Chapter 198 196. Gossip
“I’m already about the same as girls around twenty.” “I’ve got a B cup now…” “Oh, I had one a long time ago.”
An Han muttered a dirty joke to herself, originally trying to cheer herself up, but her expression still looked utterly lifeless.
Some time had passed since the last time she went out with Su Peng. She was gradually getting used to being treated as a woman. Even her classmates now looked at her no differently than they did at other pretty girls. Although everyone still subconsciously knew she was a man, they couldn’t help but see her as a girl.
Finals were getting closer, and all kinds of courses had started assigning final projects. Final projects were basically the same as final exams, which didn’t really give An Han a headache—if she couldn’t do them, she’d just hand them off to her roommates and pay a bit of money. But when exam week came, there were still several subjects that required written tests.
That was a real headache. She had never memorized key points, not even done a full read-through of the material.
Painfully throwing off the blanket, An Han rubbed her bleary eyes and looked around the small room. Although she had gradually gotten used to living here, she still somewhat missed the noise of the dorm. Living alone wasn’t as nice as she had imagined. But at least she could wear a bra without worrying about anything…
As usual, she stripped off her sleep shirt in the increasingly cold air, put on her bra, then stood naked in front of the wardrobe, quickly sweeping her gaze over the few clothes inside. Her eyes lingered briefly on a set of women’s clothing, but in the end she obediently chose men’s clothes.
The women’s clothes had been bought online over the past few days, with the size based on Lin Yi, who had a similar height and weight. They fit well when worn, but the chances to wear them were pitifully few. Aside from occasionally going out with Su Peng, at most she would wear them alone in her room like those cross-dressing guys, just to satisfy herself a bit.
“It’s getting harder and harder to resist the system…”
After washing up and changing clothes, she did some basic skincare, applied a bit of moisturizer, then stuffed her hands into her jacket pockets, put on her hood, wrapped herself up tightly, and pushed open the door.
Because it took more than half an hour to get to the teaching buildings, she had to get up early every day, and mornings were usually the coldest. At times like this, An Han would shiver nonstop from the cold.
“After turning into a girl, I seem to be more afraid of the cold.”
The temperature this year was also off—past years weren’t this cold. Most people in the urban village were still asleep, the streets empty. Only near the village entrance could she see one or two breakfast stalls by the roadside.
“Boss, three yuan of scallion pancake, and a cup of milk.”
She jogged over to the stall, looked up, revealed her fair, tender face, and smiled at the owner.
“It’s you again. How come I always see you alone every day?” the owner asked casually while working. “College student? Or already graduated and interning?” “College student. Had some conflicts with my roommates, so I moved out,” An Han replied.
[Street Stall Owner’s Favorability +3]
Whether it was her charm stat or simply her cute and well-behaved looks, after some time the owner’s favorability toward her had already exceeded sixty. And then there was that jerk Chen Junjie!
“Got a boyfriend yet?” “Nope, I’m a guy,” An Han said with a smile.
Around the school, it was still better to insist she was male. “You’re teasing this old man again. My son is really handsome—did you add his WeChat last time?” “I need to study seriously, no dating.”
An Han took the breakfast, scanned to pay, and before the owner could say anything else, she jogged across the road toward the school gate. The security guard already knew her. Seeing her run up, he glanced at the student ID hanging from her neck and casually reminded her, “Use the crosswalk next time.” “There aren’t any cars anyway.”
An Han noticed that her relationships with quite a few people were inexplicably getting better. She only exchanged greetings every now and then, maybe didn’t even remember their faces, yet they were becoming more and more familiar with her. Especially middle-aged and elderly people—whenever they got the chance, they’d chat with her endlessly about family matters.
“So I’ve become a middle-aged-and-elderly-women magnet now~”
The campus was gradually getting lively. An Han ate her breakfast, surrounded by groups of students walking in threes and fives, while she walked alone at an unhurried pace toward the teaching building.
She hadn’t gone far when she passed the cafeteria and saw Wang Sheng waving at her from a distance. She quickened her steps and joined him. “Where are those two idiots?” “At the convenience store buying snacks.” “I’m going too!” “You’ll be late for class if you go again.”
An Han had no choice but to give up the idea. Instead, she swept Wang Sheng up and down with a strange look, staring until he nervously took two steps back. Then she suddenly broke into a grin.
“Not bad~ You’ve even got a token of love~” Wang Sheng immediately shoved his phone into his pocket, blushing but pretending to stay calm. “No!” “Still pretending? What’s hanging on your phone?” “I just like cats.”
It was a little cat-head charm—something that would never normally appear on Wang Sheng. “In two years, this is the first time I’ve heard that,” An Han teased, leaning in with a mischievous grin. “She likes cats, right?” “No, no.”
Long Xing and Chen Junjie happened to walk out of the convenience store together. Hearing the conversation, they quickly joined in to tease Wang Sheng. “This guy’s basically never in the dorm anymore, always running around outside.” “When he plays games, I overheard a girl’s voice.” “Last time he stayed out overnight, he came back completely drained! Damn it, he looked like he’d lost a whole circle of weight! Tragic!” “Stop talking nonsense, I didn’t!”
The three of them crowded together like three devils, putting pressure on Wang Sheng at the same time. “You’re definitely together!” Wang Sheng scratched his head awkwardly, his face red like a monkey’s butt, then turned and ran toward the teaching building.
“Stop!” Chen Junjie was the first to chase after him. “Explain it clearly today! Bring my future daughter-in-law to eat with us!” Long Xing was about to chase too, but suddenly noticed An Han standing in place, smiling calmly like a bystander enjoying the gossip as she watched the two run off. Anyone who didn’t know better would think she hadn’t participated in bullying Wang Sheng at all.
“You’re with Su Peng too, right?”
An Han was so startled she almost jumped on the spot. She looked at Long Xing in terror and shook her head rapidly, just like Wang Sheng had, saying, “Don’t talk nonsense! I’m not! Slander is illegal!” How did eating gossip end up with it landing on her head?!
Long Xing looked at her with an “I don’t believe you” expression. She, like a maiden whose secret crush had been exposed, flushed with a pretty pink, subconsciously stepping back two steps.
“Really not!”
Seeing that Long Xing still didn’t believe her, and feeling guilty herself, she didn’t dare stay any longer. She turned and bolted after Wang Sheng.
