Chapter 126 124. A Thoughtful System

Jan 07, 2026 1,387 words

An Han’s mood was pretty terrible.

The period debuff combined with the confusion of having just turned into a woman made her spirits sink even lower.

But the urgent matter now was to buy a pack of sanitary pads first.

Leaving the dorm building, An Han headed straight toward the nearby convenience store. After taking just a few steps, however, she hesitated and changed her destination to the school’s large supermarket instead.

The convenience store owner was fairly familiar with her, often chatting casually whenever she bought things. She worried that buying sanitary pads there would earn her strange looks from the owner.

Turning into a woman didn’t feel particularly special—she just kept feeling strangely empty between her legs.

Because she had only just become female, she felt insecure. Whenever someone glanced her way, she had the urge to cover her face, afraid they might notice something off about her.

The supermarket was located in the school’s food street. It was only a little past eight in the evening, the busiest time of the day there.

People picking up takeout, buying late-night snacks, getting haircuts, shopping—students all gathered here around this hour.

An Han tried hard to keep a straight face and not reveal her inner unease. Expressionless, she walked into the supermarket and stopped in front of the shelf dedicated to feminine products.

She lifted her head and looked at the rows of sanitary pads. The cool composure she had forced herself to maintain slowly gave way to a blush, confusion appearing in her eyes.

So many brands— which one should I use?

Why are there so many categories?

Day-use and night-use were easy enough to understand from the words alone, but what did terms like “ultra-soft,” “pure cotton,” and “dry feel” even mean?

Which one should I choose?

And what are these—tampons? What even are tampons?

Her head filled with questions, making her even more at a loss. She hesitantly picked up a pack of pads when she suddenly heard footsteps approaching. Startled, she immediately put them back and turned her head away, pretending nothing was happening.

The girl who passed by gave her a curious look, then quickly left the aisle.

An Han let out a breath of relief, then suddenly realized that with her current appearance, there was no need to worry about being mistaken for some perverted guy buying sanitary pads. Besides, as long as she didn’t run into acquaintances or classmates, she could confidently tell anyone she was a woman.

“An Han~”

Lost in thought, she suddenly heard a familiar female voice, and her expression changed instantly.

“Thanks for this afternoon!”

Along with a faint scent of perfume, the girl leaned right up against her and cheerfully looped an arm through hers.

Only then did An Han lower her head and realize it was An Kexin.

And what exactly are you thanking me for?

For letting you get all close with Su Peng in the tied-leg race?

She didn’t show her dissatisfaction. Tensing up, she stiffly asked, “Why are you here…?”

“Picking up a package, and buying a few things on the way.” An Kexin lifted the small parcel in her hand, then asked curiously, “What about you? What are you doing here?”

“I…” An Han explained almost reflexively, “I’m buying sanitary pads for my girlfriend.”

“So that’s why you’ve been standing here for so long.”

So you noticed me a while ago, huh?!

An Kexin released An Han’s arm and muttered softly, “You actually have a girlfriend… I really couldn’t tell.”

“Is that so…”

“I thought you’d like boys.”

“……”

Seeing An Han stay silent, An Kexin hurriedly added, “Just kidding.”

“That wasn’t funny at all.”

“Sorry, sorry. Then how about I help you pick? You’re a guy—you definitely don’t know how to choose.”

An Kexin’s gaze swept across the different packs of pads as she muttered, “Did your girlfriend specify which kind she uses?”

“No, she didn’t.”

“Then maybe go with antibacterial ones? Girls are pretty fragile at times like this… hmm, this material is really breathable. I usually use this kind…”

An Han was so nervous her head was starting to spin. She didn’t really take in An Kexin’s casual explanations at all, mechanically taking two packs of sanitary pads from her.

Although her impression of An Kexin had inexplicably worsened a bit that afternoon, the girl was still pretty helpful.

At least she didn’t have to worry about following some online recommendation, having something go wrong, and not knowing who to blame.

If something went wrong with the pads An Kexin recommended, she could at least shift the blame onto An Kexin.

Curious, she pointed at the tampons on the shelf and asked, “Then what about those?”

“Huh?” An Kexin followed her gaze, her cheeks flushing slightly as she explained awkwardly, “I haven’t used them. I’ve heard they’re pretty good, though…”

“Oh… so at night you just use the night-use ones, right?”

“Yeah.”

An Han nodded in understanding, but then noticed that An Kexin’s look at her had turned a bit strange.

Realizing she’d talked too much, she tried to change the subject, but An Kexin had already asked suspiciously, “Why are you asking so much? Don’t tell me you’re the one using them?”

“N-no.”

An Kexin’s gaze dropped to An Han’s chest—still partly hidden by her jacket, yet clearly showing some curves. She also recalled that the last time they met, it had been in this very aisle of sanitary pads.

Under that scrutinizing stare, An Han grabbed the two packs and headed straight for the checkout counter.

Never mind whether she’d been exposed or not—after buying the pads, the real issue was how to use them in the dorm without being discovered.

“Remember to change every two hours during the day,” a reminder from behind whispered like a demon’s murmur.

An Han quickened her pace, lowering her head as she handed the pads to the cashier.

During the day, change them in public restrooms?

But how am I supposed to carry them normally? Tear them into small packs and stuff them in my pockets?

It seemed like An Kexin had noticed something off—had she already started suspecting I’m a girl?

It hasn’t even been two hours since I turned into one! That fast?!

After paying, An Han forced herself to stay calm and waved to An Kexin. “I’m heading back first. Bye.”

“Bye-bye~”

Carrying the supermarket’s plastic bag, she turned a corner and headed toward the nearest public restroom.

Thankfully, the shopping bag was opaque. Bringing it back to the dorm shouldn’t attract her roommates’ attention. The only problem was where to store it so it would be hidden yet easy to grab when needed.

This wasn’t like the women’s clothes or chest wrap from before—those weren’t used often and could be buried deep away. The chest wrap was even tucked between folded clothes, making it hard for roommates to find.

In the women’s restroom, after following an online tutorial to attach the sanitary pad to her underwear, An Han finally headed back to the dorm, still worried.

“This is ridiculous. I haven’t even gotten used to being a girl yet, and my period’s already here…”

“At least I didn’t turn into a girl all at once. I was already mostly feminized before—becoming a girl just added one more piece of equipment, so it hasn’t affected daily life that much…”

If, back when she first encountered the system, that delicate-looking boy had suddenly turned into a girl, such a drastic change in appearance would definitely have raised her roommates’ suspicions.

“Thinking about it this way, the system is actually kind of thoughtful…”

“What the hell—no it’s not! Damn system!”
