Chapter 260 Chapter 257: Fallen!
"Didn't I tell you guys to come back in the evening...?"
The moment Su Guangyu entered the room, Su Peng’s sleepiness vanished instantly. He asked with a hint of nervousness, "You didn't scare An Han, did you?"
"How could we? Your mother is making lunch for her."
Su Guangyu sat at the foot of the bed, turning to tease his son. "No wonder you’re always dodging blind dates. Turns out you already have such a beautiful girl who likes you. Her personality is good, and she seems much more mature than you."
"..."
Su Peng curled his lip. He knew exactly how "mature" An Han really was. It was all an act; she only looked mature on the surface.
"You guys talked to her?" He sat up, grabbing his coat from the side and throwing it on. "What did you say?"
"Just getting a feel for her family background."
"And?" Su Peng’s movements stiffened, feeling a bit tense.
Although his parents always told him he just needed to find an ordinary girl—no requirements for beauty or wealth—if he looked at the blind dates they set up for him, even the "worst" ones came from families that owned companies, and every single one of them was striking.
Su Guangyu paused for a moment before answering, "It's quite good."
"Is that so..." Su Peng muttered.
"But you’re going abroad next year. What about her?"
He froze for a second, then answered stubbornly, "What does me going abroad have to do with her?"
Without another word, Su Peng walked out the door, stretching and yawning repeatedly as he headed downstairs.
Between watching movies and eating late-night snacks with An Han, he hadn't gone to bed until the early hours of the morning. Waking up early today had left him drained. He had originally wanted to spend some quality one-on-one time with An Han today, but his parents had swooped in out of curiosity. He feared the atmosphere would become stiff; though An Han was lively and outgoing, she always turned into a coward when facing elders.
Reaching the first floor, Su Peng spotted An Han in the dining room, sipping porridge.
He jogged over and asked, "How is it?"
"How's what?" An Han took small sips with her spoon. Normally, she would have picked up the bowl and gulped it down.
"My parents..."
Her face immediately slumped. "They were investigating my 'household register' (family background)."
"Let's go out after breakfast. I can't stay at your house anymore."
As expected...
Su Peng nodded helplessly. "Where do you want to go?"
"The internet cafe!"
Even though she usually couldn't be bothered to touch the computer at home, having gone a whole day without it yesterday made her crave some gaming.
"Alright."
If it were any other guy and girl, who would go to an internet cafe? But with An Han, things were easy to arrange. There was no need for elaborate romantic gestures or agonizing over date spots; whenever they were undecided, the net cafe was the ultimate destination.
Muttering to himself, Su Peng ran to the kitchen to grab a bowl of porridge. Neither of them wanted to be disturbed by his parents. In a silent pact of speed, they finished their food in three to five minutes and slipped out of the house before anyone noticed.
Once outside the residential complex, An Han finally let out a sigh of relief. The "mature" facade vanished, and she stretched her arms, her lively spirit returning instantly. "Where's the nearest net cafe? Let's duo queue and rank up!"
"How long are we staying?"
"Until 1:00 PM, then I'll head straight home."
She excitedly grabbed Su Peng’s arm. "Hurry, hurry! It’s been so long since we played side-by-side!"
"Didn't we play together every day before?"
"Voice chatting online and sitting right next to each other feels different."
There was a Wangyu Cybercafe nearby. The rates were expensive, but Su Peng was paying, so An Han didn't mind. It would be a waste not to fleece a tycoon like him.
They found a private double booth. An Han took the window seat and quickly booted up the PC, looking around with curiosity. Compared to the places she used to go, this place was incredibly high-end.
There was no smell of smoke!
The "booth" was an actual private room, not just a cubicle with a partition that offered zero privacy. The room was spacious; even with two PCs and lounge chairs, there was a small sofa in the back and enough floor space for several people to walk around comfortably.
The only "problem" was that the seating was a loveseat-style sofa chair. When Su Peng sat down, An Han would occasionally—intentionally or not—brush her shoulder against his through her clothes.
"My parents didn't mean anything by it, they just wanted to meet you," Su Peng explained as he handed An Han a cup of milk tea. "They were probably just curious since I've never brought a female classmate home before."
"Oh~ I don't mind."
Holding the warm milk tea, An Han swayed her upper body happily, her legs swinging under the desk. Since the booth was an enclosed space with no cold wind, the warm tea made her feel a bit hot. She stripped off her trench coat and various layers of winter gear, draping them over the armrest. A second later, she sensed Su Peng’s gaze.
This guy... what a pervert!
She sighed inwardly but didn't take much offense. Having become a girl—and one with such a generous chest—she had to develop a heart that could tolerate men's stares. She couldn't exactly poke out every man's eyes...
The duo queue began.
An Han’s attention quickly shifted to the game. Since they were in a private booth, she didn't worry about disturbing others, shouting occasionally, "Save me, save me! Quick, TP down and save me!"
"There are three people camping me mid! Su Peng, you should be getting fed, right?"
"Dead again..."
As her screen turned black and white, An Han’s tense posture collapsed. She leaned back and turned her head to look at Su Peng sitting beside her. She had to admit, Su Peng’s skin was pretty good—not pale, but a healthy wheat tan. His neck was long, and his prominent Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, which was strangely captivating.
An Han touched her own neck, vaguely feeling the shape of an Adam’s apple beneath the skin, though it was completely invisible on the surface.
"Why aren't you moving?"
"I'm alive!" She immediately straightened up to control her character, but a minute later, she slumped back down listlessly.
Su Peng’s presence was simply too distracting for her to play well.
Su Peng wasn't doing great today either, getting bullied by everyone, though his character was fast enough to escape death more often than An Han’s rhythmic dying spree.
With her character dead, An Han had nothing to do but stare at Su Peng’s face. After a moment, she suddenly asked, "Did you get fat?"
"Who doesn't put on weight during New Year's?" Su Peng shook his head with a wry smile.
"I didn't!" An Han proudly patted her stomach. "Flat! You’re almost getting a little beer belly, aren't you?"
"I'm just not sucking it in because I'm sitting down." Su Peng straightened his back and took his hands off the keyboard, turning to look at her blushing face. "Do you like them a bit chubby, or with muscles?"
"Do I like...?" An Han dodged his gaze. Suddenly, an image of a naked Su Peng flashed through her mind, making her cheeks burn even hotter. "Either is fine."
Back when she was a guy, she had often seen Su Peng naked—fresh out of the shower wearing only boxers. Back then, she only felt envious of his physique. Now, however, her brain was involuntarily generating some very strange thoughts.
She had truly fallen!
