!”
Ren Chi neither agreed nor disagreed, just nodded slightly.
Given An Han’s looks and his boldness as a guy who dared to wear a qipao to a cosplay convention, it really wasn’t certain that nothing would happen.
He already played around this much on campus—if he lived off campus with no one to supervise him, who knew what he’d get himself into?
“The sports meet is coming up. Things are hectic. Let’s talk about it after the sports meet.” Ren Chi hurried upstairs.
“Huh?”
An Han was left standing there, sinking into thought as he realized the difficulty of the task he was facing.
The task requirement was not to participate in the sports meet. But he had agreed to participate at Ren Chi’s request. If he suddenly changed his mind, then the already difficult request to live off campus would become even more impossible to get approved.
And rather than a request, it had been more like coercion with carrots and sticks.
Back then, Ren Chi had discovered the women’s clothing hidden under his bed. With a sly smile, he had forced An Han to participate in the sports meet, and An Han had no way to refuse—otherwise, the secret of his cross-dressing would be known by more people.
So if he backed out of the sports meet at the last minute, the secret of his women’s clothing could very well be exposed publicly. Ren Chi had taken quite a few photos of him in a qipao and was holding solid evidence.
The difficulty of Option One lay in its aftereffects. Completing the task itself was easy, but eliminating the consequences afterward would definitely be troublesome.
“Ren Chi isn’t that kind of person, right?”
An Han muttered to himself. From his interactions and observations during this period, Ren Chi’s personality shouldn’t be that nasty… right?
Besides, Ren Chi’s favorability toward him was also quite high.
Since there was no progress on Ren Chi’s side for now, An Han switched his focus.
“Staying in the dorm is too dangerous. I need to talk to my roommates about helping me answer roll call in the future—especially Wang Sheng. I just helped him solve the team issue, so helping with roll call should be acceptable, right?”
He first bought three meals at the cafeteria, then returned to the dorm.
As soon as he pushed open the dorm door, Chen Junjie’s noisy voice rang out inside: “Why did it take you so long just to buy food? I’m starving to death!”
“Be grateful you even get food! If you hadn’t called me ‘dad,’ I wouldn’t have brought you any!”
An Han shot him a glare and casually placed the three meals on the table. Chen Junjie didn’t retort, just ran over, grabbed his meal, and left.
All the morning classes had been easy filler courses, so Chen Junjie and Wang Sheng would rather sleep in the dorm than go to class. Long Xing, meanwhile, usually preferred ordering takeout and wasn’t keen on going to the cafeteria to “show off,” so the task of buying food for the roommates fell on An Han.
As soon as he sat down, An Han shifted his gaze to Wang Sheng.
He scooted closer with a grin. “Wang Sheng, help me answer roll call tonight?”
“You’re going out to have fun?”
“No, I’m hiding on the balcony.”
Wang Sheng raised his head in confusion. “Why hide on the balcony? Is the one doing roll call today your enemy?”
“Just testing it out. I want to move out and live off campus after a while.”
As soon as he said this, Long Xing and Chen Junjie almost simultaneously looked at him.
“It’s less than a year left—why live off campus?” To An Han’s surprise, Chen Junjie was the first to speak. He wore a dissatisfied, sarcastic expression. “Don’t tell me someone here doesn’t see himself as part of the dorm anymore, would rather live outside than stay with us.”
This guy’s words were always unpleasant.
“And besides, do you even have money? Going to live outside? What, found yourself a sugar daddy?”
“If you don’t speak, no one will think you’re mute!” An Han fumed, grabbing an empty water bottle from the table and throwing it at him.
Long Xing also tried to persuade him. “Did you find an internship, or are you uncomfortable living in the dorm? There’s really no need to live outside.”
Because of you! I’ve tried so hard and your favorability still won’t drop—this is the last resort!
“Anyway, I want to live outside.” An Han shook his head stubbornly.
As long as he could live off campus, he could minimize contact with Long Xing and Su Peng as much as possible.
And if he lived alone off campus, wearing women’s clothes would also be more conven—
He forcefully suppressed the thought that suddenly popped into his head, lowered his head to eat, and offered no further explanation.
The other roommates looked at each other, completely unable to understand why he suddenly wanted to leave.
“Don’t tell me you got a girlfriend and want to go out and enjoy some alone time with her?” Chen Junjie teased.
Having a girlfriend would be great~
An Han smiled bitterly inwardly. Even if a girl liked him now, he wouldn’t dare accept her confession, afraid of holding her back.
Long Xing had a different take. “Is it because you’re always bullying Xiao Han and he can’t take it anymore?”
“When did I ever?” Chen Junjie flatly denied his crimes.
“After all, An Han’s put up with you for two years,” Wang Sheng agreed.
“I suspect the three of you are teaming up to mess with my mentality!”
It was just one roommate moving out—was this really necessary?
An Han had just finished lunch and turned to look at the three of them.
It was one thing for Long Xing to be reluctant, but even Chen Junjie—whose favorability toward him was only in the fifties and who was always butting heads with him—seemed a little unwilling to let him go?
Could it be that Chen Junjie also liked him?
Just that his way of showing it was like a middle schooler’s—immaturely bullying the person he liked to assert his presence?
That couldn’t be it… right?
An Han observed their expressions but couldn’t see anything unusual, so he stood up and walked toward the balcony.
If only a task reward like mind reading would come sooner—then he wouldn’t have to keep guessing like this. When facing roommates and friends with high favorability, he’d be able to tell whether their feelings came from brotherhood or love.
“Hey! An Han!”
Just after washing his face, Chen Junjie came onto the balcony with a cigarette in his mouth.
“What?” An Han distanced himself from Chen Junjie with obvious disgust.
Ever since his body had become more feminine, he had grown increasingly repulsed by the smell of smoke. At least the two people in the dorm who smoked usually preferred to do it on the balcony.
But that also meant that clothes dried on the balcony would always pick up some of the smell.
“Are you really planning to move out, or are you just joking?”
“I’m moving out.”
“Then where’s the money coming from? Found a rental place yet? Helping you answer roll call isn’t just a one- or two-time thing—are we supposed to help you for the entire next year?”
“……” An Han fell silent for a moment, then muttered, “Then I’ll answer roll call at night and climb over the wall to go out.”
He hesitated slightly. Living off campus really was an impulsive idea—he hadn’t made proper preparations yet.
