Chapter 216 213. Gifts
“How many outfits did you buy? Seven or eight sets? Can your wardrobe even fit all that?”
Back at the hotel, Su Peng was sorting through the women’s clothes An Han had bought, muttering to himself, “Most of them are spring and summer clothes, so they won’t go to waste.”
“After all, our winters are short.”
An Han sat comfortably on the sofa in the room with her legs crossed. The hidden area beneath her skirt faced Su Peng, but he had zero interest in looking.
That thing under the skirt wasn’t even safety shorts! It was just a pair of cotton shorts you could wear outside!
“Isn’t it uncomfortable wearing shorts under a skirt?” he asked.
“Why would it be uncomfortable?” An Han glanced down at her skirt. “This way I don’t have to worry about flashing anyone at all.”
She didn’t dwell on it, just turned to look out the window and yawned. “It’s almost twelve. The hotel staff will come kick us out soon.”
“It’s fine—my uncle owns the hotel.”
“……”
An Han didn’t know whether she should resent the rich or be happy to have a rich second-gen friend.
She yawned again, curled up lazily on the sofa, and urged him, “Then hurry up. I want to go back and take a nap.”
“I haven’t slept well these past few days at the hotel, and I’ve been dragged around shopping everywhere by my mom. I’m exhausted.”
“Next I still have to do my finals assignments and keep reviewing—just thinking about it gives me a headache.”
So wasn’t the system giving too many random physique stats? If it rolled intelligence this time, at least memorizing things wouldn’t be such a pain.
She was already at B+.
An Han looked worriedly at the slope on her chest.
It was a bit uncomfortable being compressed; when she walked, her center of gravity would subconsciously tilt forward…
Time to buy another bra~
Although the physique stat had lowered her body fat and even given her faint muscle lines around the waist and abdomen, did her bust really need to keep expanding?
She touched her lower belly. Even when sitting relaxed, she could still feel a bit of soft pudge.
If she got another physique stat, maybe she’d get visible abs?
But by then she’d probably be at least a C.
An Han didn’t dislike big and white—but only as an admirer, not as the one bearing the weight.
But clearly, Su Peng was very satisfied with her changes.
Every now and then he’d glance at her chest. From that look, he even seemed to hope she’d get bigger.
An Han shot him a vicious glare. “What the hell are you looking at!”
“Can’t you be gentler?” Su Peng straightened up awkwardly and picked up the suitcase. “All done. Let’s go.”
If there was one thing Su Peng ever had an issue with about her, it was probably those occasional curse words.
They always gave him the illusion that he was still hanging out with a bro.
An Han sprang up from the sofa and followed Su Peng out of the room.
As she moved closer, she suddenly noticed a bruise on his hand. “When did you get hurt?”
“Friday at noon.”
“!!!” She asked in shock. “How did I not notice at all?!”
Su Peng complained weakly, “With how careless you are, how could you possibly notice?”
“Why would I stare at your hands for no reason… How did you get hurt?”
He thought about it briefly and decided there was nothing he couldn’t say. “On Friday, I took Long Xing and the others to fight some guys in the neighboring dorm.”
“Did you lose or win?”
“Won.”
An Han relaxed. “As long as you won.”
But while Su Peng had fought back in junior and senior high, he’d been pretty well-behaved these past two years in college, hadn’t he?
And he even brought Long Xing?
“What about Junjie and Wang Sheng?”
“Wang Sheng’s not the fighting type, so I didn’t bring him.” Su Peng dragged the luggage with one hand, stuffed his injured hand into his pocket, and said casually, “It’s been too long since I fought. I’m a bit rusty—otherwise I wouldn’t have hurt my hand.”
Chatting as they went, they arrived downstairs at the hotel. An Han naturally got into the passenger seat, curiosity still in her eyes.
After Su Peng got into the car as well, she pressed on, “Why fight? And why didn’t you call me? I could’ve gone to cheer you on~”
“You’d have to climb over railings to get into the boys’ dorm.”
Su Peng mounted his phone on the holder, started the car, and drove smoothly onto the road. “Those guys had filthy mouths. Long Xing and Junjie talked it over with me and decided to beat them up.”
“Oh~”
An Han nodded in realization.
She understood the reason now—it was probably because some people had said nasty things when she wore women’s clothes to class, and Su Peng couldn’t stand it.
Otherwise, given Su Peng’s usual good temper at school, she couldn’t imagine any other reason.
As they drove toward the school, An Han leaned back in the seat, absentmindedly watching the scenery outside.
From time to time, she glanced at Su Peng’s profile and couldn’t help sighing inwardly.
She had no idea how to handle this relationship!
She had basically figured out her own feelings and could be sure that she liked Su Peng.
But she was still hesitant, unsure how to proceed.
After all, she’d only been a girl for a few months. Even though she liked him, the remnants of her male consciousness still made her somewhat resistant to intimate contact with Su Peng.
And then there was her mother—another difficult hurdle.
Though she said her mother had no right to interfere, if it got exposed, she’d probably get a scolding for sure. Just thinking about it made her shiver.
Her mother probably couldn’t imagine that while she repeatedly warned her little lamb not to associate with wolves, the lamb had already turned around and was flirting closely with one.
“An Han.”
“Hmm?”
“What are your plans for winter break?”
An Han answered almost without thinking, “Find a winter job. I want to earn some money to buy a set of makeup.”
Her mother had already bought her a set of skincare products last night while shopping for clothes, so makeup was the only thing left.
“How about I buy you a set?”
She shook her head vigorously. “No. If you buy it for me, I’ll definitely be too lazy to learn. Only makeup I buy with my own money will motivate me to learn.”
Su Peng neither agreed nor disagreed. Knowing An Han for so long, he understood her laziness and salted-fish nature.
The car stopped at a red light. He turned and took a white knitted hat out of the storage compartment. “If you don’t want makeup, then take this. It’s warm.”
“And earmuffs.” Without waiting for her to refuse, he smiled and tossed both items onto her thighs. “They were only fifty or sixty yuan total. Just take them.”
“I see your ears are red every day. If you don’t keep them warm, you’ll get chilblains.”
“Oh…” An Han lowered her head and responded softly, her cheeks flushed as she retorted, “I usually don’t start getting chilblains until late January. It’s not that soon.”
Her face was rosy. She’d just accepted a gift, yet her mouth still showed no mercy. “Good thing you didn’t make them yourself, or I really wouldn’t dare use them.”
She didn’t dare take out the gloves Su Peng had given her in front of her mother. The craftsmanship was too poor—her mother would tell at a glance that they were handmade, and that the person who made them held a significant place in her heart.
While waiting at the red light, Su Peng had already secretly observed An Han’s expression. That shy, half-inviting, half-resisting look was enough to satisfy him.
“I gave you a gift—aren’t you going to show some appreciation?” he asked half-jokingly.
“Well then…” An Han frowned slightly, thinking hard.
Su Peng had already started anticipating a sudden kiss from her.
“How about I carry you in ranked games tonight?”
“……”
———
I suddenly realized today is my birthday, so I’m going out for a good dinner tonight…
The promised extra chapter will have to wait until tomorrow—sorry~
And since the planned travel arc got canceled, I’m a bit stuck on the plot.
