Chapter 141 139. Mana Replenishment in Progress【4/11】
Before this, An Han’s dorm would occasionally organize group movie nights.
The timing was usually late at night, after the internet cut off, when everyone in the dorm couldn’t fall asleep.
But An Han was the type who was perpetually sleep-deprived. Over the past two years, she had never once managed to finish a movie with her roommates—usually halfway through, she’d get sleepy, crawl into bed, and noisily complain that their computer screen was too bright and the movie volume was too loud…
Once or twice was fine, but after it happened too many times, the frequency of movie nights in the dorm naturally decreased.
“System, remind me when my mana is enough to use mind reading.”

Why does this system feel more and more human?
An Han froze for a moment—she hadn’t expected any reply at all.
Without thinking too much about it, she went to the balcony to splash some water on her face to clear her head, then returned to the dorm to continue the task of finding a movie.
She didn’t want to let herself stop. The busier she was, the purer her thoughts became.
She’d rather puzzle over why Su Peng was such an idiot, worry about being discovered by Long Xing, or think about how to pull strings with Ren Chi to get permission to live off campus, than dwell too much on her own future.
Only by doing this could she ignore, as much as possible, the fact that she had already become female—and temporarily forget her fear of what lay ahead.
She was growing more and more afraid of late nights. Every time before sleep, all kinds of chaotic, baseless speculations about the future would surface in her mind. Most of them were pessimistic visions that left her tossing and turning.
“It feels like I’m running away…”
“What movie is that?” Wang Sheng had just finished a game. He took off his headset and leaned over to look at An Han’s screen. “A horror movie?”
“No, it’s trash.”
An Han scrolled the mouse wheel, scanning through the list of movies on the site, and asked casually, “Take a look too—see if there’s anything you’re interested in.”
“What’s the point of watching movies? Gaming’s better.” Chen Junjie habitually sang a different tune from An Han.
This guy had the sweetest mouth and practically no bottom line when asking An Han to bring him food, but when it came to anything else, he always targeted her.
Long Xing also leaned in, and the three of them directly ignored Chen Junjie, who was still muttering to himself.
“Watching movies in broad daylight?” Seeing that no one paid him any attention, Chen Junjie strolled over behind them and peeked at An Han’s screen. “Hey, this one—this one! It looks kind of interesting.”
“The rating’s pretty high too. Let’s go with that!”
An Han made the final call, then operated Wang Sheng’s computer to search for the title and open it for online viewing.
Her own computer was a laptop with too small a screen, while Wang Sheng had bought an external large monitor specifically for gaming—perfect for watching movies.
Chen Junjie eagerly ran over to close the doors and windows and pull the curtains, turning the room into darkness.
The three of them dragged their chairs over to An Han, craning their necks to watch the opening of the horror movie. But An Han’s mind wasn’t on the film at all. She discreetly glanced at the men on either side of her, then looked back at Chen Junjie behind her.
This should count as close contact, right?
And it’s safer than interacting with Su Peng. That guy always likes to take advantage when I’m not paying attention—either touching me or flirting verbally.
My roommates are all pretty honest. The only thing I need to worry about is Long Xing’s affection increasing.
With her plan succeeding, An Han’s eyes curved like crescent moons. In a good mood, she leaned back against the chair and finally focused her attention fully on the story and atmosphere of the horror movie.
She’d always been quite fond of horror films—the adrenaline rush, racing heartbeat, and cold sweat were sensations she found a bit addictive.
But lately, doing system tasks had been exciting too. Even more thrilling than horror movies.
The more shameful the task, the more stimulating it was—just a bit too challenging for one’s sense of shame.
“Doesn’t seem that interesting.”
“It’s just the BGM that’s kind of scary.”
“An Han, don’t buy me spicy food next time. You know I don’t eat spicy.”
“I know. I just don’t remember.”
At first, they chatted quietly about the movie or talked about unrelated things. But as the plot gradually picked up, everyone’s nerves began to tighten.
An Han unconsciously sat up straight, gripping her pant legs tightly with both hands. Her gaze flickered—wanting to look but not daring to—occasionally glancing at the screen, though most of the time her eyes wandered elsewhere.
Bang!
A sudden light noise echoed in the dorm.
“Fuck!” Chen Junjie jumped up immediately, cursing. “Who the hell is it?! Are you sick in the head?!”
An Han’s heart lurched. Her whole body tensed, legs curling up to her chest. A scream had already reached her throat, but reason forced it back down.
If she screamed like a little girl, Chen Junjie would definitely mock her.
“What’s going on?” Su Peng pushed the door open and peeked inside. “It’s pitch black—what are you guys doing?”
“Watching a movie! Close the door already, you ruined the atmosphere!”
He stepped inside and casually shut the door, then glanced at the screen. “A horror movie?”
“What else would it be?”
Why is Su Peng here?!
An Han looked up at Su Peng behind her, a trace of worry rising in her heart.
Whenever she was around this guy, she’d unconsciously be drawn in. That was fine when there were strangers around—but now it was all her roommates!
Stay alert! Don’t get scared by the movie and dive straight into Su Peng’s arms!
Otherwise, the rest of her college life would be spent being teased!
Su Peng pulled over a chair. “Move over a bit, make some space. Pause the movie.”
Wang Sheng, who was sitting beside An Han, obediently shifted his chair—and Su Peng easily sat down right next to her.
Wang Sheng, couldn’t you be a bit more assertive?!
“What’s going on?” The door opened again as Wu Dongming poked his head in. “Yo, group viewing of porn?”
“It’s a horror movie!” An Han retorted indignantly.
“Count me in!”
Why are there more and more people?!
But that was actually a good thing—at least mana replenishment would be much more efficient.
An Han narrowed her eyes and beckoned to Wu Dongming. “Come over, sit here. Su Peng, make some room for him.”
“I’ll just sit in the back.”
Damn it! This is how you abandon me as a best friend?!
Just you wait—I’ll make you wear women’s clothes!
They used to be inseparable, but ever since An Han changed, Wu Dongming had subconsciously grown distant from her.
An Han suspected this guy simply needed a beating.
Just look at Long Xing, who was always being tormented by her—he was still hopelessly devoted!
The six-person dorm finally fell quiet again. An Han reached out and tapped the space bar, letting the movie continue.
Honestly, watching a movie together like this felt really nice.
It was like going back to before she ever encountered the system…
A few minutes later, she suddenly narrowed her eyes and turned her head toward Su Peng beside her.
Su Peng was completely focused on the screen, his body tense and subconsciously leaning toward An Han. Their shoulders were already pressed together, and she could even feel the slight tremble of his body.
Stop pretending, damn it! You’re really sitting there trembling in fear?!

Two extra chapters for tips, seven extra chapters for monthly tickets, plus two leftover chapters from last month—a total of eleven chapters.
The extra chapter record is crystal clear. Even if the updates are a bit slow, I won’t break my word.
So… where are the tickets?
