Chapter 301 298. Misunderstanding
Wu Dongming didn’t sleep well last night.
His mind kept replaying the moment on reporting day when he saw An Han—the beautiful yet painfully disappointed expression on her face lingering in his thoughts.
It bothered him a lot. That night he wanted to find An Han and apologize, but then he suddenly realized that An Han no longer lived in the dorms.
His thoughts were a mess. A familiar close friend was gradually turning into a girl before his eyes. Everything that once felt familiar was slowly fading away. Every time he saw An Han, there was a strong sense of unfamiliarity and rejection.
He still wanted to remain friends with her, but when facing such a pretty girl, he would become so nervous that he couldn’t say a word.
But since when did Su Peng get so close to An Han?
Wu Dongming casually glanced ahead and suddenly noticed that the entire group from An Han’s dorm had turned back to look at him.
Seriously? Just because I ignored you yesterday, you had to mobilize the whole dorm to condemn me?
He ignored them, yawned repeatedly, and slumped onto the desk.
An Han was becoming more and more like a girl.
She had even started wearing women’s clothing to class.
Back then at the hotel, it took a lot of effort to trick An Han into wearing women’s clothes once. But now it seemed like An Han had actually grown fond of cross-dressing.
Wu Dongming began to wonder if it was somehow his fault—maybe tricking her into wearing women’s clothes had accidentally awakened some strange kink in her.
But it wasn’t just the clothes…
When An Han walked into the classroom earlier, although it wasn’t very obvious, the slight rise on her chest looked like something was stuffed inside.
That didn’t seem like mere cross-dressing anymore.
By the time the four morning classes ended, it was already noon.
As usual, Wu Dongming picked up his textbooks and followed several dormmates out of the classroom.
Something felt strange, like someone had been watching him the whole time. When he reached the door, curiosity finally got the better of him. He turned his head and saw Long Xing smiling at him in a friendly way.
That smile…
It scared Wu Dongming so much he thought Long Xing might suddenly pull out a knife and charge at him.
But they had been classmates for years, and he quickly realized Long Xing had no ill intentions. So he forced a smile and returned the greeting.
“He smiled very stiffly! He must be feeling guilty!”
Watching Wu Dongming’s departing figure, Long Xing said excitedly.
“Maybe you just scared him…”
He glanced back at An Han and nodded thoughtfully.
An Han really didn’t understand why Wu Dongming had become the main suspect for Long Xing and Chen Junjie.
But after thinking about it carefully—around 1.7 meters tall, slim build, and a delicate, somewhat androgynous appearance—Wu Dongming really was the only one around her who fit the description.
Besides, the counselor Ren Chi rarely appeared in front of students, and Long Xing didn’t know that Ren Chi actually had a good relationship with An Han.
“Taking the blame for the counselor… I guess it’s a worthy death?”
An Han almost burst out laughing.
Su Peng quietly reminded her, “Don’t let them hear you.”
“Mm!” An Han immediately shut her mouth obediently. Her big eyes darted around as she looked at Su Peng. “Why do I feel like you’ve gotten a bit bad?”
She hadn’t even thought about shifting the blame onto someone else.
“There’ll be worse in the future.”
“….”
It somehow sounded like Su Peng was making a dirty joke.
An Han rolled her eyes at him but didn’t care much about what would happen next between Long Xing and Wu Dongming. After all, it was just a misunderstanding—nothing too interesting would come of it.
“I’m heading back first. I’m so sleepy.” An Han stretched lazily. She hadn’t slept well last night because she was wary of Su Peng sneaking in at night.
“Come to the dorm building with me. I’ll ride my bike and take you home. It’ll be faster.”
Her eyes lit up, and she quickly followed him. “Great! I was too lazy to walk anyway!”
“How about I pick you up and drop you off every day?”
“That’d be even better!”
Su Peng originally thought about simply giving her the bicycle. But after reconsidering, he figured that picking her up every day would be a better way to grow closer.
“Then I’ll wait downstairs at 7:30 every morning. We can grab breakfast together too.”
An Han nodded rapidly. She grabbed Su Peng’s wrist and jogged toward the dorm building.
“Perfect! Then we can go watch the show!”
“The show?”
“To see how Dongming explains himself~ Help me climb over the wall!”
Su Peng let himself be pulled along while following An Han’s pace. He glanced at the surrounding classmates who hadn’t left yet, a little worried that if An Han acted too intimately with him, rumors might start spreading in class.
But An Han didn’t seem to care at all…
Meanwhile, Wu Dongming had already returned to his dorm.
Just like last semester, the moment he got back he sat down in front of his computer, opened a recently watched anime, and while listening to the opening theme, lowered his head to order lunch on his phone.
His other roommates gradually returned as well. The dorm was quiet—they were all the quiet type who preferred doing their own thing.
But Wu Dongming liked the lively atmosphere in An Han’s dorm more, where everyone joked and messed around.
The door suddenly opened again.
Wu Dongming instinctively turned his head and saw Chen Junjie walking in casually.
That guy often wandered into other dorm rooms anyway, so he didn’t think much of it and continued struggling over what to order for lunch.
But two minutes later, he looked up again and found Chen Junjie standing beside him, apparently watching the anime on his screen with interest.
“What anime is this?”
“** Chronicle.”
It didn’t sound like a very proper anime…
Chen Junjie narrowed his eyes and glanced over Wu Dongming’s desk.
Even tough guy Long Xing had a very girly pink thermos cup on his desk. But Wu Dongming’s desk had absolutely nothing feminine about it.
Whether color, design, patterns, or anything else… everything looked completely normal.
His gaze then shifted to Wu Dongming’s wardrobe, wondering if there might be women’s clothes inside.
Probably impossible.
Back when An Han wore women’s clothes every day, nobody discovered any in the dorm either…
“Do you need something?” Wu Dongming frowned, noticing that Chen Junjie still hadn’t left. As far as he knew, they didn’t have much interaction.
“This anime looks interesting. Is it an isekai?”
Chen Junjie found an excuse to keep lingering.
Mentioning the anime he was watching immediately sparked Wu Dongming’s enthusiasm.
“Yeah, an isekai. A middle-aged man gets transported to a world similar to World War II and turns into a little girl…”
Whatever he said afterward, Chen Junjie no longer cared.
He nodded in realization.
That kind of setting sounded pretty strange…
Looking again at Wu Dongming’s delicate face, if he put on some makeup and wore pretty women’s clothes, he might actually look like a beauty.
Could it be that Wu Dongming wanted to become a woman?
A ridiculous guess popped into Chen Junjie’s mind.
But maybe he just watched this kind of transformation anime for fun. He still needed evidence.
So he quickly changed the topic to probe further.
“Hey, An Han even wore women’s clothes to class today…”
“If she wants to wear it, then wear it. I don’t know what’s gotten into An Han lately.” Wu Dongming sighed, thinking Chen Junjie had come to confront him or mediate on An Han’s behalf.
He had indeed been too cold toward An Han, but he didn’t really know how to fix it.
“Forget it. I get nervous every time I see her now.”
“!!!”
Chen Junjie felt like he had just grasped the key point!
Was it because An Han and Long Xing had caught him wearing women’s clothes, so he got nervous whenever he saw An Han?
