Chapter 275 272. Tsundere (Saying One Thing But Doing Another) [Bonus Chapter]
"This car, it must be worth hundreds of thousands~"
"How is An Han as mischievous as she used to be? Ever since becoming a girl, she's been so well-behaved, pretty, and considerate~"
"Why? I don't know how to explain it either. Later, I'll have An Han show you her medical report; you'll understand once you see it."
After Mother finished showing off Su Peng's car, she started showing off her daughter.
An Han's appearance was considered the most outstanding among all the relatives her age. Now, her personality wasn't as erratic and frustrating as it used to be either; she was much better than before.
"Ah! I won!"
Mother's eyes lit up as she excitedly pushed down the row of mahjong tiles in front of her.
She had good luck today. She had played a couple of rounds of mahjong with her sisters in the afternoon, won a few hundred bucks in pocket money, and soaked up their envious and jealous stares. She was in an exceptionally good mood.
Just as she was chatting with her sisters, Mother suddenly turned her head and looked at the three people who had just returned from the fields.
Her smiling face instantly darkened, and her cheerful mood completely clouded over.
Her previously youthful and beautiful eldest daughter now had pitch-black palms and smeared charcoal ash at the corners of her mouth. Her image, let alone a graceful little fairy, was practically an ugly duckling.
The youngest daughter was even more frustrating. Her fair and tender cheeks were covered in a layer of dirt, and the new clothes bought for the New Year were completely filthy. At first glance, you would think she was a refugee from somewhere.
"Mom! Do you want a roasted sweet potato?!"
The little sister, completely oblivious, ran up carrying the roasted sweet potatoes. She enthusiastically took out one with a completely carbonized shell and handed it to Mother, saying proudly, "I roasted it myself! Even big sister said it was good after trying it!"
Mother's face was as black as coal.
"Auntie! Do you want to eat some?!"
Seeing Mother didn't react, the younger sister offered the sweet potato to the relative next to her: "I roasted a lot!"
Grandfather stood behind the younger sister, chuckling. Seeing that Grandfather was the instigator, Mother couldn't lose her temper. She forced a smile and took a sweet potato: "Hurry up and wash your hands and face, and your clothes... wipe them with a wet towel."
An Han subconsciously lightened her footsteps, tiptoed past Mother, and then sprinted towards the bathroom.
Her little sister was still too naive. Being fine now didn't mean she wouldn't get a beating after they got home.
After tidying up her appearance in the restroom and washing away all the black on her palms and around her lips, An Han finally breathed a sigh of relief.
By the time they returned from roasting sweet potatoes, it was already evening, right on time for dinner.
They set up a large round table, and the group of people filled it perfectly.
On An Han's left and right were her mother and younger sister. Her father sat on the younger sister's side. After sitting down, he behaved himself perfectly, keeping his eyes on his nose and his nose on his heart, completely devoid of the arrogant image he portrayed in front of Su Peng. When he occasionally spoke with relatives, he smiled modestly and politely.
The uncles at the table also seemed quite nervous one by one...
As if discovering a new continent, An Han looked towards those uncles.
She always used to think that it was her uncles' personalities that were stiff and serious. But ever since she discovered that her father wasn't favored by her grandfather, she realized that perhaps any male who married her grandfather's daughters wasn't very favored.
Could it be that Grandfather was an extreme daughter-con?
Although it was a New Year's visit and family gathering, the chatter at the dining table was still just trivial domestic matters, and An Han couldn't get a word in.
In the past, when she was still male, she could chat about games with a few familiar male cousins during this kind of New Year gathering and go out to stir up trouble. But now, facing her male cousins, she felt a bit reserved, so after filling her stomach, she could only pull up a small stool by herself and sit by the door playing on her phone.
It was already 8 PM by the time they prepared to head home.
An Han called Su Peng's phone in advance, but it didn't connect. She stared helplessly at the sedan parked in front of the door, not knowing what to do.
"Should we just leave it parked here?" she tentatively asked her mother.
"Why don't you try calling again?" There was no parking lot or surveillance cameras here, and Mother was terrified that if the car stayed here overnight, it would be scratched up by nearby bratty kids.
During the New Year period, there were countless bratty kids around, so they had to be on guard.
Moreover, this wasn't a downtown area; it was sparsely populated at night. If things inside the car were stolen, it would be a hassle too.
"It's not connecting~" An Han sighed as she took the keys out of her pocket, turning her head to look at her father. "Dad, how about you drive? At least drive the car back."
"Me?" Father froze for a moment, then turned his head away. "I'm not driving that brat's car! I'll just ride my electric scooter."
They had just stepped out of Grandfather's house... that honest and dutiful appearance from just moments ago had already vanished.
"At least it'll be safer to drive it back."
"If I scratch the paint, it'll be quite expensive..." Father muttered.
An Han shoved the car keys into her father's hand. "Here you go, drive it around for a couple of laps to get used to it first."
With a reluctant face, Father used the key to open the car door. Once he plopped down into the cabin, the reluctance on his face quickly transformed into excitement.
He glanced here and touched there, as excited as a child who had received a new toy. He clicked his tongue in wonder, "Expensive cars really are different."
Looking through the open car window, An Han clearly saw her father's change. "Mom, is Dad actually a tsundere?"
"Tsundere?" Mother hadn't really encountered this term before and shook her head blankly.
"It means his mouth says no, but his body is honest."
"Ah?" Mother remained bewildered.
Most men like cars. An Han wasn't quite sure before, but looking at her father's behavior now, he was obviously one of them.
Su Peng's plan had worked!
After driving a nice car, Father would probably be thinking about it for days. He might even swallow his pride and borrow the car from Su Peng to drive around for fun later.
Or maybe he'd be determined to sell everything he owned just to buy one himself...
After driving around the road for two laps, the car parked back in front of An Han. Father rolled down the window and called out to the people outside, "Get in!"
This car really felt different to drive compared to those commuter cars worth a few tens of thousands.
Father was in a very good mood, but after An Han got in the car, she clung to the back of the driver's seat, leaned forward, and teased, "Dad, didn't you say you wouldn't drive Su Peng's car? Why are you looking so happy?"
"Buckle your seatbelt," Father changed the subject, putting on a stern face. "You need to buckle up in the back seat too, cultivate good habits."
"You even dare to tease your dad now?" Mother, sitting in the passenger seat, turned around with a smile and asked, "Since when is your relationship so good?"
"I've always had a good relationship with my daughter."
Yeah right, in the past, he even forgot to give me my living expenses for college from time to time.
When I came home for the New Year in the past, our total conversations wouldn't even exceed ten sentences.
An Han leaned back against the seat, indeed feeling that the distance between her and her parents had inexplicably closed quite a bit.
Because the chest binder increased favorability, so it's the system's credit?
No, it's obviously because of my own hard work!
[Father: Favorability 89]
Having not checked for a few days, An Han just realized that her father's favorability toward her had already risen to nearly ninety points.
Third update, going to sleep~
