Chapter 148 146. Your Slippers Look Pretty Nice

Jan 07, 2026 1,463 words

An Han was a little dazed.

She had never imagined that her decision to live off campus would actually make Chen Junjie lower his head and apologize to her.

Logically speaking, shouldn’t this guy be the happiest to see her move out?

Back when they first enrolled as freshmen, the issue of who slept on the upper and lower bunks had already made them enemies. Later, although neither of them brought it up again, they still never saw eye to eye. Either Chen Junjie would provoke her, or she would deliberately pick a fight with him.

This kind of interaction had gradually become routine over the past two years. Even though An Han was often so angry she wanted to explode, she had never really taken it to heart.

Seeing that she hadn’t answered for a long time, Chen Junjie looked at her again. “So what, you’re really dead set on moving out?! What exactly are you trying to do?”

“Well… I’m not moving out because of you,” An Han muttered. “I just casually found an excuse.”

“Then what’s your reason?”

For some reason, An Han felt as if she were betraying Chen Junjie—and betraying all her roommates.

She hesitated, then answered in a small, guilty voice, “You’ve seen what I look like now. It’s not really appropriate to stay in the guys’ dorm.”

Chen Junjie glanced at the pretty, slender girl standing in front of him. “Isn’t it just cross-dressing? It’s not like we’d do anything to you.”

You wouldn’t—but the problem is Su Peng and Long Xing.

An Han quickly weighed her options. After a fierce internal struggle, her face had already begun to flush red.

She didn’t want to expose the secret that she was actually a woman, but she still needed an excuse to brush Chen Junjie off.

After a moment, she decided to reveal a secret from long ago as her explanation—half-truths were the most convincing lies. “That ‘love at first sight’ girl Brother Long mentioned before… that was me cross-dressing. Living together with Brother Long makes me nervous, and I don’t like men.”

“So it really was you cross-dressing… I knew something felt off.”

She had expected mockery, but this time Chen Junjie didn’t do that. After thinking for a moment, he said, “Got it. You’re scared of Brother Long, right?”

“Not exactly scared…”

An Han herself didn’t quite know how to put it.

“Brother Long isn’t gay. I don’t know what you’re worried about.”

Under normal circumstances, there really wouldn’t be anything to worry about…

She could only respond with a wry smile.

“I’ve got something else to do.”

“Whatever. I can’t be bothered with you,” Chen Junjie muttered unhappily, turning back into the dorm.

Only then did An Han let out a breath of relief. She patted her flushed, burning cheeks. She had thought the secret between her and Long Xing would stay hidden forever—yet she’d ended up saying it just like that.

She could only hope Chen Junjie wouldn’t tease her in the future about using women’s clothes to tempt Long Xing.

Probably not. If he did, Long Xing would beat him half to death first.

She had originally thought the one who would least want her to leave would be Long Xing, who liked her, or Wang Sheng, who shared a bunk with her. Who would’ve thought it would be Chen Junjie, the guy who bickered with her every day?

An Han scratched her head, stood there in a daze for a moment, then turned and headed upstairs.

She needed to ask Wang Yu about the competition.

It was already evening, and the corridor was full of students running around.

Yet every time An Han passed by, those students would stop what they were doing and stare at her in surprise.

In the past, her appearance at least still had some masculinity, and her figure was flat enough. But now, even wrapped up tightly, her long legs and perky hips were impossible to hide. Her hair hadn’t been cut in a long time either, making her look just like a short-haired girl.

An Han had considered buying a pair of loose long pants, but since she would be moving out soon anyway, she could only leave it for now.

She arrived at Wang Yu’s dorm and raised her hand to knock.

“Who is it?”

The door opened, revealing one of Wang Yu’s roommates whom she had met before.

“Sister-in-law! Come in, come in!”

Sister-in-law?

An Han’s smile froze. Her feet didn’t move an inch, and she didn’t go in despite the enthusiastic invitation. “Call Wang Yu out. I need to talk to him.”

“Wouldn’t it be the same to talk inside?” the guy muttered, about to call for Wang Yu—

Only to realize Wang Yu was already standing behind him, wearing his trademark icy expression.

Wang Yu’s gaze passed over his roommate and landed on An Han’s face. Almost unconsciously, his eyes slid down to An Han’s bare feet in slippers.

The corner of his mouth twitched imperceptibly as he stepped out of the dorm. “What is it?”

“I wanted to ask about the competition. No chance anymore?” An Han turned and walked to the railing, leaning both arms against it and gazing at the opposite dorm building in the distance.

“Yeah, no chance. We’ve contacted every sponsor we could.”

Although he hadn’t seen An Han for a while, Wang Yu hadn’t expected her changes to be this drastic.

Before, even though An Han was girly, there were still traces of masculinity, enough to trigger a bit of his dislike for effeminate men. But now, when facing An Han, it felt as if he were facing any other girl—his eyes instinctively went first to observe the most beautiful part of a girl: her feet.

“Were you the one who talked to the sponsors?”

“There are a few people in the club specifically responsible for sponsorship,” Wang Yu couldn’t help adding. “You know my personality. I’m not suited for that kind of thing.”

At least you’re self-aware.

An Han muttered inwardly and turned her head back, only to realize Wang Yu’s gaze was almost entirely directed downward.

Following his line of sight, she discovered he was staring at her feet.

“You… why are you staring at my feet?”

Wang Yu immediately lifted his head, looking straight at her face, his expression stiff. “Your slippers look pretty nice.”

“Do they?”

An Han stared at him blankly, nearly blurting out whether he was a foot fetishist, but quickly swallowed the words.

Impossible. With that iceberg face, Wang Yu looked way too upright.

“I bought them on Taobao. I’ll send you the link.”

She lowered her head to operate her phone, searching for the purchase record of the slippers, and casually asked, “So when does the competition start?”

“Next Thursday and Friday. Tryouts start this weekend.”

“Oh~ Then I can go cheer you on.”

An Han noticed that Wang Yu seemed to be talking more than usual today.

“So Wang Sheng’s thing is completely off, then?”

“Yeah.”

[Task Failed]

Seeing this system notification for the first time, An Han froze for a moment, then quickly reacted.

So system tasks could fail too?

She had thought she could just drag it out—maybe for years—until some internet café tournament popped up.

She didn’t know how the judgment worked. After all, the task of putting Wu Dongming in women’s clothes still hadn’t failed to this day.

[Wang Yu’s Favorability +5]

“I sent the link.” An Han stuffed her phone into her pocket and looked up, only to see that guy staring at her slippers again.

What’s wrong with him?

You can gain favorability just by looking at slippers?

“Mm, got it.”

“Then I’ll get going?” An Han jogged off quickly, afraid she’d be dragged into another gym session.

And somehow, Wang Yu felt really strange today.

An Han’s thoughts kept drifting toward the idea that Wang Yu was a foot fetishist—and that Wang Yu was starting to like her—but recalling the upright impression Wang Yu had always given her, she felt it was more likely she’d been harassed too much lately and was starting to see everyone as a pervert.
